Where to begin? I stayed here for my 50th birthday with three friends. On arrival at check-in was greeted with a glass of cava. I booked 2 rooms and both were upgraded. Wow, a lovely room. Comfy beds, lovely linen, big fluffy towels, slippers, dressing gown...the bathroom was minimalist, monsoon shower. good toiletries including bath salts! The room had nespresso mach...

Our stay was amazing!, the best of all for this holiday and probable forever. The Barre Gotic area is perfect for exploring. The staff at the hotel would do absolutely anything for us. From booking a restaurant which is always great to organizing our trip to Andulucia with train travel hotels and recommendations for things to do and good restaurants. They did it all wi...

Gran ducat offers the right service and ample room size. Definitely value for money since it is centrally located and all the best shopping and dining areas are well within a 10 min walk from the hotel. They have friendly staff who can suggest all the must see locations in Barcelona as well as the best routes to take to get there. This hotel is a stop and go type of ho...

The location is great. In the the El Gotic and close to Hop On Hop Off buses. Close to Tapas and taxis are very reasonable. Did have two “Professionals” (as the thieves are called) follow us into the lobby and try to grab one of our carry ons. We believe our airport cab driver set us up and had the two guys waiting as we arrived at 1 am. We had no other theft issues ...

ohla hotel is a newly constructed facility hidden behind the facade of ancient spanish architecture. located near the gothic quarter the hotel is perfectly situated for sight seeing and shopping. the rooms are amazing with open plan bathrooms, ample storage space and hi-tech furnishing. the breakfast service is of a very high quality and is complimented by the michelin...

The room (loft) we booked was more like an apartment with a kitchen. Pretty spacious and clean. Also the interior design was quite nice. The location of the hotel is superb and you can reach almost every sightseeing attraction by foot! There is also a near subway station. We purchased a 5 days Barcelona Card but NEVER used it because we walked to all spots. The hotel i...

the hotel is ideally situated, really... just a couple of minutes to either jaume or liceu metros... ideal for exploring the gotic quarter, and can easily make it into raval or walk down to barceloneta. we were very pleased! the only con was that there was no free wifi in the rooms; you have to pay and use it in the lobby. there was also a really unpleasant smell comin...

It is a unique hotel, please make sure all of you like this style, because my mom could not enjoy it. Everything is very very good, the hotel is a old building which has been recognized as a monument. It is in the Gotic area, means an area with old South European houses connected by narrow roads. You may have chance to meet weird aggressive beggars and drunk men in ...

before booking this hotel i read some reviews, there was poor review about cleanliness, but i had no time for searching another hotel, so i booked it. room was small but enough for 2 of us. service was everyday and it was surprise for me, based on reviews i was expecting dirty rooms, but everyday my room was cleaned. towels and toiletries was changed everyday. so i rec...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is amazing, just steps from the gothic cathedral and an easy walk to most of Barcelona’s central tourist attractions. Staff was very helpful and recommended a good restaurant and gave us tips for finding a cab when a protest shut down car travel around our hotel. The place itself is clean, the rooms are small but very wel...

We liked the relatively quiet location, with it's lovely park across the way and its access to a lot of major sites. The Born and Gotic areas are charming and fun, and it was only a moderate walk to the metro. We're still traveling, but are happy to be returning to this hotel on the last leg of our trip.

We have just returned from Barcelona following 4 days for my boyfriends 30th Birthday. We stayed in the junior suite and it was great. More than enough space and the terrace with the jacuzzi was a great extra. The best bit about the hotel though was the location. It was close to all amenities. Round the corner from Las Ramblas, on the door step of two metro lines and ...

the hotel is conveniently located. the metro is across the road from the hotel and about a 15min walk to the train station. the hotel is about a 5-10 walk to the main street. plenty of restaurant and food places around the hotel. about a 5-10 min walk to the bus stop that goes to the outlets. our room was quite large, the safe in the room was quite dated and required a...

Price is very reasonable, very clean, hotel is small, room was comfortable though with large bathroom and balcony overlooking the street. Location great, in trendy Born area steps away from Barri Gotic and metro/ bus. Had a great free snack and espresso bar in evenings. One thing to mention is that sound carries, and in morning/night, we could often hear people coming ...

After a rude awakening with a rather misleading booking into another establishment in Barcelona we scrambled quickly and found Hotel Barcelona Catedral! What a gem! Great location, apartment with hotel flair. The staff was very nice, they have a lovely office near the flats where you can check in and chill if you need to wait for the flat. The flats are in the best area and are newly renovated. Was many times in barcelona before but this is my favourite place to stay.

We stayed 5 days in H10 Cubik, and we've expected because of its building design. As expected, the facilities were incredibly nice. Also, their breakfast was so good. If you are in honeymoon, they give us a special dessert. It was fantastic for us and we have lots of memories in Barcelona. The location is near the Gothic quarter. However, after few days, the cleanlines...

Had a great stay for four nghts in October 2015. Room was small but sufficient for two persons. Comfortable bed, aircon working, shower very nce. Had a room facing the street with a small balcony. Breakfast was sufficient and tasteful, with a small selection of rolls, croissants, meat, cheese, fruit and cereal. Also omelette one morning. We also had dinner in the resta...

We had a pleasant stay, despite pre-travel concern that hotel wouldn't live up to its picture. We got one of the large rooms that come with 2 single beds. Worked out fine. The beds aren't that comfortable and room is not superbly cleaned on the corners and tiles in bathroom. I kept getting dust mist bites.but can't complain that much. We were close to the beach, and th...

i suggest this hotel for travellers that really look to explore the city, especially the gotic areas! it was our first time in barcelona and we very much enjoyed the close proximity to most of the central tourist areas, such as la rambla, gotic, and the 2 gaudi houses. furthermore, its very close access to some of the more known tapas restaurants, la boqueira market,...

Located only a short walk from Liceu and Jaume I metro stations, this hotel was smack bang in the middle of the Barri Gotic: you could not ask for a better location. With a bakery literally next door, and a supermarket a few meters down the road, you have plenty of choices for a cheap snack - and there are countless bars and restaurants within stumbling distance to cho...

going to barcelona for the first time (hopefully not the last time!) we had been searching internet for a good place te stay. because of what others were writing, we decided to choose anba bed & breakfast. our experience can only confirm what others have been saying. from the first moment, in which we were welcomed by the lady at the reception, to the moment we were to...

We were late to check, all staff were friendly and courteous. We had no issue finding the Hotel, aside from a leaking shower or toilet (not sure which caused the puddle in the bathroom), the room was fantastic very spacious, clean and set out. Will definitely book the hotel again if I am travelling to Barcelona.

superb 4 stars hotel in historical centre of barcelona. in ten minutes walk you can reach the ramblas, in 20 minutes you are already at placa catalunya. placa del rei is about three minutes far away!!! staff was super friendly, answered promptly to our mails prior to our arrival and when we got there really late (01.35 am) they still offered us some champagne to welco...

Very serviceminded and proffesional personal. We felt welcomed! High standard hotel. Newbuilt well function. Good sleep in wounderful bed after a intens day at the town. Superb breakfast! Nice hotel, good room size, perfect location very near to the port, the ramblas and the gotic neighboorhood. We were on the 4th floor on the street and it was very quiet. One of the few hotel were you can sleep without being disturbed by works, cars.... to be recommend.

This hotel is tucked just inside a small alley just off Calle Ferran, note that the google street view doesn't do it justice, this is a very busy area. People report street noise as being an issue, the bedroom we stayed in had double glazed windows and it was not so bad. Only a couple of nights on the weekend did we hear some noise at 3 or 4am when the bars in the n...

Great apartment, very clean and perfect location to walk everywhere to all the sites and beach. El Born is definitely the best area to stay. Cafes, bars, trendy boutiques and supermarkets on doorstep. Quiet apartment with everything you need. Would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend!
Cheap places to stay in El Gòtic

Its clean and near the city center. You get a decent bed and washing facilities. A locker albeit you have to pay a euro to get the lock and key. The staff is polite and generally helpful. The kitchen is decent as is the large lounge with a couple of computers if you have a need for them. The atmosphere is a little dull and quiet which might not be everyone's cup of tea...

A relatively small hostel with only three dorm bedrooms but have all the facilities you ever needed, BBH is a gem that I chanced upon. Staff (Maria) is super friendly and always helpful. All the facilities you will need, including the kitchen, dining area, TV room, reading area with books, balconies, sitting area outside the bedrooms - it surprises me that a dorm this ...

Stayed for 6 nights in a double room that didn't include an ensuite, however there are 2 bathrooms both with showers in that were never a problem. On the downside, the walls were maybe a bit thin as we were awoken at 7am by talking nextdoor and felt the privacy suffered due to this. The advertised kitchen contains a microwave, kettle and fridge freezer but lacks an ov...

I stayed at the Fernando for about a week and it was an average experience. When I first arrived I was told that my request for a larger bed could not be accommodated until my 4th night stay. This was a surprise considering that I booked 3 months in advance. So for the first few days I did not bother to fully unpack which was an annoyance. I then was told 2 days later...

Location-wise, it's pretty ideal. It's located in the Barri Gotic (historic center), and there's tons of restaurants, shopping, nightlife, etc. nearby and within a short walk away. Its located on a side street that branches off from a larger street so its convenient enough to get to things but the street itself is a little quieter so there's not too much noise in the r...

Private room for 58 Euro with a Balcony and a large bed, consistently the cheapest, best, room in the area with private rooms that include private bathroom. No air conditioning when it is hot out can be a bit much ( An easy update that this property should consider)

I spent 3 nights here and found the Pension Francia to be in a great location and great value for money. It is very basic but it is all you need if you plan to spend all your time travelling and don't have a big budget. They are strict on the no-noise rule after 10pm (I think) which is great to ensure that guests aren't disrupted at night.

Location is ideal as it is centrally located near to a lot of points of interest, such as the Cathedral, Picasso museum, La rambla, and lots of shops and nice little caffes, be sure to get the one with window as many do not have any windows so make sure to reserve the private rooms with bathroom and window. AC was not the best however at this time of year(May) it was n...

This is not where you want to be if you want peace and quiet it’s just off a main square with hustle / bustle till 3am sat abd 130am Sunday The room is functional clean and has its own bathroom We stayed in room 3 with a small balcony and very much enjoyed our stay It is very safe with a locked entrance then another locked door before you get into the very small rece...

I love the location of the hotel the most....The location is a quick access (5mins) to a metro station and walking distance to tourist locations like the Las Ramblas, the barceloneta beach, La Boqueria market, Gothic quarter and Plaza Catalunya plus it is nearby so many restaurants and convenience store if you need to buy anything. The owner is kind, Mr. Jose Segre a...

The hotel couldn't be any better in terms of location. Next to cathedral of the gotic area. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are small and outdated, single pane glass windows. No air con. The bathroom need renovating. Stuff was hanging off the wall. Always kept clean by staff. You get what you pay for I suppose. You could pay triple for a 3/4 star ...

It was a pleasure. I would go back again. I don't like to stay in fancy hotels and would rather go to a hostal and Drassanes is that place. The bathroom was clean, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also, I liked the fact that the hostal had a locked door. I felt very safe knowing that nobody could get into the building unless they were buzzed in. The...

Thanks for the free breakfast. It’s like being home away from home. We enjoyed Montserrat. Thanks for the care and attention.

We loved the hotel. It was very clean and spacious. The rooms were very large and the hotel staff were friendly and informative. The location was great. For a five star hotel the price was very inexpensive for Europe. Very close to the metro. Easy to get to the hotel from the airport. Easy walking to all the points of interest. The location is perfect, the apartment well laid out. The only issue was with the washing machine which seems not to empty the water from the machine, I guess the water pump is broken. either the machine needs to be repaired or removed. The result is water on the floor when opening the door of the machine.

I stayed for 2 nights with my daughters. The staff was very helpful. The actual room was small and since we had extra bed added the room had nothing else in it but the 3 beds. But there was plenty of closet space and the bathroom was clean and big enough. However, the best part of the hotel is it's location and only 5 min walk from Metro station.

A good little hotel that was clean but basic. Staff were super friendly. The reception and halls look posher than the rooms which were a bit misleading but the rooms were fine and the maid wanted to clean our room every day!! Which is amazing but we were like, it's not needed! Only downside was there was hammering and drilling coming from inside the building which woke...

For the price of a regular room in a five star hotel, our Inside Barcelona's apartment with two bedrooms, a fully functional kitchen, washer-dryer, and living area is a dream home away from home for my family.
