Nothing Like I read about..”
I was really skeptic about getting to 8Hostel. It is because I read so much negative reviews. However, I went ahead and booked the place. I told myself you get what you paid for. But I was wrong. The place is really nice. It is clean,. Daily cleaning service in the dorms. Plus, you can ask a towel or anything that the facility is supposed to provide and they will bring it to you right away. The staff was amazing; very respectful. I will definitely book this place if i ever happen to be in Manila; and of course I do recommend it to any traveler like me.

About Allowing Guests To Cook Inside”
This is entirely not about the hostel. Everything should be good, especially on its price. I am on my 3rd week stay, and I just couldn't help but wonder why one foreigner guest is allowed to cook noodles and KNORR chicken cubes inside a small room that is shared by many. The smell stinks so badly that I was forced to go out each time this guest cooks such inside. I hope the management can very well address the matter accordingly. Imagine all your clothes and beddings and blanket smelling like CHICKEN CUBES. And this guest even throws the chicken cubes wrapper in the toilet bowl. I have taken photo of it and shown it to the hostel staff downstairs.

Pros - Affordable and budget friendly - Very nice staff - You can have privacy as each bed bunks has cover - Airconditioned room - With toiletries - Towel and blanket - Near quiapo church - free WiFi - free drinking water and cups - own secured locker Cons - no security guard present even at night and bystanders are hanging out at the entrance gate at night - female room are very near the reception area so you can hear everything. - too noisy. During my stay there were 2 kids playing around 10pm. The staff wasn't able to control them. I think they are the kids of the hotel owner. - no towel hook on the bathroom - Check-in time is strictly 2pm. With extra charge if requesting for early check-in. - no hotel lobby or common areas. - lots of mosquitoes If you are booking this hostel just for a place to sleep, don't choose this. You were not be able to sleep because of noise.

Worth with its price. Medyo di malinis sa labas (papasok sa loob due to public passway) but malinis nman sa loob lalo na sa loob ng room. They clean it every now and then. Two thumbs up for that! May free mineral water pa. Accommodating staff except nung isa na matabil (nililibak nya yung ibang customer hahahah). Over-all, I'll surely stay again in this hostel.

A continuing experience”
It's been a week already and I am still here tho. Everything should be okey for the price. My only request since arriving is to change my bedspace location to lower bed but as of now I am still waiting. Upper bunk bed where I am staying is just noisy when moving. I hope the management can see this through.
