Staff was very helpful. Room was big, nice view and Hokan-ji can see from room. Will book again this hotel if back to visit Kyoto again.

An exceptional experience”
The hotel was conveniently located a short walk from the JR Kyoto station. The staff was brilliant too. From sending our delivered luggage up to our rooms ahead of our arrival to a little New Year present, little touches such as these made our stay memorable. The room was clean and adequately equipped. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Kyoto.

I rank value for money 5 as it was low season. At high season, it may differ. Otherwise you can get everything you want and it is child friendly. The staff gave children small gadget to play in bathtub.

Nice reception! The hotel is abit far from the main station, but still within walking distance. As with most Japanese hotels, the cleanliness is top notch.

Location location location ”
Location is excellent - It's located in the quiet neighborhood, only a few minutes walk from the Kyoto Hachijo exit and a few convenient stores nearby. There is subway station nearby as well. This side of Kyoto station is much less crowded, so it's easier to navigate yourself if you have a lot or large suitcase. I didn't like that I had to write an address when I checked in even though I stayed at Daiwa a couple months ago. I wish I don't have to wire it since I used them before. Or it'd be easier if I could do early check in online and give them address ahead of time. There is a rectangular shaped work desk with a chair a lamp, a small bench, luggage rack, mini fridge, humidifier and queen-ish bed

Good size room and bed. Bottled water supplied every day. Location is good for either taking bus or train to attractions. Coffee, tea , shampoo etc are free to take on the ground floor near the lift to the rooms.

Old hotel anyway”
Looked like a new hotel by it's outer look photo, but actually inside the room is very old and aging, bad mouldy smell when we entered the room, should be from the old carpet, only good things are big room and friendly staffs, took us some time to locate the hotel as Kyoto station is very big and like a maze, once u know the correct exit then it's quite near to the station

Pros: Close to station Soundproof is good Staff could speak fluent english and nice Cons: The hotel is old Towels are a bit dirty The exhaust fan is weak and the facilities is old but still get the job done Overall: Not recommend this hotel if you are going to stay for long trip. There are more hotels nearby and better than this one.

Hotel never disappoints ”
I’ve stayed at various hotels near/around Kyoto station (for ease of travel across japan) including Daiwa Roynet Kyoto Hachijoguchi. Every stay at Daiwa Roynet Kyoto Hachijoguchi has been the best experience I’ve had. Everything is great - service, amenities, location, etc. It is my first accommodation choice every time I visit Kyoto. Keep it up!

I had a great time staying at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto-Hachijoguchi and I would recommend this hotel to my friends that are going to Kyoto. It is close to the station, shopping areas and restaurants even though we did not have much time to go to all the areas around the hotel. The hotel provided everything that we needed. It even have washing machines for us to wash our dirty clothes. It's a friendly hotel!!!

A very enjoyable stay. Firstly the hotel is located just a 5 minute walk from Kyoto station, with several convenience stores and little eateries located around the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and could speak fluent English. They were always finding ways to help us even if they didn't know the answers themselves. The room itself was also very nice. For a small city hotel and for the price we paid, we definitely got great value from Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto.

Daiwa Roynet hotel is absolutely good. Especially in this Kyoto Hachijohuchi! Location not far from Kyoto station from Hachijoguchi exit (5 minutes walk). Room are spacious , very clean, staff very helpful and they even gave us upgrade room !!! Thanks guys !

better location for people who love quiet area”
this is the other side of kyoto station on Daiwa Roynet. I love this hotel and it's really nice location with quiet area compare to the other Daiwa Roynet on the other side of hotels. There is a lot of convenience store around and good restaurant. The receptionists are super friendly.

lovely rooms very clean quiet location”
My wife and i are on a tour of japan and in our stay in Kyoto we stayed in the Daiwa Roynet Hotel. We knew the hotel would be new and had expectations of a clean and modern room. We were not disappointed the rooms were very clean and very modern. We stayed for approximately 5 nights and had no issue with our stay. The pillows unfortunately were terrible and very hard to sleep on - luckily enough we had another set of pillows from our last stay which we brought with us. The breakfast we read was going to be "below average" and it was. Both the western and Japanese breakfasts were very very average and should not be even tried. This was fairly evident of the amount of people who are sitting there we saw no more than 10 people at any time. After the multiple reviews of how bad the breakfast is, i would hope that this is fixed "soon". The train station (Kyoto) a small walk away has a bakery and plenty to eat in the morning. We used the laundry facilities. They were 300Y for the washing machine (with automatic detergent) and 100Y for the dryer per 1/2hr. We found that a load in the washing machine, required 2x1/2hr dry's. Would stay here again with the knowledge of bringing own pillow, getting own food / supermarket / going to the train station every day.

I really enjoy when I was in Kyoto. Daiwa is very clean and reasonable price! Location is good. Close to the main train station and big shopping area. Walk distance to many good restaurants. Staff are very friend and helpful! If next time I go Japan, I would like to stay in Daiwa again.

A hotel with friendly staffs”
From the first day that i check-in to the last day that i checked out, i was always been greet by the friendly staffs at the recipient counter, the way the greet and slime to to you, will always brighter up your day, i understand that hotel room in Japan in can be really small, but to my surprise the room that i will staying are quite big and comfortable. The walk to the hotel from Kyoto Station is just less than 7mins which make it easy accessible for the visitors, the location of the hotel is in the heart of a shopping mall and good food, Kyoto Station make it a plus point for me to choose the hotel, as it is really nearby to travel up and down to all the attraction in Kyoto.
