Good location if you're coming via shinkansen ”
Very close to Kyoto station, if you're arriving via shinkansen. There is a nice underground mall where you can find food, but this is not the down town area. The hotel had comfortable beds and it's always clean and looked after. Staff are friendly and helpful, just don't expect any hotel facilities. Still it's somewhere if come

If you want a hotel that is affordable and near to Kyoto Station, this one won't disappoint you. The only thing is I find the room smaller than I expected. The cleanliness is tip top condition.

I found this hotel is one of the best strategical for travellers. -Breakfast included (I wish they provide more varieties than just 2 for alternate rotates) -Very near to Kyoto Station (5 min) (Railways and Buses) -Quiet place. -Easy to access to: Shopping mall Post office Convenient store Kyoto Tower Kyoto Tower Public Bathhouse ～YUU～ (a.k.a Onsen) Underground food centre Over expectation: -LAN cables provided even the WiFi coverage is good enough. -A small bathtub is available in the toilet. -32" LED TV Improvements: -A day missed collecting the used teabags in the teabag tray. -Not all staff understand English (or maybe is my weird English slang) -For a foreigner, the instruction is not clear enough to guide me where to purchase the additional TV programs. (I only realise is the small machine just sit outside next to the elevator door.)

And, Kyoto sightseeing is said to be the best access from Kyoto station. For example, World Heritage sites such as Kiyomizu temple and Kinkaku temple are easy to access from Kyoto station. Therefore please use our hotel in case of waking up for Kyoto sightseeing again. But, there were also points that made customers disappointed. Pros - spotless room and bathroom, High quality toiletries, bedding, towels, appliances, etc. (comparable to 4-5 star American hotel) price was 2 star; Excellent service; I will stay every time I visit Kyoto since I am there to sleep for the most part. Still found some dust on the desk and the place is not really comfy to my liking. I know most hotel in Japan are tiny, but I have stayed in any other hotel which arrange their layout efficiently and the room looks less cramp. amenities are wonderful you'got everything covered. location also close to Kyoto station (5 min walk) and salute to all the nicest staff. cheers.

I stayed at APA Hotel from 11/20 to 11/25, and below are some comments about the hotel: Location: The hotel is conveniently nearby convenience stores, supermarket and Kyoto Station. I would give a rating of 5 out of 5 for location. Hygiene/ food safety: Because it's currently flu season in Japan, a lot of the people (including the hotel's employees) are sick. While dining in the hotel, I noticed that even though some of the employees are sick, they did not wear masks or use gloves/utensils when servicing the food (i.e., they used their bare hands to distribute the food). It is advised that masks/gloves/utensils should be used (especially during flu season) to avoid spreading the flu among hotel guests. For this, I would give a rating of 2 out of 5. Hotel room: although the hotel room was not spacious, it contained all of the necessary items and was very clean. For this, I would give a rating of 4.5 out of 5.

Our hotel is really convenience places, there are 2 convenience stores, restaurants, Yodobashi bilding such as you can go shopping and eat and close to Kyoto central station. We apologize you about people at dining in the hotel. We will wear mask and gloves for serving food at restaurant. At least. It was really busy sightseeing season in November. So, We should work more carefully. At the end, We appreciate you that you gave us 4.5 points for rooms. Our concept is compact rooms like you can catch almost everything from bed. For a traveller, its great. Although the rooms are compact, so you can't spread out too much, it has eveything you want - close to station, close to 7 Eleven type shops, coin laundry on site as well as microwave. Near to Kyoto Tower, which has a public bath in the basement and so many restaurants to choose from - Kyoto Station and Yodobashi department alone have sooo many.

Tiny room but would stay her again”
The room was tiny, like Harry Potter had more room when he lived under the stairs. But I kinda feel like that should be expected. Plus, if you’re in Kyoto, you probably won’t be spending a ton of time in the room. My husband and I stayed here with our 13mo daughter. I wouldn’t recommend this room if you plan on coming with kids and you DONT cosleep. You’ll have a hard time getting any sort of pack n play or bassinet in there. The staff is super friendly. Very helpful. And get the breakfast! It’s worth the money and super good!

This hotel location extremely well located near Kyoto station. The hotel is clean and spacious enough for 2 persons. The staffs are extremely helpful and polite. Only 1 thing is the automatic temperature adjustment by the hotel on all rooms. For 2 nights I need to suffer hot sweating and suffocating condition in the room when my room air condition was left in hot mode and I always had to go down to the lobby to inform the staff about my room.

Great location - 5 mins to Kyoto Station Comfort room - I had a single room with a double bed which is bigger than enough to me. Room is clean & tidy. Amenities are well equipped in the room. Staff - attentive & helpful! Overall it is valued for money and good for budget traveller who would like to spend more to explore on the local culture.

Less than 10 min walk from Kyoto Station which make it easier to go to other places. Around hotel there are 7 Eleven and Lawson/Family Mart nearby which is convenient if you are not taking their breakfast. They are serving Japanese style breakfast which you can choose from 2 menu. Very tasty.

The best thing about the hotel is the location. Is walk No distance from Kyoto Station, where you have access to a lot of bus stops, bullet train and the local subway system. He hotel rooms are small, you can fit two people in a double bed. He room has everything you need, just limited space to move around. The rooms are clean, you have free WiFi, a great tv, coffee and tea and a mini fridge. The value for the price is OK, meaning you are paying for the location more than anything. It serves is purpose. You get a good room at a great location.

The location is great as it is very near to Kyoto Station and Kyoto Tower. The only thing is the air conditioning is centralised, i.e. you are not allowed to change the mode for either cool air or warm air. Other than this, it is pretty worth for the money.
