this is my second stay at this hotel, and this time i booked for a deluxe room. the room itself is quite nice and spacious with neoclassical design. the in-room dining offers a variety selection of famous western, asian and indonesian meals. during my stay, i looked up the in-room dining menu selections, and later decided to have dinner at my room. surprisingly, all the food i ordered were delicious and the portions were so generous, club sandwiches, bi bim bap, nasi goreng, and especially the beef short ribs was the best!

we stayed there for four nights in 9th floor. we got very cheap flight directly to solo and decided to stay at solo to save cost and this hotel is best option for per night. actually, the travel to yogi just one hour for 10k idr and to the train station 15k for taxi ride. but compared to the jogja the price is very cheap, can definitely save money. but i recommend to stay at jogja to avoid travel time and its very nearby the tourist attractions like borobudur and perambanan temple. the shopping malls at solo are good and very cheap. but if you go to jogja togu station (maliaboro) area, the shopping is stretched upto 2 km, very good.

I booked 5 rooms for 2 nights for this hotel through Agoda. Our large, extended-family needed them. Luckily, all reservations worked well as planned. The hotel staffs were friendly. The hotel seems a little bit old because of its classic design; but it is comfortable and clean. No one in my family members had any complaint about it. The rooms were large and the twin beds were quite big. Previously we stayed in Ibis, Semarang, that has much smaller rooms. So, these spacious rooms were a warm welcome to us. I preferred not to have breakfast in the hotel, as I know the best places to eat in Solo. All places of interest in Solo is relatively near. Just order a taxi or rent a car and you will reach most of them in a few minutes from this hotel. If you have time, probably you don't even need a taxi, as there are becak everywhere in Solo. My nephew even ordered one to go around and back, without alighting, just to provide the experience to his small children. Will I recommend this hotel? Yes...

The hotel is located within 3mins walking to famous restaurants which are really good to dine at. I didn't have breakfast at hotel, but at "Soto" stall just at the right hand of the same street (50m away). The room was small, but very clean and the shower is great. No view from my room's window, but why would you have a view from the room when we can just go outside and see for ourselves? The staffs are really helpful. Taxis are the best cheap transportation around as famous spots are not within walking distance. Paragon mall is 10mins walking through back alley (really delightful in the morning, but kinda dark in the night with few street lights). This hotel is really good for its price. Love it.

This is one of the oldest chain hotel in Surakarta. Although many facilities were kinda outdated, but they still serve in excellent manner. Good for older people for nostalgic sake. For younger people who enjoys contemporary architecture might not be pleasant. However, we had a pleasant stay for the service and the cleanliness of this property. Best point, the price were very cheap for hotel this big.

It was a pleasure to return to Grand Orchid in Solo. Tired and weary, but everything was taken care of with perfect service so we didn't have to worry about anything. The room was situated on 3rd floor with a balcony towards the inner garden. We knew from our previous stay it was safe even during an earthquake, at least as safe as can be expected. It was nice to have a shower and relax after the journey. We ordered ayam (baked & goreng) with nasi putih and gado gado sauce on the side. The food was of high quality, and we stuck to the same diet throughout our stay. An important feature is the possibility to book good taxi-reides or a mini bus. It functioned flawlessly and to a very good price. The hotel also provides change to a good rate, and you need not be afraid to leave your luggage in the lobby if you are going out for a final look at Solo before check-out. It is all well taken care of. I truly wish we could have stayed longer. Next time, we will.

Location wise, it is near Tirtonadi Bus Station, therefore many out-of-town buses pass here. It is also near the latest dam that is opened as tourist spot. There's a minimarket right across the hotel too. However, it is rather far -- in case of small city like Solo, I mean -- to a lot of food spots or shopping places. You need to take ojek or taxi to get there. But my room was quite cozy, all facilities worked including hot water. Many TV channels to keep you entertained. Would love it if a hair dryer is provided in the room, though.

I did not expect too much when i book this hotel, but very happy because its more than what i expected. The hotel room is clean and got upgrade into suite room. The location is near station Solo Balapan. I checked in at 2 am by walking from station to hotel. Bathroom is clean and works properly. The linen bit old but clean and smells good. The view from my room also nice. My favorite is the breakfast range. Its complete and all foods taste good and the restaurant also very comfy. Staffs was also helpfull and friendly. Overall highly recommended ❤

this is the best transit hotel that i have stayed at so far. the location is very close to the solo balapan station, which makes it ideal for transit hotel, yet not too close that you would get bothered by the noises from the trains. we were pleasantly surprised, the room, the service and the breakfast quality exceeded our expectation considering the amount of money we paid. the only thing that they could do better is upgrading the bed matrasses, the bed was quite hard. but other than that this is now our first option when transiting in solo.

shower needs replacement (clocked up with calicium), acording to website there shoud be hairdraier (not availible), coffe thea maker (not availible), slipper (not availible), telefoon (not availible), in room safe box (not availible), laptop safebox(not availible), laundry service (not availible), there was a refriduater, with wasn't cleaned or conected, after cleaning we used it as a bonus. this hostel was a lesser ofshoot of the Kusuma Sahid Prince hotel 50 meters furter on, there was a breakfast with was diliverd cold at 6.30 every morning (the hotels doesn't have its own kichen the breakfast coms from the bigg hotel and has to traqvel over the street by the time you get it its cold, The genaral state of the hotel is very old, dated nd needing upgrates everywhere, the rooms are not good cleaned (imposible with this old stauff, the staff howerver is very friendley and helpfull, and the location is very good.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and is in the midst of many fun things to see and do - it's also very easy and pleasant to walk to the surrounding areas. Maybe because our room was near the street, it was a little loud in the morning; tour buses across the street using loudspeakers around 5:30, the market opening early, and the traffic from the road...that being said, we'll definitely stay there again because it is truly beautiful and a great place to stay - I'll just ask that our room be farther from the street :-)

Very enjoyable even though we were only there 1 night. We would have stayed a second night but all rooms were booked for the architects workshop that was being led by the owner and designer of the hotel. The people involved in the workshop were also very interesting to talk to. The desk staff were extremely helpful in working out the best way for our onward trip to Bromo.

very disappointed with the hotel 1. i do check in to the hotel room at 2 pm, but the room is not ready yet. the brochure on the reception table said that the guest can get free upgrade room if the booked room is not available. but in fact, the receptionist wont give us the free upgrade room with any bullsh*t reasons. and i have to wait for about an hour to check in to my booked room. 2. the musics in the karaoke (above the restaurant (near the lobby)) very annoying to the traveler who need a relax break after doing some activity in the noon. cant sleep well until 11 pm. have call the reception they give no way out, and ask us to wait until 11 pm. you kidding me? 3. when we try to take a break at night and watch tv to relax, the lamp inside our room (near the window) suddenly burst and cause the electric in our room is suddenly shut down. call the room service, and the hotel staff came and check, then they took the lamp and turn back the electric in our room, BUT the staff said that they cant change the lamp because of the stock of the lamp is out. really? that's it? actually they can buy the same lamp near the hotel and put it back to my room. the lamp is regular lamp that many little local store sell it. 4. the swimming pool actually not exclusive for the guest only, but it is also open for the public. so, if u looking for the relaxing hotel, consider it back.

Easy walk on Sky bridge to get to and from train station. Small but efficient rooms. Hotel can arrange motorbike rental so you can do day trip outside Solo, which is highly recommended. The neighborhood itself around the hotel is not very interesting so it's best to rent motorbike or take taxi to explore other parts. You stay here because it's cheap and next to train/bus stations.

a few day before we check in, we already make a direct phone call to this hotel to inform the receptionist that we will have a late check in because we traveling by car from Jakarta. But we are very shocked because when we arrive they already give our rooms (we booked for 3 rooms) to other guests, so they have to move us to their other hotel. After a long & hard conversation then the second night we move back to the hotel that we already reserved. But the room condition are very bed, smell from the bathroom, broken door key, no hot water from the water heater, no telephone in room so we have to walk quite far to the receptionist if we need help. I will not recommended this hotel to other people and will not coming back for my next visit to solo.

a bit far from the Jalan Slamet Riyadi main area. you can charter a becak , cost about Rp. 12.500.- p/hr to go to other areas of interest . also near the Main Train Station ( Balapan ). Generally the city is clean & safe . the previous has done a very good job bringing order & cleanliness - but he is now in Jakarta. so how long the standard will be kept up - nobody knows.

I had a very comfortable stay at Twin Star Hotel. Everything was like said in all the positive reviews that I was reading. Spacious, cozy & clean room with warm shower, TV cable, and even affordable food prices. Spacious parking lot as well. Very friendly staff. On the last day I left a tip in the room, and as I was checking out, a staff member was bringing it back to me, since he thought I forgot it in the room. I hope that this hotel will keep up with their great quality or become even better. Thank you for a pleasant experience. A little tip for travellers, since this hotel seems to be relatively new, it would be better to save the location in a mobile app to get there. Asking people might not result well.
