We stayed in this hotel in February as a couple with our 9 month old daughter, and our friends, another couple with 8 year old son, and one other couple. All of us in mid - late 30's. We actually came for my boyfriends 40th birthday and I only mentioned that to the booking team, as was looking for a restaurant to go to celebrate it. Surprisingly on the arrival day we have delivered to the room bottle of wine and a lovely bday card for him. Also our room has been upgraded to a better one and much bigger one which was fantastic for us staying there with the baby . Not sure what was the reason for that but it was fantastic, so thank you very much to the hotel staff. And the staff ... wow ! reception staff truly 5 stars ! nothing we have experienced before anywhere in the world and we do travel around 4 times a year. Small but nice swimming pool. Nice bar on the first floor. Would love to come back one day. Fantastic location. Walking distance to most places

I absoloutly loved this hotel, the staff were all really friendly and helpful and the whole style of the hotel, the spa area and the rooms is really stylish. I booked the room with a balcony which was quite large but the view wasn't great, either way it was a nice outdoor space with sun all day. The spa area is low key and not usually that busy at all, it's lovely to use the steam room or sauna and jacuzzi then sit out in the sun on the lounges outside, I didn't have any bother finding a space to lie down. The areas not the best but if you walk down the road there's a main road with a few pubs and restaurents, all cheap and cheerful and the food we got at the last in the row was lovely and very cheap. Went with my teenager and she loved it aswell. It was quiet with big rooms and comfy beds we slept so well we woke up late and they didn't charge us extra for checking out late. Highly recommend this place.

We have been travel the world and this was one of most wonderful hotel we ever stayed. We stayed there for 3 nights before joining the river cruise. We couldn't even find one bad figure of this hotel. Wonderful hospitality, well keep old building, staff are very nice. We have booked executive room so we also have lounge to use everyday as well, snack&foods bar, champange, wines, etc Wonderful service. Other thing, breakfast was amazing. So many choices, pastry was the best you ever get in any hotel, it was fresh and delicious, most of foods ingredient you can see this hotel select only A grade. I never seen any egg that big like this hotel in my life. Hotel room is not cheap But we get what we have pay for.

The Queen's Court Hotel is a nice, quiet place with nice big suites (we had a Superior Suite rather than a Standard). The pool & sauna area were quite small but that's all you really need for a hotel of this size. The staff were welcoming and polite although we weren't offered any assistance with our bags, which surprised me. Not that I would have taken them up on the offer if they had as we had very light luggage but most places would at least ask if you needed some help. The room itself was a very nice standard but wasn't luxurious, as you would expect for a 5 star property. Perhaps the more expensive suites would feel a bit more upmarket. All in all, I'd say it's a 4 - 4.5 star hotel. We were travelling to Budapest for my birthday and when we returned to our room in the afternoon, the front desk staff had left a bottle of wine & a note, which was a really nice touch. If you're looking for somewhere nice & quiet to rest in the evening but isn't very far from the entertainment district, then this is the place to go. Compared to other hotels of a similar standard I think we got a very good deal. We got a very good room for our money and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.

I stayed at the Boscolo in December with my partner in a Superior Room. It was the best 5* hotel ive stayed in, i cannot fault anything with my stay, it was more than perfect. If you want to treat your loved one, then this is the hotel to book. Everything was close by and the public transportation is very easy to use so you can get anywhere you like. Reception staff were more than helpful and the time of year was great as we got to visit the Christmas Markets. Book it now!

We initially booked here because it was central and had a washing machine. This Apart hotel turned out to be a gem of a find. Rooms are large and clean, security at doors, downstairs are has entertainment and food options galore. We were a little concerned about noise at night, however you don't hear a thing in your room. Beds are comfy. The young lady and Gentleman in reception are two of the most friendly and helpful people you will meet, nothing was a bother and they did everything they could for you. Not to far from markets, shopping, trains (Direct line to Baths)and tourist areas. There is a market down stairs on Saturdays. This accommodation is well worth it and well recommended. If I ever get back to Budapest I will have no hesitation in staying here again.

I booked the place only when they had a discount in which case it’s great. But if the price goes above 10 euro I would choose another place. The staff is really fun. Really great! The place is very new. Design is sort of good. The kitchen is equipped with dishwashers. There is a very good choice or free teas. They ask you to label your food but don't provide a pen. Wi-Fi is tolerable. Laundry service is outright bad. It costs 7 euro (more expensive than in Rome) and they ruined my clothes (temperature was too high for synthetic tourist equipment?). I had to buy a new hat after that. The cleaning staff is amazing but the cleaning is done only ones a day. Sor in the evening the toilets can become really nasty again. Showers are non-lockable. The beds have their own power outlets and reading light, and curtains. The location is quite good for nightlife. It's about 100 meters from the most famous and very interesting ruin bar.

Stayed at Arcadia for four nights. It’s good value for the price, no breakfast provided. Great air condition and clean room. We had a room on the first floor and it could be noisy on the weekends. A tourist tax is collected at the end of your stay which was not included in the pre paid Agoda price. We asked the hotel to call for a taxi and it is not metered, appears to be a private car. We asked if the taxi would be metered, but the hotel staff told us to ask the driver. Once the car arrived, it was a bit late.... the driver told us a flat rate to our next destination. . The rate to our destination was higher than taking a metered taxi that one could wave down on the street. Hotel is located in a very central and very very close to the metro.

I went into Budapest with my girlfriend on January 2013. We booked one twin room in Centrooms Hotel and we found it to be a great value for money place (9euro per person per night). It's located just outside a subway station, you just walk outside of a subway and there you have a door that leads into building interior and Hotel facilities. Rooms are located on the ground floor and third floor and they have a lot of atmosphere due to very high ceilings. They are clean and warm, no bugs, one thing that you should buy before choosing room with windows outside the building are some ear plugs - outside it's quite busy place with buses and trams. You'll find free safe lockers inside big enough to put your big DLSR camera inside. There are some cheap shops with food, cafes and restaurants just around the corner so you wont have to look to far if you got hungry. Two things that pissed us a little bit were some workers assembling lights using drills on Saturday morning in 9AM and cons of hotel location just outside the subway entrance. We found out that some of Bulgarians treat building entrance as a great place to pee. But if you are used to cheap hotels you should be used to such things almost everywhere

It's a chain. It's predictable. It's sterile. But that's not a bad thing. I needed a trustworthy place to stay for 3 nights while attending a wedding, and Ibis Budapest City didn't disappoint. A very straight-forward hotel with everything you expect from a large business-oriented chain. Check in and out was easy, room size was decent, and the bed was comfortable (although on the softer side). The only thing I wish it had was a water kettle. And for ironing you need to go to a designated room. The surrounding streets could be loud (some bars/clubs/restaurants) and dirty, but nothing scary. And you can walk to all the main attractions. The metro is just around the corner as well.

This place has a wonderful location and a great staff. The breakfast is reasonably good. It's in poor condition though. It might have been a 4 star hotel when they opened it, but that was before the cheap furniture and ugly carpet went out of style and started to look dirty and worn. Now it's more like 2 stars, propped up by its location and large rooms. It suffers especially because it is in the shadow of the Hotel Corinthia, which actually IS a 4 star property in a gorgeous historic building.

Got it on a deal, for around 60 quid for 1 night. Nice enough quiet hotel, pleasant staff, good breakfast. Great location, near Octagon and Opera. Think it was 4 star. Not sure if i'd give it that, but it was nice enough for a stay of a few days. Weird ugly carpets, but that's just personal taste. Also don't bother buying tickets to the baths from reception, just get them there. We were told prices were no different but the price of massages seemed much cheaper if just bought at the baths. Rooms were decent size, and bathroom was nice.

Das Nest is a welcome alternative to the many 'party' hostels that populate Budapest. It's a small boutique place that feels much more homely than the large hostel in the centre. The staff are extremely friendly and chilled out. The highlight of the hostel is the interior design. It's good a very unique, hippy yet modern and stylish look that makes the whole place feel very cozy with plenty of space to chill. It's quite a good place if you need to get a bit of work done also. The rooms are spacious and modern. The sheets could do with being updated as they were a little worn.

I have stayed in many hotels all over Europe Asia Africa and this hotel is by far the best ever!!!! I had booked 2 apartments and due to my colleague not making it, staff upgraded me to a bigger room all to myself. The staff are amazingly polite, the room is ridiculously clean, the food was fresh, location was perfect and the staff well the ladies were models haha. I can not speak highly of this place and thanks to agoda I got a superb deal that you won't get anywhere else. Overall must stay place!!!!

The location of the hostel is good to walk around the city, but hard to find out first time. The hostel has lots of the rooms, and mixed dormitory room where I stayed is good. It had two shower booth, two independent toilets. There is a indivisual big locker and this is very convenient. The stuffs were very kind and friendly to give me an information of the city. The price is cheap when you book earlier.

Conveniently located near a train station, and with shops and amenities nearby. Bed is nice and comfortable, but the smallest room doesn’t have a lot of space to lay out luggage, etc. Toilet can be a little small too. Nonetheless a very nice and simple hotel to stay in if you’re not too particular! What I loved too were the extra touches such as a free gaming machine to play classic games like Atari and Sonic in the main reception area, as well as a waffle maker for breakfast!

The hotel does not have a very appealing or modern look from the outside or even inside. However, the positive things of this hotel made my stay very confortable and pleasant. The rooms are not big, but are very well equiped (TV, safe, wardrobe, desk, mini-fridge/bar, water heater to make tea, wi-fi connection). I was there in November and I can say I was really happy that my room was really well heaten all the time. I never felt cold inside my room. There was heating in my room and in the bathroom. Also, room & bathroom were very clean and were cleaned everyday. There was hot water with good pressure in the bathroom. The breakfast was good, had variety of food, however it should have more variety of bread. The staff was always helpfull and nice. Regarding the location, it couldn't be better: it is next to supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars, discos, all transports and main avenues. With a few minutes walk and we are close to the river! I was really happy with my choice, great value for money!

I was feeling a bit hesitant about booking this hotel because some of the other reviews said that it's in a sort of shady neighborhood. The hotel is pretty much right next to Keleti station (across from the train and metro stations, about 3 minute walk) so the neighborhood is indeed like any other neighborhood near big train stations in Europe, looking shabby and all. I however felt never unsafe there (being a solo female traveler), even walking back to the hotel from the metro station late at night, and the location is perfect as it's right next to the station as well as a bus stop across from the station where a ton of buses come to. The room was very clean, though on a very modest side as to the furniture/decoration/amenities, and everyone I came across at the hotel was friendly. Staff was always there to answer my questions and help me with my luggage when checking out. If you're booking this hotel, look for special deals on Agoda: I got a standard room for close to $50/night.

I stayed for 3 nights at the Star City Hotel during August 2011. The hotel looks very clean and for the amount I paid for the single room, it was in my opinion very worth it. The hotel is located not so far from the Keleti pu train station. The neighbor can be quiet and dark at night. So it feels a bit scary to walk alone at the neighborhood during night. The hotel is also not so far from the Heroes' Square (Hosok tere). The rooms and toilets were very clean, although small, but it's good enough for me (it's a single room). the room is also equipped with air condition, which is a plus during summer time. Breakfast was good for me. We have the usual standard breads, ham, salami, hot omelettes (that's very good), tomatoes, cucumber, and cereal with milk. I received good service from the friendly reception. If you book the hotel with Agoda, it does not include the tourist tax (surprised at that), but it was not alot only around 400 something Hungarian Forint (1 Euro and something). If I do have a chance to come back to Budapest again, it is highly possible that I will stay at this hotel again. There's a safe deposit box in the room, so you can leave your valuables in it with no worries.

I was a bit wary of staying here given a couple of the reviews. It's not a luxury stay but it's perfectly acceptable and good value for the money that you pay. I arrived about 1pm. Quite central. Check in was one of the fastest ever and took about 35 seconds from a super organised guy. I got a room on the top floor and never heard any noise from any where else during my entire stay. The decor is a bit old and tired but i found the cleanliness OK and the room had every thing i needed although the wifi signal was weak on the top floor. In the morning when i locked myself out of the safe I called to reception and some one was uptown sort it out in a couple of minutes. Breakfast is again good value considering what i paid. In general the place is old but I felt it was sort of in keeping with the feeling of old Budapest. I can say I was as much happy with my stay in this hotel as some better classified hotels.

In a few words: Okay - Good Hostel I would stay there again This Hostel has a special flair which is somewhere between awesome and a bit rundown. The Main area has several rooms and two kitchens, multiple bathrooms and showers. It's has everything you need and looks pretty amazing on the first look. If you watch closer you can see that the condition and cleanliness could be better. Many of the people working there are people staying in the hostel. They do their job and are friendly, but they don't put in any extra effort. The second and separate main area/kitchen/bathroom is used by these workers and long-term workers staying in the hostel and not that well taken care off. Nevertheless this is still acceptable, it just has so much potential to be really awesome. Location is near the most famous spa and has a good connection to the city centre (~20 mins) with transportation Bering pretty cheap. Some nice restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket in walking distance.

Apartment with cooking facilities with nearby supermarket in the center of Budapest . Able to store luggage before and after check-in(bonus for us since we arrived early in the morning).Walking distance to tourist attraction and pier for night cruise( Don't miss the night cruise since Budapest is city of lights. No advance booking needed, just go to the pier to buy ticket). The most comfortable bed we slept during our 2 weeks trip. Nearby Metro access to other location/main bus station for next cities. Nearby bus stop access to airport too.

Very cosy apartment, feels like home away from home! Location is excellent just one stop away from the main train station and within walking distance to many of the city attractions by foot! Despite all these plus points, the one thing that really separates a good hotel/accommodation from an excellent is having an excellent host, Gabor! I wasn't particularly please with the level of service I got in Budapest, having visited their famous cafes and restaurants, like New York Palace and Cafe Gerbeaud. Gabor was the nicest Hungarian we met throughout the trip! He is extremely passionate in his work and was polite, helpful and thoughtful to us for our stay in Budapest! He was also extremely informative, giving us directions and tips to travel with ease in Budapest! Budapest is an extremely beautiful city! Besides the beautiful sights of the city, I won't forget 4You City Apartments and Gabor! Thank you!

A little tricky to find, booking confirmation didnt include phone number. Place is perfectly located next to Synagogue close to many restaurants & coffeeshops and recommended for cleanliness. Staff very friendly, once you find them on 1st floor of massive classic residential building. Under renovation - no elevator, have to carry up yr luggage 8 flights of stairs to the 1st floor (yes).

I discovered Bazar Hostel by accident as I was trying to find another Hostel nearby. After walking up the stairs and seeing the main space I immediately knew this is exactly where I wanted to stay. I booked a few nights and ended up staying 10 days. The staff, atmosphere and location all make this the hippest and most comfortable hostel in Budapest(I stayed at 4 others in the city). A few shining stars there are Craig and Jiim. Craig, a local photographer, clearly loves the city and has great recommendations not only for sight seeing but also great bars, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. Jiim creates awesome artwork for the walls and is the kind of person who welcomes every guest as a family member. They are both a blast to hang out with; exactly the kind of people you want working at a Hostel. One block from the amazing Szimpla Kert, the stunning Jewish Synagogue and million awesome unique bars and restaurants on Kazinsky and Kiraly, this is pretty ideal as far as location and convenience. I will definitely be staying here when I return.
