Traveling to Germany? Find Dresden hotels

Stayed for a night in Dresden before heading to Prague. The hotel is amazing. Used to work in another Kempinski- managed hotel so I decided to stay here and it was amazing. Though the valet is quite expensive for €25, it was fine. Very close to everything. And the restaurant serves amazing German food downstairs at Pauliner. If ever I'm going back to Dresden, will definitely stay here and nowhere else.

Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich genial. Neben der Frauenkirche gelegen im Herzen von Dresden. Das Zimmer war angenehm gross und das Bett sehr bequem. Einzig die Dusche ist eher klein ausgefallen. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und wirklich toll. Der grösste Kritikpunkt meinerseits dass man für den Besuch des Pools/Whirlpool separat bezahlen muss. Trotzdem für einen Besuch von Dresden nur zu empfehlen!!!

Zimmer war groß und sauber, lediglich das Bad ist etwas klein gehalten. Die Lage in direkter Nähe zum Großen Garten und mit der S Bahn 8 Minuten vom Altmarkt entfernt ist somit sehr gut. Das Hotel ist nicht mehr das jüngste und im Vergleich zum Dormero Berlin hat es uns auch vom Zimmerdesign und der Konzeptgestaltung nicht ganz so überzeugt. Personal war stets sehr freundlich. Frühstücksbuffet können wir nicht beurteilen, da wir dieses nicht genutzt haben

Pullman Dresden is only a 3 minute walk from Dresden Hbf. It is situated at one end of a main shopping/eatery boulevard which extends all the way to the Old Town. It is about 4-5 tram stops away from the Old Town, and about 6-8 tram stops away from the area across the river (where the famous milk shop is) but it is all within quick and easy reach as there is a tram stop right outside the hotel, and the public transport in Dresden is excellent and not too pricey. The rooms were on the small side, but the hotel is relatively new and the design and decor were excellent. Clean, brightly lit rooms with full height windows made the stay feel very pleasant. Breakfast was also good value for money, with great variety and quality of food (again for the price). Nothing you'd expect like a 5 star spread, but still we enjoyed our breakfast thoroughly.

We did not use the hotel much as we spent the time sightseeing. On arrival, the GPS lead us to the front of the hotel, where it is a shopping plaza. As we were early for check-in, the staff tried to advise where to find parking, and mentioned that the parking did not belong to the hotel, so the cost would be ours. As the directions were not very clear, we settled for the mall parking, which was the nearest. We later found out after checking in that the closest lot was located at the opposite entrance. If this information would have been provided more clearly, either pointing to the other entrance, guiding to the other entrance, or providing a map, this would have been much appreciated. We wasted a bit of what little time we had in beautiful Dresden looking for this parking lot, but otherwise, our stay at Ibis Bastei met all our expectations and requirements (except the wifi is not free). Location is not far from City Centre and close to a beautiful train station, set inside a shopping plaza with modern international brands. It's a good blend.

The AandO Dresden Hauptbahnhof Hotel/Hostel in Dresden is a happy and efficiently run and well-organized business. It is located in a completely and successfully re-cycled office block. Everything is very functional and security has been given a high priority. Rooms are small, but well-appointed. The place is great value for money, particularly since it is located within 500 metres of the main railway station.

After extensive travelling through Saxony we were lucky enough to be able to spend a couple of days in Dresden, but had made no prior booking. We sound this at a very reasonable price and we’re delighted with the great location, and clean , spacious, efficient accommodation. We were sad we could only spend one night, due to prior bookings in Berlin. Yes we would definitely recommend this to people looking for a comfortable haven in Dresden.

The studio apartment that we rented was spectacular, and the staff were absolutely great. The apartment was beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable, and right in the centre of the old town. The directions on how to reach the apartment block was a little challenging due to some road closures because of the Christmas Market, but it was great having parking underneath the apartment despite the somewhat high cost. Everything you need is more or less on your doorstep, and Dresden is a beautiful city. We would certainly stay here again, and look forward to returning to Dresden in the future.

I have used the ibis chain in the UK quite a bit and compared to them this Ibis in Dresden was less satisfactory. primarily because it didn't offer free Wi-Fi. Apparently there was free Wi-Fi from the lobby for 1 hour but the receptionist didn't explain it properly and I logged-on to a different system (none of the systems was called Ibis or anything obvious so I went for the "cloud") which offered daily rates and a rate per minute. I assumed that the first hour would be free of the per minute usage. Similarly, I hired a bike and they charged for the last hour as well even when I used only 10 minutes of it. I didn't try their breakfast (11 euros) so I don't know what value for money that is. I saw a nice buffet breakfast closer to the Schloss Museum for 8.50 although it didn't include cooked things. I ate at a sandwich with a coffee at a cafe next door for about 5. The location of the Ibis hotels is excellent; 5 minutes from the train station and less than 10 from the museums and the Old Town. The parking is also easy and reasonably priced. But if you are driving to the hotel, put Reinbahnstrasse in to the GPS because Prager Strasse (the Hotel's online address) is pedestrian access only. The receptionist at check-in was the friendliest and most helpful, the others were less so.

The hotel is at good location in Dresden, almost all the famous spots in the downtown is within the walking distance, especially that it only takes about 5 mins walk to roam around the beautiful riverside. There are plenty paitings/art within the hotel and the room. Free wireless is available on a per day request basis to the front desk. The hotel staff is kind and warm.

this hotel is good because it location is in the centrum of old dresden(surely the major tourist attractin of old town of dresden.when you feel tired from visit palace, museum and shopping you can go back to your room for some relaxation.The bad part of this hotel at this moment ( and for the whole town of dresden) is thre are too much construction and renovation surrounding the hotel . In my oppinion may be after 2 years every thing shold be finished and that period shold be the best period of visitting dresden.

the duty manager, Amanda and the receptionist, Janice, promised my room request of twin beds upon my luggage drop-off at the hotel at 11:00 am before the formal check-in time. However, they did not write down my request confirmation in record. When I checked in at 19:00, the staff on duty replied Amanda did not handover the information to him and there was no more twin bedroom available during my check-in time. When I asked to have direct conversation with Amanda, the staff said both were off duty and would only come back on Monday when I had left Dresden. Really irresponsible staff who are representing the hotel!!

The day before we arrived in Dresden we were emailed excellent directions from the hotel.  They explained, very clearly, how to get from the train station to the hotel using public transport.  A short train ride and then a tram which drops you off very near the hotel.  The check-in was smooth and we were assigned a room on the ground floor which measured up to the Best Western standards.  Decent size room, good linens, and very clean.  Tea and coffee making facilities are provided on request, there is free WiFi throughout the hotel at no extra charge, and there is coffee 'to- go' available at the front desk till 10 am.  Help yourself! The staff at the front desk could not have been better.  Very helpful with our many queries.  Always very curteous.  Made a few phone calls for us as we do not speak German.  They even sell public transport tickets which makes it very convenient. The hotel has a bar and restaurant but we chose to eat in town.  I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Innside by Melia is a high quality design / butique / business hotel, which caters to the mid-upper class of travelers, sometimes verging on luxury. It's situated right in the heart of Dresden, almost all of the views are in easy walking distance, no need to bring a car. Service is smooth and highly impersonal, do not expect the warmness of a small family run inn, which are so characteristic of south east Germany. The design is impecable, rooms are spacious, well thought through and spottless. You are surrounded by high quality objects, from your bathroom tub through the leather sofa in your room to the bathroom amenities - in harmony with the image and the price of the place. Breakfast is nice, but you can find fabulous restaurants not too far away, so you might want to skip it (at EUR per person it's on par with a Bib Gourmand restaurant). Nonetheless, the experience is remarkable, it's comparable to driving a high end German car - none of the personality of an Alfa, but none of the flaws either.

the nh dresden hotel is a modern property with comfortable rooms offering substantial space that could be, in my opinion, utilized better. while i liked the shower and bath tub, i felt that the closets and storage areas were too small. i managed without problem to organize my articles of clothing because i only stayed two nights - a longer stay would have surely required me to keep some things in the suitcase. staff are very courteous and professional.

First appearances are deceiving. It looks ramshackle untidy messy. But hostel has character and it grows on you. Other guests extremely friendly helpful. Seems like a big family. I loved my stay here and would use them again. My only complaint is distance from old city. But tram service is good. The staff is the best I have encountered in ten weeks of staying at hostels. Very knowledgeable about Dresden I give it six stars

It was not near to the railway and tram station,far from tourist points. Sign board is not so clear to find. You have better get back hostel before too late at night. This is hostel not hotel,you need to pay another charge for sheets. There are two parts of residence.I stayed so large and comfortable room with balcony for the price. Accommodation also good and clean.

The room has all the bases and reasonably comfortable. The staff is very friendly and willing to communicate with the guests in English even though their spoken English is limited. However, the hotel also does not have a lot of features that a typical hotel has, such as free internet, coffee and tea maker, a refrigerator, flat-panel TV, cable channels and a fitness room. On the other hand, the room rate is only 44 euros. At this low rate, it is quite forgivable that it doesn't have these more luxurious features. My main complaint is the location of the hotel. There aren't any real restaurants within walking distance, except for the one inside the hotel and a bakery/cafe at a 7-minute walk from the hotel. On the other hand, the tram is only at a 6 minutes walk away. It can take you anywhere in Dresden once you get on it. I will definitely stay in this hotel again for the value.
