No charm, clean and sterile. Everything is plastic, even the 'wood', or glass, and chrome with white on white. However, very good internet, which is why I choose such a hotel for a couple nights,, to get some work done. Breakfast buffet was average, they offered no eggs and the coffee was among the worst I have ever had. Bring some Nescafe, Im serious it is much better...

As expected we have been greatly welcomed and introduced to this boutique hotel (spoken English is good). The staff is super nice and friendly, helpful right away when you need anything. Not exceptional rooms but the environment is pleasant and it's recent and well maintained, very clean. The breakfast is cosy.

Absolute stunningly beautiful - how the hotel is designed and decorated. Maybe that's why I am always going for boutique hotels. Room is surprisingly big with nice beds and very clean. Didn't try the breakfast so no comments. Staff very friendly and check-in was very fast and we were attended twice for room services promptly as well. Overall, we liked the design and th...

This is a wonderful hotel in Old City. 20 metres from the pedestrian street where you can have a wine and pizza at “Alvarez” or you can drop down to the Puerto Mercado for a meal and shopping spree. The 116 bus from directly across the road takes you into the heart of the new city and down to the beach to see the MONTEVIDEO letters for 39 pesos. They also offer an amaz...

It is exactly what you read in other reviews......a beautiful building in the heart of the old town. The internal marble staircase wraps around the ornate, gilded, open lift, which is straight out of Agatha Christie novel. We loved it. Our room was functional, with a big bathroom, in room safe, TV (with a couple of English channels), air con that worked well as a hea...

perfect place to getaway best mattresses, spotless clean, crisp white sheets and reverse cycle air con. nice and quiet with free breakfast and in a great location in the old city. no one staying when I was there so not social but it was a nice break from the grubby dorms rooms.

This hotel is in a great location as the Old Town is very close. Lot of shops and restaurants and historic sights nearby. It’s easy to find bike rental places nearby and to ride down the boardwalk to Carretas and Positos. Would recommend staying here. Breakfast is good, the room was spacious. No complaints.

Interesting lifts with trellis-type inner gate, not seen elsewhere for decades. The reception staff spoke rudimentary English, so you really need some rudimentary Spanish. Woken at six by the horse-drawn dumpster divers in the street. Nothing particularly Palatial, London-related, or obviously Persian about the place, but a pleasant enough stay. Contrary to the descrip...

This hotel was the last one on a trip that saw me stay at over 17 different hotels in the last two months and it was the cream of the crop! Excellent service by the front desk staff who went out of their way to accomodate guests and always with a smile. I even extended my stay by one night and despite a full-booking was put on the waiting list in case of cancellations ...

I stayed here for one night. I chose the hotel for it's proximity to MVD airport (about 20K) in a small beach community outside Motevideo city. The room was small but clean. It had wi-fi and A/C. TV had no English news channels. The hotel is central to the small city and is walking distance to at least one good restaurant. It is just a few blocks walk from the be...

I'd give the Radisson 4 1/2 stars. In Montevideo it is probably one of the very best you have to choose from, especially the location. The old town area, just across from the Placa Liberdade is the main attraction of the city and the Radisson is right there on the Placa. You are safe walking there almost anytime of the day or night, lots of police. The wine is exce...

The hotel room was fine, clean and tidy, ac worked well, tv etc. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good. There was some renovation work goig on during the daytime, but this would only be a tempory thing. The hotel was in the centre of town, I'm not sure I'd have discarded one of my backpack padlocks at the well, top of road though. There were ple...

We had a very nice stay at this hotel, although it was low season and very quiet. The staff did their very best to help us with different questions and making sure we had a nice stay. If you love to party this is not the place but if you like to stay in a nice and quiet place not so far away from were things are happening this a very good place to be.

I had booked this hotel since it was close to Conarad Hotel where conference was taking place. The staff is helpful and good. The hotel has really tiny rooms. So so decor and very passable room facilities. If you can coming for vacation or liesure, look some place else.

The Tres Cruces Hotel is one short block away from the main bus station. This is convenient as the bus from the airport arrives at this station, and buses to places like Colonia also leave from here. City buses to the downtown historic area leave from here also. The breakfast was served from 7-10 a.m. The staff helped with itinerary suggestions and directions. Hig...

Nice breakfast, Great help from staff, Fantastic location between main beaches and a block from main street, Good Internet connection in lobby. Staff gave us ice and a bucket for wine. Meet people in lobby and hooked up with them for a car trip. We were told of a local movie treatre with English movies and good ice cream (Feddos). Excellent stay

We found a great price on agoda.com, so decided to treat ourselves to this hotel for our last night in Montevideo. The location isn't very central, but it is close to the beach. The rooms and hotel were modern, had wifi and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioner made some noise, but it didn't bother us. Our room didn't have a very good view, but maybe rooms...

If you want a pick up from airport you have to arrange with hotel directly. I took the local city bus for 40 pesos then taxi from central bus terminal all safe at night. Taxi from there about 60 peso. Gym and sauna renovation so it's closed. Nice place to recover from jet lag from Australia.
Cheap places to stay in Uruguay

It was quite a distance to walk to the hostel if you have much lugguage; it is close to bus stops and close to the old city; one can actuall walk there. the staff are friendly but oe of the staff members ofte turned the volume of the hi fi to the maimum and his friendly laughter was deafening. It is a good udge hotel wih ensuite bathroom. It offers a big locker in ...

perfect place to getaway best mattresses, spotless clean, crisp white sheets and reverse cycle air con. nice and quiet with free breakfast and in a great location in the old city. no one staying when I was there so not social but it was a nice break from the grubby dorms rooms.

Pros - amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, clean, decent breakfast (carbs and fruit), good WiFi and hangout area Cons - tiny and cramped dorm rooms that smell strongly of mold/mildew. There’s next to no room for your bag. Thankfully I was there in the off season (April), I cannot imagine what these rooms are like when it’s high season and full. There’s not m...

Comfortable, clean, accommodating & kind staff, hot shower, real breakfast & strong wifi. I’m a solo backpacker traveling off season so it was quiet here, but same as everywhere else in Colonia. Would recommend. One suggestion: handsoap in the mixed dorm bathroom please!

talk about service. i have stayed at hotels from the high to the low. while the price for this was quite high for what you get in terms of facilities (major holiday in argentina had driven up the price of everything), all was very comfortable but this will definitely not suit the business, or high-maintenance traveler. while expensive hotels including notables like the...

Punta Del Este is very beautiful and those luck enough to own property here charge accordingly. There are many very expensive hotels and some very expensive and low end hostels. We decided to spend a bit past our flashpacker budget and stay at Florinda for 3 nights. The hotel was well run. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was open for three hours with a nice se...

The overall experience exceeded our expectations. The room was large with all amenities of good standard. A good-sized private balcony was a bonus. The restaurant was pleasant and the breakfast more than adequate by South American standards. A word of warning-not all El Viajero Hotels are of the same standard. We booked ahead to in one in Punta del Este, and it turned ...

In spite of the fact that Uruguay and Montevideo were having terrible rain storms and that the water was damaging the physical structure of the hotel, the staff and front desk were wonderful in keeping my stay pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. What with the pouring rain I was not able to enjoy the rooftop pool or outside eating areas. There is a good shopping cent...

Hotel is well-located, just around the corner of the main shopping street. Nearby there are plenty of options for food and grocery shopping. Room does not have "normal' power sockets and so we had to charge our phone and laptop with the reception (this is what I meant with "update") Shower was of a good heat and power. Unfortunately no water-heater (for tea/coffee) in...

The hotel is located in a good best place for tourism in Montevideo. It is close to the main spots: Teatro Solis, Plaza Independencia, Ciudad Vieja and a 10 minutes walk from Mercado de Puerto. We had the best experience at Posada La Flor, from the moment we checked-in until we checked-out. The room was very spacious, clean and had really comfortable beds. The staff were super friendly with us and our kids. We were able to leave our bags there after checking out until we left Colonia. And to top it off, I was surprised with an amazing (and unexpected) gluten-...

fascinating hotel. good rooms but bathrooms are dated. great views of ocean. given the rambling nature of the hotel, i strongly suggest that would-be guests check out the fire escape routes just in case... service is reserved to cold and hostile. the wait staff in the restaurant get kudos for actually smiling and engaging guests. as is the case in much of south amer...

This is a very traditional hotel, very airy and comfortable. The furniture and facilities are not brand new, but it is compensated with the generous dimensions of all the locations, including the lovely swumming pools and the nice restaurant. The staff is very corteous and the food and beverages are of very good quality.

Lovely customer service Clean and modern amenities and facilities in rooms, particularly an excellent quality mattress to ensure a great night sleep for a weary traveller Indoor and outdoor pools with river views are picturesque Reliable wifi in rooms and around the hotel

This is a fabulous hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I extended my stay a few days because of poor weather, and the beautiful decor and atmosphere made it possible to stay inside, enjoy my time, and catch up on work. There is high speed Internet throughout the hotel, and the restaurant is excellent (though pri...

Dingy Room lit by 15watt lights. No tea or coffee making.Stocked minibar consisted of a bottle of water. No Hotel Details in the room. Restaurant didn't open until 8am.Room overlooking the carpark, very basic. Cockroaches on the floor in the restaurant. Whole place had a tired feel Was booked for 2 weeks but left after 4 days but found hotel had debited my credit card ...

I stayed at this hotel for one night during an exploratory self drive tour of the coastal towns of Uruguay between Montevideo and Jose Ignacio. I picked this hotel for it's history and Grandness. It does have a Casino but I did not visit it. I also missed the breakfast which was included, I believe it was a continental breakfast. One of the best features of this hot...

We had a good stay, but when entering our room it immediately smelt of damp. We were told that it was a new room and that it shouldn't have any problems. When we asked the following day we were told that for the price we were paying we should be having a worse room- they showed us the other room that was very small and not as well furnished and gave us the choice of mo...

I stayed for one night in the Kala Hotel Boutique. Check in was very professional and the room was big, bright and clean. The garden with a - small - pool was perfect to relax and the hotel offers beach facilities at the local beach, a five minutes drive from the hotel. I needed some help from the hotel and was treated very friendly and professional. I would stay there...

Well, 1st of all I could not find the place. There are 2 Posadao Azul's in this very quiet fishing village. I went to the 1st one and the gate was locked,no one home. Stopped at 2 neighbors who said those people had gone away for a few days...and they made lots of phone calls for me trying to figure out what was going on. Finally a very nice gentleman got ahold of t...

The staff at the hotel is really friendly and helpful. They shared information and tips eagerly. The parilla is great if you don't want to leave to restaurants. Beach is just cross the street and you will see the ocean from your balcony. Place is really lovely.

this hotel is much further away from punta el este than we understood. it takes 25 minutes to get to the city and the shuttle bus does only go twice a day from sunday till wednesday, which make you kind of stuck if you don't rent a car. the hotel badly need to be renovated as you can see that it was a very nice hotel many years ago, not so stylish nor pretty any more...

I enjoyed the hotel tremendously, particularly sitting outside at night eating dinner .The gardens are wonderful and i ended the charm of the hotel. The room i had in the tower was a little small but overall i had a wonderful time and love Uruguay, going North from Punte Del Este to Jose Ignacio was worth the day trip and seeing al the great homes
