Where else would you want to be!!!”
Location is brilliant if you want to be close to...... Glasgow Central Station, Underground station, the entre of Glasgow, oldest gay bar, M and S, Primark, TKmax, Princes Centre. Many, many bars and food places from expensive to really, really not expensive. Theatres, bus stops, taxi ranks... the list can go on and on. Great staff. Have been there on many occasions. Staff, cleanliness, rooms and breakfast have all been very good. If you do want a lie in on the day that you leave, you can always check out at 10.30, leave your luggage in their store room and go somewhere else for your breakfast. Weatherspoons 1 and a half minute away. Radison Blu 1 and a half minute away. My friend and I are not gay but we LOVE the Wellington Gay Bar next door. From this hotel you can always just walk around the block and experience the Magic of Glasgow. Enjoy!!!

Fantastic stay great value excellent location”
Stayed here as needed somewhere to sleep for a work night event. Great location in the city centre close to central station. Tesco express and coop nearby. Near taxi ranks and takeaway shops. Excellent value for money paid £30 a night for a triple/twin room. Check in was easy stayed on the 4th floor. Lifts available. Room was spacious and clean. Free bottles of water, plenty of towel, tea and coffe with little shortbread biscuits. Large TV, telephone and good lighting. Bathroom was very clean with shower and bath tub. I was very pleased with the hotel as heard mixed reviews and was a bit apprehensive. Good in room facilities with hair dryer, iron, and kettle. Lots of drawers and wardrobe for clothes. Shower worked fine, TV wouldn't switch on but reception got someone to come fix it quickly. Think just needed new battery for the remote control. Slept really well was comfy good room temperature wasn't too hot or cold. Was worried noise outside from building work across the road would wake me up but it didn't slept well. Reception kindly did a wake up call for me the next day. Breakfast was pleasant. A good variety of cooked food, sausages, bacon, hash browns, beans mushroom. Toasts parties muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, continental meat and cheese. Coffee machine and juice machine to help yourself to all buffet self service. Great tasting coffee and orange juice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended place great value in an excellent location.

I stayed here for one night and encountered many ghosts, a midnight false alarm fire alarm, excellent breakfast and the cosiest of rooms (mine was ghost free) I can’t say the same for the lifts and dining areas Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back

Excellent value hotel in central Glasgow”
I was hugely impressed with my first experience staying at the hotel. When I arrived I was given an upgrade to a stunning suite - huge king-sized, 2 leather sofas, immaculate bathroom with huge walk-in shower. It was on the 3rd floor and had 2 massive windows (1 looking along Argyle Street, the other looking south). Lovely starched linen sheets, pristine bath/hand towels, toiletries and tea making facilities. Breakfast was included and I was expecting cornflakes, tea/coffee and toast. In a lovely dining room there was a delicious offering of full-Scottish - bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, beans, hash browns and tattie scone. Large selection of cereals, toast, fruit, tea/coffee and a selection of juices.

Date night ”
We booked this last minute and were not expecting much because it was the cheapest hotel we could find but we were completely blown away. Lovely staff, the inside is like an art gallery and our room was absolutely huge. So so many benefits for a date night. There was a couch and arm chair and the room still wasn't crowded. It was great for going out in town as it was right next to the station so also didn't need to rush about to get home. Breakfast included was also with hot food which was a bonus when you compare to premier inn where they charge extra for a hot breakfast. We only came from Paisley for a wee change of scenery and tbh we'll be goimg back for sure. Would pick over a franchise place any day.

Alexander Thomson Full Marks”
I have stayed at Alexander Thomson Hotel with friends many times over the years due to being located in central of Glasgow,Bedrooms and Bathrooms spotless, great choice of breakfast and very friendly staff. This hotel is 3 star and if you are looking for top of the range surroundings etc i suggest that you pay 5 star prices and go elsewhere. People tend to forget that at the cost of an overnight/weekend stay is fantastic value for money and at end of day i think that if beds and bathrooms are spotless and very roomy well what's not to love about this hotel. I would recommend it and give it top marks. Wilma.

Had everything I needed & a fantastic deal”
Loved the feel of old grandeur -well worn like myself but not shabby. Enormous sweeping curtains, patterned wallpaper and huge chandeliers in bar lounge ares. Room was clean more than enough space -double bed, sheets were pristine, double height ceiling but warm, big flat screen tv on wall, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar etc, bottled water. Iron & full ironing board & Slept well. Bathroom also had plenty of space. Very clean. Pristine towels/floormat with spare in cupboard? Loads of lovely hot water for bath or mixer shower. Extra toilet paper & little shampoo bottles, soap. No dodgy lamps, switches or remote. Great buffet breakfast full cooked, continental, jams & spreads, cereals, yogurts, fruits, fresh juices. Staff quick & attentive.

I liked the place.”
I arrived at the hotel for a last minute single room booking that was extremely cheap at £29 with breakfast. Sonny at reception is a great guy and upgraded me for an extra £10 to an executive suite. Sonny phoned to ask if everything was ok with the suite which was a nice touch. And I must say, the hotel takes pride with their rooms. Huge bed, two settees and coffee table, super clean room and there has obviously been some upgrading work done on the room and bathroom. The security staff are really good and it can be a boring job at times, but they were really approachable and friendly. The breakfast is all good buffet, and the staff were very professional. I really liked the place and the staff, as well as being a fair price for that you get. The only thing was the drafty sash windows and a slightly cold room. Another bonus was the lift system that was perfect. I would stay there again, its great for a short city break.

Great customer service”
Due to arriving at hotel, and told we were being upgraded to another hotel, we were pleasantly surprised it was to a 4 star hotel, and only a few minutes from here. Customer service was great. I have stayed here before, and would recommend, as it's local to all amenities, and value for money

Great stay”
Was a bit wary about our stay given some reviews I had read but the hotel was perfect!! I think we may have a newly refurbished room (233) as everything seemed new and fresh. Room and bathroom spotless. Very clean and modern bathroom ( great shower). Reception very friendly and quick check-in and out. Bed was very comfy (pillows were quite flat but there was a spare if needed and I think reception would have happily got another). Unfortunately overslept and missed breakfast!!! Exceptional value and will def stay again. Morning mutes walk from Central Station
