Nice Hotel just next to Entrance of Borobudur Temple Complex”
Nice Lay-out Design, but need a little bit re-condition of the Living Room Doors ... and the PolyCarbonate Roof are leaking while having a HeavyRain

I'd probably try other options if staying near Borobudur again, but would consider a repeat stay here. Rooms are small

at peace at cempaka”
Cempaka villa is right across the street from hotel manohara where you can get tickets for the borobudur sunrise. It is maybe a 2-3min-walk. So the convenience is great and so is the room price. The room is a bit small but ample space for luggages and for you to walk from one end to the other without bumping the bed. The magic here is the peacefulness and quietness. Guests do behave and are not loud. Their little cafe is ok, food is good, though not as much as the food choices in manohara. Cempakas cafe is just like you are right outside of your peaceful garden. And i love their krupuks in the morning breakfast. Id be back most definitely even without visiting the temple,. Bed and room clean. Staff always present and very amiable.

Sunrise at candi borobodur”
Staff at Cempaka Villa go out of their way to provide a great experience and are easily the best aspect. They can provide detailed maps with personal recommendations for things to do "off the beaten path", they will rent you a bicycle so you can tour the rice and tobacco fields at your own pace, and they are extremely willing to resolve any room issues (I had a hot water issue they resolved in minutes). Clients are mostly small families and backpacker couples. The hotel provides free transport to Borobodur at sunrise if you purchase ticket at Cempaka Villa (sunrise is worth the added ticket cost to beat the crowds). Pre-dawn call to prayer from neighboring mosque is what you would expect anywhere in Indonesia, except the muezzin actually had good pitch and tone. Overall a great experience, and I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We didn't stay here”
I am writing this just so the item will disappear from my review pending page. The booking was messed up and we were sent to Cempaka Villa 2 down the road, a nice place but lacking almost all the facilities of the place I had booked. CV 2 is with booking.com, not Agoda (even though they are owned by the same company) and my attempts to resolve this situation resulted in my only negative experience with Agoda in all the years I have been using them. Please ignore this review in terms of Cempaka Villa, all I can tell you is that the counter staff were exceptionally helpful on the two occasions we dealt with them.

Perfect for overnight to see sunrise at Borobudur”
It's a convenient location for Borobudur. I wanted to see the sunrise and paid for the sunrise tour package at Cempaka Villa. Perhaps better to pay at Manohara itself, because the treatment will be slightly different. The package costs the same. I went at the early part of the fasting month, so there was just too much noise coming from the mosque from 11pm at night, and every hour from 2am. You probably won't get much sleep, but that's ok since you'll want to be up by 4am for the sunrise.

Very Nice Villa with a friendly budget”
A great place to stay in magelang. Quiet near to several attraction like Borobudur Temple, punthuk setumbu and gereja ayam. I love the shape of the house which represent the yogyakarta’s authentic rumah joglo-minimalist concept! The room is clean the first time we get there and the breakwast was superb! Definitealy will recommend this place to anyone who are looking for a nice villa around magelang

Strategic location and value for money”
We were very satisfied by staying at Cempaka Villa. The staffs are attentive and helpful in providing travel info, arrange for rooms and offer their phone to contact our driver. It is at strategic location, only 5 mins walk to hotel Manohara to access Borobudur Temple if you are going to catch the sunrise. Breakfast provided are good. Will definitely recommend Cempaka Villa to others.

Very hany place to stay”
Cempaka Villa is very close to Borobudur main gate and the hotel that has the sunrise tours of Borobudur. Rooms are very small so your luggage is on the floor next to your bed and you have to step over it on the other hand the bathrooms are very large like way to large, why they didn't make the bathrooms smaller and increase the bedrooms only the Gods know. Otherwise I would recommend Cempaka to anyway budget traveler.

Incredible Service, Cozy Environment”
We were picked up by the driver sent by the hotel from the train station. Upon arrival, I was drawn to the serenity of the villa. Staffs were incredibly friendly and ensure our needs are met and attended. The bed was huge and I really like the style of the room. I would say it's ideal for couples or small groups. It is also minutes away from Bourbodur, so this is definitely an excellent location given this is the primary attraction. I highly recommend staying at Cempaka if you are planning a visit to Bourbodur.

Rustic chalets in a quiet corner”
tucked away in a quiet corner within walking distance of the magnificent Borobudur Temple, Cempaka Villa is a collection of rustic chalets, neatly maintained, and reasonably clean. I say "reasonably", because i thought i felt a hint of grit while walking inside my room, which is a tad small compared to a regular hotel room. However, it was adequately suitable for my purpose, which was simply a place to stay while visiting Candi Borobudur, Staff were friendly and helpful. especiall one pleasant young lady by the name of "Hema" If all you want to do is sleep in a clean room while visiting Candi Borobudur, Cempaka Villa is great!

beautiful villas in rice paddies”
Cempaka villa was a welcome respite, set in a beautiful location surrounded by rice paddies, it feels miles away from from the hustle and bustle of the borobodur. Breakfast and dinner is basic but good. Bicycle hire is free and only takes five minutes to get to the temple. Staff are super friendly and will help with transport and other arrangements.

Noisy and poorly designed room”
Very easy to find, if you're on a budget just take the Danri bus at the airport and you'll be dropped at the Borobudur entrance, if you look left you can see the Cempaka sign and walk two blocks till destination. They can arrange the sunrise at Borobudur package and even drop you at the location no charges. The room is problematic because it barely accomodates the bed, it's devided 50/50 with the bathroom, and the wardrobe and coffe table are in the bathroom. So if you need to spread your things you have to go back and forth from your bed to your bathroom. If you don't want to wake up early for the Borobudur sunrise unlucky you, because the muezzim will wake you up at four anyway and right behind the hotel. The staff is fantastic and the bathtub everything you could ask for at the end of the day.

All-rounded enjoyment”
I had a wonderful time at the Villa. The location was great and the rooms are reasonable clean. I love the room setup, with generous divider to separate the bathroom and the sleeping area. It was perfect as a resting place for Borobudur and hikes in the area. There are both indoor and outdoor sitting area. It's perfect for alfresco dinning or just a gathering if it rains. The staff were friendly and well-trained in hospitality. Food was decent and the chef is opened to suggestion and changes. It was fantastic. I had a great time.

Clean, cozy and comfortable”
Situated within 10 to 15 mins walking distance to the Borobudur Temple, the villas here were most cozy, comfortable and clean. There's a restaurant which serves reasonably tasty food at reasonable prices. Staff here are friendly and helpful. There's a mini market less than 5 mins walk away.

An enjoyable stay”
We arranged for the hotel to pick us up from airport, which they did with additional charge of 300 000rupiah which is reasonable enough considering that the hotel takes an hour plus to reach from the airport, and we arrived late in the evening and were just glad to be collected straight away to the hotel. The driver ujang is also very helpful and suggested best ways to make the most of our stay in Borobudur apart from going to Borobudur itself. Hotel room was very comfortable , not spacious but who needs the extra space anyway, the bathtub is divine and large window gives nice view to Javanese garden outside. We walked to the Borobudur entrance which is not very far but we felt overwhelmed by huge crowd turning up taking advantage of eid holiday. Best not to pick peak season to visit Borobudur next time. Staffs are very helpful and gracious. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone planning to visit historical Borobudur but again do not go during peak season! Hahaha
