"We are in our late sixties and travelled with friends who are in their mid seventies and early eighties. We feel that elderly guests should be made aware before they book that Chicamba View cottage has very steep stairs both up to the cottage and inside and really isn't suitable for those whose mobility is impaired. Having said that, our friends stayed happily in the downstairs bedroom while we negotiated the stairs to the first floor bedroom where we were very comfortable. The lodge has incredible views over the mountains towards Mozambique and comfortable chairs on the lower verandah and upper decks from which to enjoy them. Better still than the views is the magnificent forest literally on the doorstep - we enjoyed a wonderful walk through it with Roger, our genial and attentive host. All in all, a very happy stay but be warned, the road to the lodge is in very poor condition - best leave the Ferrari at home and choose something with high clearance and tough tyres! The road to the lodge is a challenge "
