Traveling to Thailand? Find Koh Kood hotels

The hotel at a year old is still being built. Overall we enjoyed this hotel. Rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable. Individual remote controlled a/c does it's job well. Lobby and beach restaurants are excelllent. Beautiful beach, killer sunsets. Stangely the pool was built at the lobby level of the resort instead of down the hill at the beach which makes it almost useless. Pier arrival and access roads to the hotel are not for the faint of heart. The tide level in the afternoon when we arrived required a short step climb onto the pier but bags were handled by boat and beach staff. Cons: Internet reception was lousy except near the lobby and beach restaurant. Strange since they are equipped with high definition tv reception. The hotel like most of the hotels in Koh Kood is isolated from what little there is to do on the island. No nightlife to speak of. We rented a hotel moterbike for two days to see the island and it was well worth it. A note of caution however, I have been riding all types of motorcycles for forty years and still the rutted dirt "road" from the hotel to the "highway" was was a challenge for me with two of us on board. Part of the island's roads are not paved and the ones that are are very narrow. Use extreme caution, riding here the roads take a toll on the bikes. We got a flat tire going down a hill and barely skidded into a motorbike repair shop. My girlfriend is Thai so we got fixed for 5 bucks and were on our way 20 minutes later. Rustic might be a good way to describe the few villages and beautiful waterfalls. There are a few police posts and even a small hospital with an ambulance but I would advise being in good health before coming here to avoid a medical evac for anything serious. At night you are stuck at the resort with it's excellent restaurant. Even I wouldn't venture out on that road at night on a motorbike which is also against their policy. Not that there is anyplace to go. Overall good experience for 4-5 days max.

The Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort was exactly as we had hoped it would be. Quiet with a lovely beach. We booked an ocean front cottage which was expensive but worth it to wake up each day and see the ocean. The resort is remote and you need to rent a motorbike to get around. We tried walking into the village for dinner one night and it was very dark, hot and about 1.5 kms. Not worth it. Note: there are two ATMs on the island and one would not work with our North American card. Apparently the other would but we didn’t get to it. The resort has a lovely pool, kayaks, and 1 stand up paddle board. The bay is quiet and the water is warm so no need to swim anywhere else. There are poolside chairs, beach chairs and massage and gym on site. The hotel booked a snorkel trip to another island which was well worth it.

at first, i was deeply impressive about the landscape in koh kood island and the natural beach resort as well where have a natural beach with crystal water in internal beautiful bay that you can swim and punt kayak for discovering other resorts or some other places…i bet you will feel that you’re adventure at once ^^…. , the resort have nice design style with natural material as wood, rattan, bamboo… which made me feel that it looks like i’m in my countryside (vietnam). the general of resort service is fine, the restaurant is really perfect with delicious and special taste for each kinds of course in every meals, the staffs and the boss there are nice people and helpful who always try to provide their best service they could in order to make the guests feel comfortable and satisfied… however, for the standard of 03 star resort is necessary to work on it a little bit, the condition of room and environment are needed to upgrade some points as make clean room, take care the trees in garden usually, fumigate into clump and wet places recurrently where have a lot of mosquito ….in the end, i enjoyed my holidays in the natural beach resort without any complaint, i recommend this resort to every travelers who like the natural life style, peaceful and romantic,….otherwise, according to my view, this resort is one of few best choices for you in koh kood island especially if you will come there as a couple ^^

If you’re looking for a crowd on the beach and want to fight for a sun-bed this is not a place for you. Rest sea resort is one of a kind, where quiet, chill out and relax have the right meaning. The resort is placed in the south of the island, next to a little fishing village, where is a shop and home restaurant. You can rent a motorbike to visit a places and restaurants on the island. All the staff is very courteous and helpful. The rooms are very clean and beautiful. The resort provides its own natural cosmetics with unbelievable fragrances. What was very nice all the drinks and snacks in the room were complimentary. The resort is quite small what makes it more valuable. The beach is very nice, cleaned by the staff everyday - unfortunately sometimes after the raining the sea brings a lot of trashes, it was very sad view but the staff was cleaning the beach all the time to make it clean and beautiful. We were here for 7 nights and really it was an unforgettable time. The places like the Rest Sea Resort are not very common in Thailand so you should take an opportunity to spend there a time!

With this price, Siam hut is best value for money for beach side bungalow in Thailand. Location is superb. All bungalow come with sea view on the most beautiful and safest beach in Koh Kood. Room is super clean and equipped with necessary amentities. With this best deal price, Siam hut offer free bottle water , soap, shampoo, towel, shower cap. All of these are not normally provided by other budget resorts. Highly recommended!!

After a few days in busy Bangkok, which I enjoyed very much, i moved to Koh Kood for a few days. I Had booked the Away Koh Kood resort an i was really happy with the decision. Due to maintenance work - understandable for the low season - near by to the villa that i had booked, the resort gave me an upgrade to an ocean view villa at the beach. It was really beautiful. Beautifully buildt, spacious and with a view you will remember for a long time. The staff is very friendly and i'm not only saying that because of the upgrade that i have received. They helped me with planning a sightseeing trip of the island and advised me good on how to get to Cambodia. The resort has kayaks that you can use for free. I used one to go the waterfall close bye. I loved the resort and the eoole working for it.

My wife and I spent two weeks in Thailand for our honeymoon, traveling from Bangkok to Koh Kood then Koh Chang. Tinkerbell was the best place we stayed the entire trip. I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and I can say, without a doubt, that Tinkerbell was one of the best places I have ever been. Next to White Haven Beach in Australia this is the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The staff was phenomenal. From Ban, who ran the whole operation. Alex, the bartender. And even Née, who I believe headed up housekeeping, our experience was amazing. Every need was met immediately and we felt welcomed and pampered the entire time. After hearing we were on our honeymoon Alex said he could set up a table on the beach for my wife and I to have a private dinner. He even set up a small stereo to set the mood while we ate and personally, with Ban's help, took care of our meal. All of this without any additional charge or expectation except that they wanted us to have a great stay. I was able to arrange a kayak, scooters and even in room massages without any warning and it was done with a smile. On a trip with too many highlights to count our whole experience at Tinkerbell out shone ever other aspect of the trip. Thanks Ban, Alex and all the staff at this amazing romantic retreat!

+Excellent stay - clean new room, outside shower with hot water, small but with great view swimming pool -- fantastic. +all minibar beverages were included(1 of cola, sprite, fanta, Leo beer, orange juice, 2 water, 2 instant noodles). Oh, condoms (pack of 3Durex) were included. +Water sports included(paddle board, kayak,snorkeling,fins,fish food) +Staff was helpful, with very limited english -- it is always a laugh to communicate with them :) +Phear (Pipi) staff member was superb!! He spoke good english and helped us with water sports, fish food, carrying the boards and kayak. +best internet of all the 5 hotels we were in Thailand (skype and facetime worked nice) +transfer to Koh Kood hotel for free. -breakfast really poor for the price -staff was there but could not communicate much. -lack of shade on the pool and beach - if clear sky you wont last long on the towel. :)

We spent 3 nights at the Koh Kood Beach Resort, and we loved every minute of it. There aren't too many rooms, so it's not crowded and every room is afforded a beautiful view of the sea. The rooms themselves are quite basic - bed, fridge, TV and an outside bathroom, which is cool for looking at the stars, but not so good if you don't like dealing with creepy-crawlies in the middle of the night. The staff at Koh Kood Beach Resort are excellent! They are friendly and helpful - they can also arrange for a trip to the waterfall in the area, which is cheap and definitely worth a look (the nicest waterfall I have seen so far in Thailand) The beach is so-so, but if you have the energy, a 20 minute (free)kayak ride will get you to a true 'paradise beach' - no rocks, no little jellyfish, no rubbish - just soft white sand and crystal clear water (you'll have it all to yourself if you go early enough!) My 8 year old son loved the swimming pool, which ranges from very shallow to 2 metres, so you must supervise kids, but it's clean and overlooks the ocean. Lastly, I'll mention the restaurant. The food in the hotel is fantastic! A word of warning - there are, at the moment of writing, no ATMs on Koh Kood, so make sure you take plenty of cash! I'd say that Koh Kood is like a lot of places in Thailand used to be like 10-15 years ago... Great!

If you love to experience the activities at the beach/sea, I highly recommended Captain Hook. The staff is SUPER friendly and they do MORE than their job, (TRUST ME! it's not because of tips but they have their value of service mind!) We stay in Pool Villa room. We loved it! The panorama view from the sea and the pool is in front of our room. We love the way that hotel create the room which is friendly with nature. If you are not prefer the room is more modern so book the mini pool modern, instead. Kayaking, snorkeling, REAL swimming in the sea with the staff are what we really love it here. We bought 2 days and 1 night package and we really love the food! fresh and delicious...the food can be too much! but it's great for people who love to experience different type of foods. We definitely stay here again, if we come back to Koh Kood.

I've read different reviews about the resort but my opinion is that it's a real paradise! Afterwards we stayed at other resorts on Koh Kood but they were much worse for diffrent reasons and for the same or even higher prices. First of all the resort has its own bay so you feel cozy. The territory is really beautiful with its wooden bridges, torches and palm trees. The restaurant has a very nice terrace facing the sea. There is a swimming pool (however we never tried it because we prefer swimming in the sea). Breakfasts are included and they are tasty. The bay is a perfect place for snorkelling. There's more fish than in other far away spots and the fish are not afraid of you at all. The have kayaks and paddling boards for rent (I fell in love with the latest). And the last thing to m ention: our bungalow exceeded our expectations! We took the cheapest one, on agoda it is called a bungalow with a fan. But there was an A/C and a fridge and a safe! Highly recommended

The beach is fantastic and very secluded. The intimacy, privacy and personal touch. Hands down the best five star resort in Koh Kood. Very calm and relaxing. Helpful staff. Nice restaurants and spa. Really is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the company of great food and great service. A little on the expensive side but for what you get totally worth it. Amazing food in Italian restaurant! Great pizza and Caesar salad-must try! This part of the beach in one of the best in Koh Kood.

My husband and I spent 3 days in a Cliff Villa to end off our Honeymoon trip to Asia and WOW…what a finale! Soneva Kiri is truly the most beautiful place we have ever had the privilege to stay. From the very easy glide through airport check-in and security with one of their representatives, to the flight over to their private airfield on a small 8 seater plane (quite an experience!!) to the speedboat trip to the island and then being met by our Ms Friday with our personal golf buggy. It felt like being Royalty! The villa itself was breathtaking – spacious decked living areas with huge sofas everywhere, a beautiful pool looking over the sea with steps down to your own private beach, an outdoor bathroom with sunken bath and outdoor shower and a couple of day beds to relax on afterwards. This resulted in me (a 41 year old woman) running round the villa like a child at Christmas – I was that excited! The owners have really gone the extra mile in thinking of everything that they could offer to make people feel totally pampered from a pillow and duvet menu, to a fragrance choice for the shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. The team at Soneva Kiri were amazing…nothing was too much trouble and they were so attentive without being intrusive – a perfect balance. The Food and Beverage team did an incredible job – the buffet breakfast was the most comprehensive and tasty we've ever had and the setting was stunning. We ate dinner in The View restaurant on our first evening and the steak was so soft you could have cut it with a butter knife…it truly melted in the mouth and the wine recommendation was spot on. We had booked to eat in the tree pod on our final night. When I checked the set menu it was predominately fish/seafood which I don't eat. That was no trouble for the team though who asked us to substitute any fish dishes for other favourites of ours. The tree pod was an amazing experience. Suanya Koh Kood Resort consists of lovely two storey houses, with two separate rooms each, surrounded by nicely cultivated tropical vegetation. Our ground floor room was bright, comfortable and clean, with TV, air-condition and refrigerator. The bathroom seemed a bit damp but we changed for another room and it was perfect. Suanya has a 'spa' in the name but there is no spa service. There is, however, a beautiful private beach, beach bar and a restaurant with Wi-Fi, serving thai meals. I would recommend Suanya to all those, who are looking for a peaceful beach resort with simple but comfortable rooms.

We found The Sunshine Resort to be a great place to stay on Koh Kood. Property is large and bungalows have nice spacing so they are not packed in together like some resorts. The breakfast wasn't stellar but was good enough. Scooters are almost a must for anywhere on Koh Kood if you wish to get out away from any chosen resort to explore the island so don't let the location dissuade your visit. The restaurant prices are also very reasonable. In addition if you are looking at visiting Koh Kood you are looking at the nicest island that I have ever visited in Thailand hands down!

Seafar was a lovely place to stay on Koh Kood. Our accomodations were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The resort was nicely located right on the beach, with a long boardwalk and a good, clean strip of sand. The pool was very nice, and was lit at night, making it a nice place to hang out for the entirety of the day. The resort restaurant had good food for dinners (though it was a little pricey--there are cheaper options on the road outside the resort). The breakfast provided was simple, but good; they had cereals, eggs, good pancakes, fruit, and an assortment of Thai food. The resort also had bread, butter, and jams out all day with a toaster, along with hot water and packets of coffee, tea, and Milo. This little snack area was kept neat, clean, and covered, and came in handy. There was drinking water available for free all day every day. The resort staff were able to call taxis if needed, and there are also motorbikes for rent.

Simple room, easy services, it was a real pleasure to spend some days there. No need to move, everything is there. Food was delicious, people were so welcoming. I couldn’t imagine to go back in Koh Kood without going in Dusita. It’s a quiet place with a magnificent beach, no pool but no need. You can rent a scooter from Dusita for 300 baht a day and they can book for you transfer to an other island or to bangkok. The transfer was good.

The hotel is a charming small hotel (11-12 bungalows) right on a beautiful beach in Koh Kood. The bungalows are set in a lush garden, nicely furbished and clean, with big bathroom and comfortable bed. The staff is extremely helpful. Good breakfast with 1-2 local dishes and the usual western food. Hotel restaurant is very good too on a reasonable price, excellent for dinners right next to the beach. The whole island is very remote, the hotel too, which means that you have to rent a scooter to get to other restaurants or visit other places. But this we knew when chosing our destination, and we very much enjoyed a tottaly peaceful, relaxed vacation with amazing snorkelling experiences

Mr. Jay is an extraordinary individual who provided my gf and I one of the most memorable vacations of our life. The Room was emmaculate and very spacious. The attention to detail was something to really marvel. The bed is so comfortable and as a bonus you can purchase the sheets and pillows to bring back to your home (which we did)! As this hotel is in the beginning stages Jay pays extra attention to everything in order to make the guest feel special. This is my 5th time on Koh Kood and by far the most comfortable of my stays. Don't hesitate and book with Mr. Jay. You will be happy you did. Enjoy Koh Kood (paradise on earth)

We were staying 8 days Sunshine on the rock. The bungalos was brand new. The territory is exceptionally well maintained, beautifull look, the rooms are good equiped and really clean. They have scooter rental with new scooters in good condition and good price if you rent them for several days. The staff is super friendly! The only thing that anoyed us is the brekafast, that has 4 options and not so good coffee. We took a lunch several times at the restaurant, and it was quite ok in quality / price. But othervise, I can definitelly recomend this hotel. After staying in Sunshine on the Rock we moved for 6 days in another resort, that was a litle bit pricier, but comparing with Sunshine on the Rock, it was total disapointment... If we will visit Koh Kood once again, we will definitely stay in Sunshine on the rock!!!

This is without a doubt the best place I have ever stayed. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly - we had many good chats with Pang and Mark. They are able to accommodate anything you want! They will organise a massage for you at the hotel, rent you a moped to explore the island and even help you with travel arrangements before you arrive and after you leave. The place itself is set on a river which leads down to a small beach cove, which has clean sand and beautiful clear, warm sea water. It is so peaceful and tranquil when in the lounge area, you can relax in the hammock and just listen to the sound of the river and the wildlife. The island of Koh Kood is small and remote, so it is well worth hiring a moped and going out to explore the myriad of waterfalls and beaches on offer - one of the most lovely beaches I have ever seen is on Khlong Chao Bay, which is about a 15 minute moped journey south of Bann Makok. We have only just arrived back from Thailand and are already planning our next stay at Bann Makok :)

Pros Without a doubt, this property has one of the best beautiful beaches in Koh Kood. - Crystal clear water. - Long smooth white sand beach. - No rocks obscured sight. - No shells cut your bare feet. - The food tastes quite good. - Friendly staffs. - Very relaxing, away from the busy life. Cons However, there are some issues. - The bathroom is quite disappointing. - Traveling is rather difficult from the pier and other check-points on the island. - No grocery store on site. Anyway, the beach here is something you can't miss when visiting Koh Kood. You can overlook other flaws by its beauty.

We stayed in garden view bungalow. The bed is hard as concrete, no closet or even a shelf in the room for your belongings, AC is noisy and it's remote constantly bugs. No room service, if you need a toilet paper or to change a towel you go and ask yourself, and the room wasn't cleaned in 5 days at least once. Location is good though and the bike rent is cheap onsite. Overall experience was quite disappointing as it wasn't our first stay in Thailand and for that money we usually got more comfort.

Booked a smaller room and took the option for a bigger one on arrival. No view as such from the room around the side from the Klong and certainly none from the room itself. It was a comfortable stay. Go for the bigger room as the others are so tiny. Had a great little break. This island is lovely and warrants a little exploring. The ‘homestay’ isn’t near any action to speak of but there are some little restaurants and motorbikes are available. Enjoy enjoyed

We stayed in a first row bungalow with a view over the bay and the little fishing village Ao Salad. The room was clean and there was enough space to get your luggage in the right place. The family is really nice and tries to do everything to get you a really beautiful stay. Breakfast is given at the platform where the restaurant is located in. You get toast and yam and everyday there are warm dishes which are different every day - but really tasty. Also the dishes in the restaurant are really tasty and not expensive too. You can rent a motorbike directly or get your laundry done. From here you can also book a snorkeling trip or go squid fishing which is really good priced and makes a lot of fun. All in all we would like to stay there again.
