I actually unintentionally booked this hotel. I was on the trip to Bali however it was already to late and i decided to stay in this hotel. The hotel has a very beautifull decoration, i note a couple of beautifull jejer gandrung dance statue. The hotel has lot of greeneries and feel so excotic. The room was fabolous,clean and conformtable. However there is no bathtub or maybe i made a mistake on my reservation.The staffs are very nice and you can borrow a bicycle to ride it around the hotel. The pool and the playground for kids was decent. However this location is quite far from ketapang port. Althought it is very recommended,i am not sure if i will go there again since everytime i was in banyuwangi i need to cath up the boat schedule to bali as soon as possible. Otherwise,this place is perfect.

When my husband & I have a plan to go to Ijen Crater, first of all we are look for Santika Hotel in that city (Banyuwangi). As we always spent in Santika Hotel group if we traveled domestic. When we reach the hotel, as we predict that all their service are nice and we felt like in 2nd home. Even at that time the hotel was fully booked caused by the event in Banyuwangi, their service is still excellent among the hectic condition.

It's a new hotel in Banyuwangi area where is the city near Kawah Ijen. When I arrived the hotel, I simply asked the staff make an arrangement to Kawah Ijen for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful with patience. With the location in just an hour away to Kawah Ijent, I got up at 3am to meet the driver who waited in front of the hotel to pick me up. The hotel itself was very clean with a samll pool in the court yard, and the dining area in my opinion, was just what I expected, the modern southeastern style. The room isnt very big but enough for a solo traveller. The bed is clean and very comfortable. With all the good stuff here, the price was unbelievably reasonable. I think this hotel is the perfect choice to stay if you are planning a trip from Mount Bromo to Bali.

We stayed for two nights, using the hotel as a base for visiting nearby Kawah Ijen. The hotel is conveniently located 15 minutes away from the Bali ferry terminal and the Surabaya train station (Banyuwangi Bari). We stayed in a spacious garden bungalow with a large bed - and enjoyed views over the hotel gardens. The bungalow had an unusual but very nice outdoor bathroom behind the room itself and entirely private. The staff was pleasant and helpful with all our enqueries and organized day-tours for us which we could pay through the hotel. We were picked up at the ferry terminal and dropped off at the train station for free. They were also attentive and provided efficient service at mealtimes. The food was good and ample and they also offered food for take-away during day outings from the hotel. The location of the hotel is on a hilltop with views both towards the Bali Strait and the mountains. A pool with sun-loungers is set in the middle of the gardens and is large enough for swimming. The drive to the starting point of the Kawah Ijen walk is about 2 hrs during day-time - probably less in the early morning/night. It was a scenic and interesting drive and we would not hesitate to recommend this as a base for other visitors to the Kawah Ijen. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our stay at Catimor Hotel was ruined by the rude, unhelpful and deceitful staff. Naturally we booked this place for a base to see the volcano. The room itself was ok but the staff let the hotel down by being incredibly rude and providing us with false information in order to extract more money from us. Be aware (as the hotel staff may tell you otherwise) you can only access the volcano from 1am-12pm midday! The hotel is clearly supplied with a constant stream of clients from the packaged tours. I believe this has lead the staff to become complacent and indifferent to their customer's experience.

The owner and his wife were really nice and helpful, but we didnt ecpect no flush and no sink (not even thinking about such basic things) for that price!! But the room and bath were very clean, same as the whole accomodation! Theres a Gate that lets You feel safe! The bed was horrible uncomfortable soft and hard pillows, but that depends on what you like! After a sleepless night for ijen even we got some sleep;) Breakfast is delicious! Though the owner always helped you and was really nice, he helped us with the public Bus to Denpasar, but first he didnt tell us that the bus stops in Mengwi (awful to get from there to denpasar or kuta, commonly you have to take a taxi for 200.000) and second he drove us to the ferry station (for 50.000) and dropped us off at his „friend“, „travel agent for public bus“ and told us the price for public bus is 100.000 (if you book it with his friend who is waiting for you there), but actually public bus is only 40.000.... So all in all they all want to earn some more Money with tourists but it has been quite comfortable not to look for the public bus, but it summed up in the end...50.000+2x100.000+200.000 A good place to stay!

I can’t find words to describe how well we have been treated by this Indonesian family. They did literally everything they could for us! Tour to mt. Ijen, coffee plantation, rubber cottage and even took us wherever we needed to go. Great breakfast made every morning and the guy was incredibly kind and also very interesting as he told us tons of things about Indonesia, animals and the nature around banyuwangi.... so if you want to feel at home plus living with the ultimate guide of Indonesia you have to stay here! The house was in a small village with a great and cheap restaurant nearby, where everyone seems veeery happy to see you! Yes it is a homestay so you have a room in their house but don’t stay in a hotel when you can get to know the locals this well and make the most of your trip. AMAZING time, recommend 1000%!! One of the best person we’ve met in our trip

Breakfast was simple but really good. The rice had a great flayvor. Next door live the owners parents. A really friendly couple who also speaks a bit English. For 900k (For 2) the owner offers Ijen Tours to see the blue fire and sunrise. Afterwards you can jump under a waterfall to wake up again. If you need to do laundry ask for. His wife offers it! We will come again!

We arrived at around sunset time, so we spent few hours at the beach before checking in. Due to fully occupied rooms at Wisma Pulau Merah though we already successfully booked one room on agoda a day before, but Papa (the host) effortlessly prepared us a new room at The Wisma, which is a new bungalow establishment across the street, and it’s even a lot better than what we should’ve had on Wisma Pulau Merah. It’s a private bungalow with beautiful open air bathroom. Can’t thank you enough Papa! Thanks for making our stay was so pleasant, He’s also so helpful in giving us information about where and what to do around there.

We had booked with Agoda a long time ago. Upon arrival, we've been told that no room was available. I insisted saying we had a voucher and it was already paid. The wifi was barely working to try to find another place. After a while, he showed us a room (that appeared by magic?). The room seemed a bit shabby but well, I can live with it as long as it's clean. In the bathroom, we asked for the shower and he showed us the tap over some kind of ceramic tank with a plastic cup. This is NOT a shower! We insisted to get a real one, and he asked us to pay extra. What? More rooms available? (Of course, there was about 6 people total including us there!) He said there were none when we arrived! We paid the little extra. Ok, we had a shower. But pressure was so low, that we ended up washing ourselves with the thing next to the toilet to wash your but! And the bathroom was damp, with a curtain full of mold. Next to the hotel they were burning stuff and so it was full of smoke outside. For 22 euros, it was definitely NOT worth it (we've ad great places for 15 euros in more touristic places!). And the guy at the front desk was clearly a liar, and only interested by money and not the satisfaction of visitors. I do not recommend this place AT ALL, it should be kicked out from Agoda!

Lovely staff and nice accomodation with good views. Breakfast was a simple but tasty toastie with some fruits we've never tried before! Only stopped here for one night in passing but it was a good stop, and very cheap! Only negatives were the lack of a mosquito net as the design of the room included open windows with no meshing, and also no hot water in shower. Overall would recommend!
