I managed to get a cheap deal here on Agoda, it was amazing. At the lobby i was given a bottle of coffee too which i do not recall getting from other APA branches in Tokyo! Other then that, it is quite similar to the other APA chains if you have stayed before. Super good location too, very close to the main stations.

Room is.small, officer hotel is so nice and helpfull, but regret for the breakfast .. we buy hotel with breakfast ,but we dont know only sandwitch. The restaurant staff is not friendly.. after the second day.. we dont want to eat at the restaurant only take out.

This hotel is within walking distance from the main Kyoto station - important if you are rolling around with 2 mid-sized bags. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The toiletries provided are of good quality as well. Room is small however, but if you are looking for a shelter over your head with a comfortable bed to sleep on and to simply admire how cute-ish the room and hotel is, then APA Villa Kyoto Ekimae is the answer. I would rate my stay 8 out of 10.

The APA Villa Hotel in Kyoto is an inexpensive hotel that is clean and comfortable. The rooms are small (but all hotels in Japan offer small rooms). The location is convenient because you can walk one block to/from Kyoto Station. That is especially convenient because you may take a train or bus to different parts of Kyoto to see temples, shirnes, restaurants, or theaters. You can also walk to department stores and restaurants nearby. I would ignore criticism about the room size, as this issue does not inhibit your comfort. The staff is especially helpful and provides maps, train/bus schedules printed in English. There's a Seattle's Best Coffee shop in the hotel lobby!

Convenient location to move around Kyoto”
The hotel is very near Kyoto Station which makes it a desirable place to stay. It is clean, the staff are very helpful, specially in recovering my ipad which I left in our hotel in Kanazawa. I am very grateful of Ms. Yuko's help about that. It is very near shops, malls, convenient stores and restaurants. The only drawback is there is not much space for two people to move around freely in the room. But overall, APA Villa Hotel Kyoto-Ekimae is a pleasant place to stay.

Location near from Kyoto Station, just 5 menit by walk. Room and bathroom was too small, but i like the bathroom. toiletries are very complete. they provide shiseido for soap and shampoo. they provide a microwave if you want to heat the dishes. i like this hotel. i will stay at this hotel if i visit kyoto again. thanks APA Villa Hotel

Fairly priced hotel chain. If I have to choose, then APA Hotels would my first choice for budget. ”
Despite the modestly sized rooms, I find APA Hotels to be fairly priced and is situated near Kyoto station in Japan, which facilitates travel. I understand that there are some customers complaining about the compact size of the room. Maybe if a consolidated luggage locker room(that could only be accessed by their room keycard) could be renovated on each floor to serve the guests living on that particular floor might help. Helpful staff, excellent location”
we stayed at the apa villa hotel for two nights. it is located right by the train station, and was easy to find. the staff was extremely helpful, and gave us directions, maps, and advice about places to see and restaurants to eat at. breakfast was not included, but a buffet was available at the coffeeshop in the lobby. the room was (as advertised) small, but more than adequate. it was very clean, and included all the essentials. overall, a comfortable hotel that i would gladly stay at again!

The value for the money couldn't be beat especially around new year's eve. The location was excellent - a short walk from the Kyoto Station North exit, lots of restaurants (all kinds) and shopping nearby, The room was very clean and functional. The wifi signal was good and the TV was Huge compare to the size of the room. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 night but decided to move to another hotel with a bigger room. We thought that a 9 square meter (around 82 sqft) room was just way too small for two people. Actually, we were fine with it for the first night but we felt that it got smaller every night. We recommend this place if you are only staying in Kyoto for a night or two and out most of the time. Otherwise look for hotel with a room larger than 9 square meters if there are two of you.

Location was perfect for my first stay in Kyoto, extremely close to Kyoto station! As usual for APA hotel, room was clean and modern looking, so was lobby. Room size was good for solo traveler, might be too small for two people tho. I liked that they had cafe right in the lobby.

Very pleasant and clean hotel”
Lovely hotel, so convinient being a 3 minute walk away from Kyoto station, made my life so much easier going to different places using the subways and local routes. Room was just a good size for one person but if there are 2 of you, you may find it a little uncomfortable as there is only just enough space to put one large suitcase. There is a Starbucks about 2 minutes away by foot, a Family Mart for you water and breakfast needs. I wouldn't recommend having breakfast in the hotel, too expensive and you get better choice buying elsewhere. They are stricted about check-in time which is 3pm. I arrived an hour early and they wouldn't let me go to my room, but they kindly stored my suitcase until I returned later in the evening. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again if I travel alone, but couples will find these rooms a tight squeeze. I noticed a lot of office workers staying here, but still a lovely hotel. Enjoy your stay regardless of my opinions :)

Location is just behind the train station & Kyoto Tower. Eatery are everywhere. Room looks new with a 60 inch TV (not really needed). Room rather small but it is standard for a business hotel (APA chain hotel). Value for money. Booked earlier to grab better price.

Good service and nice breakfast. The hotel maps on the website is not so clear. Additionally, there are two APA hotels - APA Hotel and APA Villa Hotel. Actually both hotels have good location with around 5-10 mins walk from Kyoto Station. But as we were directed to the wrong hotel, we walked till exhausted with our luggages...

We arrived in Sapporo late so we decided to book this hotel since it was so close to JR station and made the right choice. This hotel is very new and stylish. Unlike other APA hotels we've stayed at, this hotel had a full breakfast buffet with a huge selection. Will definitely book it again in the future.

great location”
this was the roomiest of my stays in kyoto, nice modern and very convenient for train / bus needs. the breakfast was pretty good with japanese and western, mostly like the pastries and self help espresso in the morning. the shower is small like all the other hotels but the room is more comfortable and layout is done well for bed and tables considering that these overall are very small sized bedrooms, but it is comfortable, clean and cosy.

Near Kyoto Station”
Typical APA hotel. I stayed mostly in APA hotels throughout my trip in Japan. This hotel is one of the hotels that does not have all the tv channels. Located near Kyoto Station. You can go via the underpass where the underground malls are. They are all connected and they're like a huge maze to me. Lots of dining options available as well in the underground mall. 7-11, Lawson and Family Mart located near the hotel. Seattle's Best Coffee chain is located at the hotel lobby as well.
