Decent hotel with great facilities ”
This hotel is worth your money because it has facilities that a decent hotel has like the lounge area, swimming pool, borrowing an iron for my clothes. I love their reception because it will give you a bit of luxury while in Barcelona. The swimming pool is great enough but not as big as how the pictures shown. The bus station and metro are also closeby for me in my opinion. Plus there is a nice convenience store & pharmacy nearby too. The staff could be a little bit smiley and everything will be awesome

Very good if you're willing to use transportation or for a short visit to Park Guell (walking distance), but for city center & other attractions, you need to use transportation.

Thank you for sharing your oppinion with us. It is true that public transport is needed to visit the city center and other attractions. Luckily we have the Vallcarca L3 green line stop in less than 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, and it connects directly to the city center in about 15 or 20 minutes.
Pros & cons”
Pros: Staff are super friendly & helpful and hotel is quite close to a train station. There is a supermarket & pharmacy nearby. Cons: Be prepared to walk uphill. While the room is clean and the size is fine, the walls are thin so not advisable if you are a light sleeper.

Nice place for stay few days”
Easily accessible, has its own parking for payments of 60 euros for three days, which i assume is expensive. Small tiny swimming pool at roof top which is cold in winter as expected. Rooms are spacious. Indoor food available.

Staff were absolutely Excellent and very welcoming, sadly every morning we were woken up to works being done on the floor above us that we weren’t told about before arrival or pre warned, the pool was stone cold only way of explaining it was as an ice bath… the “Double bed” was two single beds pushed together with a double bed mat.

Very small (like many Spanish hotels), you could barely fit your luggage in there, let alone a pack n play. The pack n okay was big and very cute though! Staff speaks English and they were very nice and helpful. We had thought Park Guelle was close but we had to take a bus to it.

Great Front Desk staff”
Ana on front desk was amazingly friendly and helpful. She is a credit to the establishment, and will go far in the Hospitality industry. However my stay was marred by unexpected parking charges, I had mailed the establishment previously and chose this hotel as it was my beief there was no additional charge.

Advertised room photo different than reality”
Let me start with the better points of this hotel. The hotelroom was clean. Also the location was good, although it is out of the city center. The bus stops almost in front of the hotel and goes to Placa de Catalunya. As well as the metro line (L3) is only 5 minutes walk. Now the worse points of the hotel. The 'Standard Two-Person Room' advertised on the photo's is different than what it was in real-life. Our room (109) looked from the 1980's with everywhere brownish tiles, also the floor. Personnel was kind of rude, at the reception the lady let us wait for about 4 minutes because she was on the phone. When finished she phoned someone and helped us during her phone call. Breakfast is limited and for the price I would advise to go to a bakery. In the end we switched rooms to the top floor with a queenside bed (1.20m wide). During our stay the lobby was renovated and this started at 8:30 a.m.

Different from the advertisement picture”
The room is very rundown and very different from the picture shown. Only the lobby looks nice but the room is very old and cracks are everywhere. There is window in the room but it is not really facing outside, it is facing another building where you cannot really get fresh air. I am really disappointed as I thought Catalonia is a very famous hotel franchise in Spain.

Would not recommend!!!”
As soon as we got there the hotel looked lovely. Really nice lounge and reception area and the outside also looked nice. Once we checked in and went to our room it all went downhill. The room was nothing like the pictures!!! There was no air con and the room was really hot. We also couldn’t open our window as our room was located on the street and had bars on the outside. We went to reception to ask if they could fix our air on or if we could move to a room on a higher floor so we could open our window or even get a balcony. The staff said the hotel was booked out and we couldn’t be moved (this was a lie as I checked their website and various booking sites and there were plenty of rooms available for the duration of our stay) they were quite unhelpful. However they did bring us a fan. It’s also a bit out of central Barcelona but the tram service is really good and only a short walk away. Overall I would not recommend and I will not be back!

I really would not recommend this hotel”
Unfortunately the hotel is just poor. I was kind of sold on these lovely photos of a balcony with breakfast and pool photos. I can confirm that these rooms are only a very small part of the hotel the rest of the rooms are disappointing and terribly decorated. The bathroom door didn’t close, the front door was slightly broken and wouldn’t double lock, the staff were overworked and rude as a result, they were also not very well presented for example: crinkled suits. The walls were water damaged, there was no ventilation in the room, the hairdryer was broken, the grout and tiles were damaged and showed signs of damp, the toilet was badly maintained and the room was generally unclean. The only redeeming quallity of this hotel is the quiet area it’s based in. I would say Do not book this hotel unless they can show significant improvement. This is not a three star hotel it is fought a 1 and half.

having stayed at catalonia park guell hotel a good few times over the years, i found the staff helpful and eager to please. the rooms are comfortable with all essentials and free wifi everywhere - if you have a room facing the hills there is a large balcony included in the higher floors with a good view of tibidabo, etc. there is a new but discreet decked pool area on the top floor with sun chairs and tables (not for crowds) and a pleasant bar and dining area available most of the time. would recommend as a well priced and hospitable hotel - will be booking again when visiting barcelona.

it is not VERY close to Park Guell but it was in walking distance. the room was clean, staff was nice. Varcarca station was a tad bit far. but there's a bus station right down the hill(about 3 min walk) straight to Catalunya plaza. breakfast was not included so i don't have anything to say about the food. i chose this hotel because of the outdoor pool. it was VERY small(not really like the one in the hotel pic), but it was satisfactory. nice view from the pool. it closes at 8 pm. no restaurant near the hotel though.

Well decorated hotel, delicious food & good value”
We were really very pleased with the hotel, and would recommend to anyone looking for good value within 15 min from the city centre. It's a short walk from the Vallcarca station, but very pretty since its in the hills and close to Parc Guell. Nice view of Tibidabo from the hotel room.

After searching the web for suitable hotels I decided we would try this hotel. During our first visit we decided we would definitely return when we needed to access Barcelona airport. We did so for 3 more nights and found the room, service and location just as satisfying as the first time we stayed at the hotel.
