We stayed 4 nights, the location of the room (512) was next to houskeeping, so doors banging, loud noises. I don't understand why housekeeping is located on same floor as guest. Food at sky bar need improvment, given the costs. A dry, tough kebak is not what one expect from a 5 star hotel. Strange smell in toilet- no extractor fan- so we had to leave the door open all the time. No free WI FI is quite disappointing. Everywhere else we stayed in Namibia offered free WI FI and those hotels were not 5 star. Also, expecting guest to pay for parking at $N60 a day is quite shocking. We decided to treat ourselves for the last few days in Namibia and so glady spent the extra for a 5 star.. but were left a bit disappointed. Also, upon checking in we discovered the previous guests had raided the mini bar. It took 2 phone calls to reception before someone was finally send to note the missing drinks. The mini bar was never re-stocked for the remainder of our stay. So 5 star, I think not.

The Swakopmund hotel is my preferred hotel in Swakopmund, where I have visited more than 20 times in the last 3 years. My client generally makes my reservation, this time I did, through Agoda, and got a better rate! It is nice, clean, comfortable, with good facilities and location. The in-room Wi-Fi generally works very well, there was a slight glitch this time as they were changing over to a different system and the lack of availability took half a day to rectify. The 300g (10oz) Fillet steak with green pepper sauce I had was absolutely superb, so good I had it 2 nights in a row. I 'paraded' the chef to tell him so. And only US$12. The only problem with the hotel is that it is so popular with (mainly German/European) tourists that I sometimes cannot get in for the dates I want and have to use other hotels.

I simply wanted a decent place to stay for 2 nights over a weekend. The Agoda special price was a steal. The hotel is all as described in the review heading. There is no restaurant or bar, they are not needed because plenty of outside options nearby, and who patronizes hotel bars and restaurants anyway? That said, the breakfast was very good and plentiful. The rooms are spacious and have nice very touches with gowns, slippers, fridge, coffee station, toiletries, fridge and safe, along with a large flat screen tv with a mid-range satellite bouquet. Wifi I did not try but imagine that would be good as well. All in all, very satisfied and will use the hotel again

We were a group of 6 all over 60 and upon arrival, one of our toilets was leaking. The staff was accommodating and made a change of cabins and all was well. We would have liked an individual kettle and cups in each cabin, however, we were given a kettle to use in the bama - problem solved. We enjoyed the festive bar-b-que evening planned by the Lodge and the breakfasts were delicious. The vista was breathtaking!,

Our family stayed over for 1 night at Paragon Cresent Suites. On arrival between 4h30pm - 4h45pm there was no one to welcome us at the reception / administration office to ensure a smooth check-in. I had to ask for assistance for another company on the same premises to please assist us, the lady then informed me that Paragon Cresent Suites' office are closed for the day. A bit taken away, by them being fully aware of our booking, and still they closed early for the day. The lady from the other company then thankfully assisted me by getting the key from the Cresent Cafe on the same property and not being her duty at all then show me to our apartment for the night as well as made sure that all is in order. Second disappointment came in, when one of my main reasons for booking this apartment was to have complimentary wi-fi. With no-one at the Admin office whilst checking in, I could not ask for the wi-fi password, and therefore we could not make use of it. There is a beautiful booklet on display in the room about the luxury apartments, explaining that there is wi-fi and all other amenities included, but with no-one to offer you the service, I feel hugely disappointed with my booking. We stayed in the apartment above the Cresent Cafe, which was rather noisy early the following morning. Just before 7am they started playing their music so loud and getting ready for the day. All you hear is banging chairs and moving table as well as the LOUD music, word for word and it only stopped at 8am. (When all other offices were open for trading as well) The apartment block is located in a very busy street, so if you looking for a quiet place to spend a few days this will not be the place for you. If I need to review the apartment only....it would be a good review, the apartment was spotlessly clean, lovely inviting and calming aroma from the diffusers when you enter the apartment. Beautiful, neat, luxurious attention to detail with the decor.

The hotel was excellent value for money and exceeded all expectations. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The let us check in early and upgraded us to a room with a view when we arrived. The breakfast set up is fantastic with so much delicious food and great service. All in all a great way to end our Namibia vacation.

On our recent trip to Namibia we stayed for two nights an Pension Steiner, both at the beginning and at the end of our stay. It is a quiet, pleasant small hotel tucked away at the end of a quiet street in the central city. It is easy to walk to other central attractions and one of the main shopping malls is literally opposite the hotel. The staff were very helpful, both in booking restaurants etc. and quickly arranging for a fault in a wardrobe to be fixed. Breakfast can be enjoyed from the buffet - with cooked eggs on request - and eating it on tables in the garden near the small swimming pool makes an excellent start to the day. It is easy to understand why Pension Steiner is so popular with small groups touring around Namibia: a perfect place to begin and end one's stay!

My husband and me spent two good nights at Beach Lodge. Because it was a rather short notice booking, we had to accept a standard room, as all the suites were fully booked. As a standard room, it pleasantly surprised us ! It had a lovely private balcony and the totally unspoilt views of the beach was utterly beautiful, both from the balcony and our bed alike ! The bathroom is rather small and basic, but was clean and provided in our needs. Because of an ugly and totally senseless courtcase as far as we can understand, the lodge was forced to close it's lovely and elegant restaurant on the 2nd floor. Fortunately it still serves breakfast ( and a very good one) to it's in-house guests. If the view from our 1st floor room and balcony was breathtaking, you can imagine what it is like from the restaurant, one floor higher !! Swakopmund offers enough restaurants to choose from and the lodge staff at the front-desk will gladly advise and do a booking for you. It is hard to believe that the lodge was fully booked while we were there. The absolute peace and tranquility was never disturbed in any way. Closer to "ON the beach", no lodge can be !!

I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming reception and very efficient staff who booked me in for my overnight stay, pre and again post my 6 day tour of Namibia. The room I slept in on my first visit was neat and welcoming. There was a slight leak from the shower which wet the bathroom floor and staff were most appreciative when informed about this. I was given a ground level room on my post tour visit and this was very close to the dining room. Food ordered from the restaurant was very well presented and most affordable. The locally produced Roof Draught was one of the best beers I have consumed. Staff generally were more than willing to accommodate all my needs and I would highly recommend this facility.

Reaching the lodge we were very excited, a lot of wildlife on the way and a beautiful reception area. The chalets were another story all together, a bit outdated and surely more suitable for families that solo travelers. But the worst was the dinner !! As the lodge is far from the city no choice but to eat there. Food was over priced, not enticing and surely not what to expect in Namibia (beef tongue with mustard sauce ...). As for wifi it was down all the time.

Needed to have a hotel on the way to the airport. Trans Kalahari Inn is situated at about 15 minutes drive to Hosea Kutako airport. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel has a nice terrace with spectacular view. The organisation was a little bit chaotic since they had a hard time finding my booking. They worked for about an hour searching their email to find the booking confirmation in their system. Eventually they found it and everything was okay. But imagine this would happen when you are in a hurry to catch an airplane.
