Hotel is located just above the Astoria metro. Easy to reach from airport as has direct bus service which stops just opposite hotel. Akso 2 metro stops to nearby Keleti train station. Hotel has old world charm with good sized room and lots of shops and restaurants around. Staff were very helpful.

Great staff but hotel dated”
Great staff and location but the hotel looks as if it was renovated in 1985 and never touched since. The rooms are Spartan, not even a kettle. All you get is a bar of soap and a shower cap. Shower falls off the mount so had to just hold it in hand. Bed is fairly hard and the whole place is just in need of major investment. Food in restaurant not great. Seems like just out of the freezer. Paying for the location really.

A heritage hotel”
Location: Bus from airport stop opposite the hotel, very convenient. Near to metro station as well. Surrounded with restaurant so getting food at anytime not an issue. Hotel: Very friendly and helpful front desk. Room: It was refurbished back in 2017 but carpet looks dirty and dusty. No room slippers provided so feeling a bit uncomfortable to step the carpet barefoot. Comfortable bed. Along busy road but room is sound proof. It would be good if in-house coffee is provided.

Was quite disappointed with my stay. The staff at the reception were not very friendly. The walls in the hotel rooms were thin and I could hear next door’s guests talking and laughing loudly. Only perk is that it is near the airport shuttle.

The building itself is beautiful and the location is great, but the hotel is poorly managed and I would encourage other travelers to avoid this place. I paid extra to upgrade to a city room and when I was provided a room with a brick wall, the manager proceed to tell me that is the room I chose even though I provided him with multiple receipts to prove otherwise. They accommodated my initial reservation the second night, but the manager was so incredibly rude, it's difficult to encourage anyone else to stay here. The first room I stayed in was also dirty and the single sheet which covered the bed was barely enough to cover any average sized adult.

Stylish Hotel”
This is the second time we have stayed at the Danubius Astoria. It is based in a beautiful traditional building within reasonable walking distance of many of the main tourist sites in Budapest, and provides fantastic breakfasts. The 100E bus from the airport stops right outside, providing a very easy and reasonably priced airport transfer. We were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room this time around. My only slight disappointment is that there was no tea tray/kettle in the room. Otherwise a fantastic experience and I hope to be able to return again.

The Hotel Astoria is a historic property in a prime location. The building, particularly the interiors, exudes elegance and good taste. We were traveling as a group, and we were particularly impressed by the triple room that was actually a full suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All staff members were professional and polite to the extreme. Most of all, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet in a very classy dining room from a by-gone era. This hotel by itself is reason enough to wish to return to Budapest as soon as possible!

Memories were Right”
Visited the Danubius Astoria in 2011 and this time took my husband there, hoping he would find it as good as I did. He did! We enjoyed our time there, despite being quite tired and not too well after catching a bug on a river cruise from Amsterdam.

The hotel is located just at Astoria metro station, so I wouldn’t be bothered to walk so long to find hotel, the hotel itself is quite historic and well decorated old fashion, receptionist is helpful with checking in-out and I’ve just noticed that there’s bellboy, who stand and wait for asking not offering some help lifting luggage or escorting you to room, well historic hotel and with this service culture tends to authentic luxury European, i surely expected something coz of the hotel standard, the room I got is decorated old fashion as well but Big bathtub and comfy bed just pillow is too small for me fortunately I booked double room and stayed there alone so it was fine , I rather go to Eurostars hotel where is located just a minutes walk from this hotel but more modern and pillows are far better

this hotel has an excellent location for getting around budapest. public transport stops are just outside and the staff are very helpful and attentative. we ate in the hotel the first night and the food was very good value and extremely tasty. its also very beautiful inside having kept its original features and is spotlessly clean. dont book through agoda though as they over inflate the exchange rate and it is better value to book direct with the hotel. they speak a number of languages and will sort everything out for you

I would stay here again. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the room comfortable, with a touch of classical luxury, the shower was hot and powerful,breakfast was great. We asked for a kettle and one was provided instantly. The hotel is literally at a metro stop and also the city tour buses stop outside. The Jewish district is right next to the hotel too where you can find cheaper restaurants and the retro ruinbars. It only took ten minutes to walk to the river at a leisurely pace..
