"The reception guy is unapologetic, we booked and paid for Bohemian tour a night before the tour but he sent us to Buzios beach. The whole day of that tour is ruined for we spent much of traveling 180km from and to Rio. Upon reaching the hotel, the reception guy just say sorry without sincerity."

"For the price, Royal Rio was quite a good hotel. The location was great - about a 3- or 4min walk to the beach and close to restaurants, bars, launry facility and a supermarket. Clean and spacious rooms and staff were helpful most of the time. There was a huge variety of choice at breakfast and they were flexible with timing. The pool was located on the rooftop and, despite being small, it was clean and modern and had a nice atmosphere. "

"We were in Rio for Carnaval and although BW was in the heart of Ipanema, just a short walk from Copacabana beach, it was still quiet & relaxing so you could escape the hectiness of all the street parties. The breakfast was superb with fancy ingredients and during one of the days, we were even surprised with 3 stunning samba dancers who came in to teach us how to samba! What a way to kick off such a festive week! Love love loved our stay at Best Western :) "

"We were 4 people, 2 adults and two kids/teens. The location is very good, close to the best spot in the Copacabana's beach. If you rent a car, remember that the park is near 10€/day, otherwise it's impossible to park nearby. The safe is 2€/day and it's big enough to keep the small cameras, mobile phones and other important docs you need to keep. You can easily go by car to the Pão de Açúcar. "

"Perhaps I am spoiled by hotels in Asia because I was surprised at how basic and dated this Hilton seemed. The location is very good - right on the beach in Copacabana - although I heard from some colleagues that Copacabana is not the best area of Rio so I suggest some further investigation on location. Hotels in Rio are very expensive, but again I am comparing to places like Bangkok. The cleanliness was so-so: There were several black hairs in my shower the entire time I was there, and I am a blond. The staff were very friendly and helpful however. The facilities were fine - again, a bit dated. Also, the roof pool area on top of the building was closed the only time I tried to visit (at sunset my last day)"
