No charm, clean and sterile. Everything is plastic, even the 'wood', or glass, and chrome with white on white. However, very good internet, which is why I choose such a hotel for a couple nights,, to get some work done. Breakfast buffet was average, they offered no eggs and the coffee was among the worst I have ever had. Bring some Nescafe, Im serious it is much better.

Absolute stunningly beautiful - how the hotel is designed and decorated. Maybe that's why I am always going for boutique hotels. Room is surprisingly big with nice beds and very clean. Didn't try the breakfast so no comments. Staff very friendly and check-in was very fast and we were attended twice for room services promptly as well. Overall, we liked the design and the room very much and would recommend the property.

This is a wonderful hotel in Old City. 20 metres from the pedestrian street where you can have a wine and pizza at “Alvarez” or you can drop down to the Puerto Mercado for a meal and shopping spree. The 116 bus from directly across the road takes you into the heart of the new city and down to the beach to see the MONTEVIDEO letters for 39 pesos. They also offer an amazing day trip with a local company to Colonia for US $64 / 2145 Pesos. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and speak some English. Rooms are immaculately clean and modern. Minibar, hairdryer and aircon provided. Breakfast is full and hearty with breads, cornflakes, fruits, meats/cheese and cakes. We loved it here.

This hotel was the last one on a trip that saw me stay at over 17 different hotels in the last two months and it was the cream of the crop! Excellent service by the front desk staff who went out of their way to accomodate guests and always with a smile. I even extended my stay by one night and despite a full-booking was put on the waiting list in case of cancellations and luckily there was one. In the meantime they had organised for me to move to a nearby hotel in case things didn't work out. The location is beautiful - right on the waterfront - and the free bikes they lend out are the best means to get around. Overall a wonderful place to stay and I would definitely stay there again and also recommend it.

I'd give the Radisson 4 1/2 stars. In Montevideo it is probably one of the very best you have to choose from, especially the location. The old town area, just across from the Placa Liberdade is the main attraction of the city and the Radisson is right there on the Placa. You are safe walking there almost anytime of the day or night, lots of police. The wine is excellent as is the theater Solis, close by too, very close.

We found a great price on agoda.com, so decided to treat ourselves to this hotel for our last night in Montevideo. The location isn't very central, but it is close to the beach. The rooms and hotel were modern, had wifi and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioner made some noise, but it didn't bother us. Our room didn't have a very good view, but maybe rooms up higher do. The staff were friendly and helpful. For us, the best part was the breakfast. Most of the breakfasts that we had in Argentina and Uruguay were quite limited in terms of choice, especially when it came to savory options, but this hotel had great choices across the board.

fascinating hotel. good rooms but bathrooms are dated. great views of ocean. given the rambling nature of the hotel, i strongly suggest that would-be guests check out the fire escape routes just in case... service is reserved to cold and hostile. the wait staff in the restaurant get kudos for actually smiling and engaging guests. as is the case in much of south america, staff members seem to resent having to serve. compared with equivalent trophy hotels in europe, the us and east asia, therefore, guests will find their requests not always treated with the respect and courtesy that you might expect. the restaurant has limited menu options but these are solid if unimaginative. unless you have your own transport, you will be staying at the hotel. everything else is a us$30 cab (one way) ride away in punta del este. buses are two kilometers away and not the best option in terms of timing and frequency.

In spite of the fact that Uruguay and Montevideo were having terrible rain storms and that the water was damaging the physical structure of the hotel, the staff and front desk were wonderful in keeping my stay pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. What with the pouring rain I was not able to enjoy the rooftop pool or outside eating areas. There is a good shopping center within walking distance and a casino if one is so inclined. The hotel is close to the Ramba for beachside walking. I most definitely would stay stay at the After again.

The hotel is located in a good best place for tourism in Montevideo. It is close to the main spots: Teatro Solis, Plaza Independencia, Ciudad Vieja and a 10 minutes walk from Mercado de Puerto. In spite they did not change the beddings in four days, the rooms were cleaned everyday. The problem with the room is the bathroom: it gets wet every shower you take. It maybe be really annoying for some people. Regarding the hotel as a whole, the worst part is the breakfast: unlees you go for breakfast by 8 o'clock you will get only some pieces of bread and dirty glasses. The cleaness is also terrible!! The hotel management should take care of this issue, because the hotel is not bad and does not deserve such a breakfast service. As for the swimming pool, the water is not warm.

This is a fabulous hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I extended my stay a few days because of poor weather, and the beautiful decor and atmosphere made it possible to stay inside, enjoy my time, and catch up on work. There is high speed Internet throughout the hotel, and the restaurant is excellent (though pricey). With fantastic views of the sea (you can watch whales from the restaurant), it's the perfect escape, especially if you don't mind being a bit further away from the city. Taxis to and from the city center to the hotel are quite expensive, so this hotel is best if you have a car.

Dingy Room lit by 15watt lights. No tea or coffee making.Stocked minibar consisted of a bottle of water. No Hotel Details in the room. Restaurant didn't open until 8am.Room overlooking the carpark, very basic. Cockroaches on the floor in the restaurant. Whole place had a tired feel Was booked for 2 weeks but left after 4 days but found hotel had debited my credit card on the first day and was unable to get refund for balance of days after leaving for another hotel. I do not regard this place a 4 star, more like 1 star. Access round was flooded making it impossible to get to the Hotel, after contacting a local police station was able to find an alternative route. No help from the hotel whatsoever!

I stayed at this hotel for one night during an exploratory self drive tour of the coastal towns of Uruguay between Montevideo and Jose Ignacio. I picked this hotel for it's history and Grandness. It does have a Casino but I did not visit it. I also missed the breakfast which was included, I believe it was a continental breakfast. One of the best features of this hotel is the hot salt water pools/spa. There are separate pools for men and women. This is a hotel built in grand style with large sweeping staircases and very high ceilings, stained glass windows, etc. My room was on the 3rd floor over looking the ocean. There was a floor to ceiling glass door that opened out onto a balcony where I could sit and watch the sunset. It was beautiful.

We had a good stay, but when entering our room it immediately smelt of damp. We were told that it was a new room and that it shouldn't have any problems. When we asked the following day we were told that for the price we were paying we should be having a worse room- they showed us the other room that was very small and not as well furnished and gave us the choice of moving into that room. We choose to stay in the smelly room but I wasn't impressed with the room that we were supposed to get for our money. The pool is nice and the staff in the restaurant are good. Location is great. But we wanted to store our bags and just use the pool for a couple of hours before we caught our ferry back to Argentina and they charged us an extra 50 dollars. In most places i have stayed in this is provided free of charge. Their recommendation for restaurants were very good and all in all the staff were very good.

I stayed for one night in the Kala Hotel Boutique. Check in was very professional and the room was big, bright and clean. The garden with a - small - pool was perfect to relax and the hotel offers beach facilities at the local beach, a five minutes drive from the hotel. I needed some help from the hotel and was treated very friendly and professional. I would stay there again if coming back to the region of Punta del Este.

Well, 1st of all I could not find the place. There are 2 Posadao Azul's in this very quiet fishing village. I went to the 1st one and the gate was locked,no one home. Stopped at 2 neighbors who said those people had gone away for a few days...and they made lots of phone calls for me trying to figure out what was going on. Finally a very nice gentleman got ahold of the owner of this B&B and offered to escort me to the hotel. Once there, the place is beautiful. The room was clean and quiet with a beautiful garden view. They do have good wifi. The lady of the house does not know how to boil an egg! She said they don't eat eggs in that part of the country? what? So I told her how and she did well enough that I did not send it back. For dinner, no restaurants open off season. I ended up with a tin of herring in tomato sauce and an instant soup. This town is very remote but also very beautiful. I suspect in summer it's a very different experience. It is known for great surfing and other water sports. I would come back to this place if I wanted solitude for writing, or some other quiet pursuit . I cannot speak for summertime as they have good size restaurant that was cooled when I was there, and the hostess says they are very busy.
