The hotel is already an attraction”
This big hotel is filled with all the amenities, restaurants and entertainment you might need. Although I was in one of the most beautiful of the Japanese islands I rarely felt like I should go out of the hotel, since the place itself is quite as good as home.

Reasonably priced ”
We picked this hotel as my hubby and kid loves Japanese public bath. The female public bath isn’t as large as expected, but I was still satisfied with it. We picked a 2-double bed room with a sofa bed near the corner for 2 adults and 1 5-yr old kid. The room is big enough that we had plenty of room for opening our 2 big suitcases. The breakfast buffet starts early and ends early too (last entrance at 0915), so we had to get up early in order to have our breakfast. The range of food choices and quality is quite good. My boy especially loved the sweet potato there. Considering about the price and the quality, we will stay here again if we come to Ishigaki next time.

Very good”
Positive experience. Pros and cons of being a very big hotel : all type of services available onsite (tours, restaurants, small shop...) but many groups. Despite not being fully central in Ishigaki city, a short 15min walk is perfectly feasible. Several bus lines stop at this hotel. Good breakfast.

Decent stay but needs a light polish.”
Rooms are decent and clean. Staff was polite and kind. Facilities were clean. Food was as expected. Bathroom floors and tiles could use a deep cleaning and staff could be a little more attentive to details. Also, would love to see operating hours for the pool expanded. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

Acceptable”
The location was far away from a beach or the mountains. It has a pool but it was only open at 10 and then it lacked sunshine throughout the day. As it was on a main road it was noisy. The rooms were fine but the staff didnt speak any English so it was difficult to ask for anything.

A quite decent hotel”
My general impression to hotels in Ishigaki is: they cost pretty higher than expected (say when compare to hotels in Okinawa) ART Hotel Ishigakijima is as well slightly pricely than expected. Nevertheless, it is a good hotel with good standard - hospitable and helpful staff, the hotel is clean. The pool is not a big one but the water slide is a remarkable one. it is about 1/2 storey high with water gushing from the top - it should bring fun to the kids who dare to try (the slide is for 110cm below). Unfortunately I have not had the chance to use the public bath and to dine in there so no comments to the restaurant could be made. The key weakness is the carpark below the hotel is ALWAYS full and one have to park in the secondary car park with no choice. It is just a few minutes walk from the hotel - but the puddles along the way will always make one wet on his way back to the hotel when it rains

Good”
Our stay at Art Hotel Ishigaki was disappointing especially because of customer care. This hotel has an open air swimming pool but its Agoda profile doesn't say the pool is closed in winter. We asked for a partial refund, which was denied. They said we could use for free the facilities of another hotel 20 minutes by bus far away (facilities every other guest could use). Then we contacted Agoda, which told us they had asked the hotel for a refund too; the hotel staff said they got no email from Agoda and after we insisted, the hotel staff said their official website says the pool is closed in winter. Unfortunately, the official website is only in Japanese and the English version doesn't mention the pool closure. That said, they granted us 1000¥ each to be spent in their shop. Agoda granted us 10% of the reservation total amount refund. Besides that, Art hotel has a good location, about 15away on foot from the city center. Moreover, some buses stop directly at the hotel door.

Ishigaki good place for holiday”
There is a free shuttle bus from airport to hotel, no stop. The room is big enough for a family of 4 to 6. The staff is very helpful, especially Ms Carol Poh. She help us to plan all activity. Very enjoy. At this trip, we forgot to take back passport, money and credit cards in room safe. Then check out to another island. We ask them to keep for us. We never trust a hotel like it. Will stay here again for next year

Very nice hotel”
Staff is very nice and helpful. We dropped off the luggages first before parking, someone came to help immediately when he saw I was waiting outside the hotel. Front desk staff is nice and enthusiastic. Hotel gave us a gorgeous and meaningful gift for our honeymoon. Breakfast is delicious and different everyday. We have an enjoyable honeymoon there.

Very average. Not much different from Toyoko Inns”
Front desk staff are relatively friendly (by that, I am referring to real friendliness, instead of the more common shakoujirei brand of friendliness found in Japan). The condition of the hotel is decent, although you can see this hotel has seen better days. It is an older hotel, but- they do keep it very clean, up to Japanese standards. I was very disappointed with the breakfast buffet cafe staff. On two occasions, I simply asked if I can have boiled eggs (they had a stand where they make omelettes) but, he simply said "Oh... I'm so sorry... I cannot do that.". If you've been to Japan you may be familiar with this kind of answer: ask for anything that is even slightly different from the norm, and you'll hear a "polite" no. If everyone asks for eggs with salt on them, but you then ask for eggs with no salt- the entire system breaks down and they don't know what to do. This is exactly the kind of service you will receive at this hotel. Any request that even mildly strays from the norm, will be met with a polite "I'm sorry... I cannot do that.". Having lived in Japan for many years (and my girlfriend is Japanese) we're used to this, but, it may put off other guests from abroad, and certainly does not show a mindset on the part of the staff that caters to international travelers. Overall, all things considered (cost, service, etc), I will not be staying here on my returns to Ishigaki, and will not recommend this hotel to others.

Impressive stay”
Staff is very helpful even though they may not speak English very well, we used translation tool so that was not a big problem. The hotel is so clean and tidy, everything looks exactly the same like the pictures shown in Agoda page.

Travel with friends”
The room is basic international hotel room, clean and tidy. The swimming pool is good too. Parking always full but you park next door. Sadly, most of staff only speak Japanese which we don't know at all. All staff are helpful and nice although they don't speak English. The hot spa is nice too. Very nice to take a hot spa after a packed travel plan. To conclude, everything are nice. Worth of money.

The kids love the pool.”
The kids love the slide. But the parking is problem. If the main parking area is full, you need to park to another parking area which is 120M away. And you need to walk back to hotel in a no street light road where other cars would drive through. You must take care of children. Quite danger.

Nice stay”
The swimming pool is small and needs further maintenance. Staff are very helpful and nice. There is a small tourist information counter in the hotel which helps us make booking and arrange transportation to different sightseeing spot.
