Best hotel in Thao Dien (District 2) area”
I lived in HCMC's Thao Dien ward for six years before moving to another country. When I had the chance to re-visit Thao Dien (because I enjoy the restaurants, bars, and stores) I saw Amanaki and knew this was the best place to stay. I was right. The rooms are clean and cozy. Even the Vietnamese drip coffee in the kitchenette is exceptionally delicious. The antique deco in the lobby is amazing to look at. The staff made me feel like I was their friend. The hotel is located near Xuan Thuy Street that's loaded with outstanding bars, shops, restaurants of various cuisines, and coffeehouses. This will be my place to visit whenever I am in town.

Top Notch In Thao Dien”
I have traveled all over Saigon, have come back to this place three times. The staff here is amazing , goes above and beyond to help and very accommodating. The internet here averages 80-100MBps with very low latency as well , huge for remote meetings. The locations is quiet , the showers are hot and roomy and every room I have stayed in is cleaned to perfection the minute you step out. This is the perfect boutique hotel with a 5* feel and the location is blocks away from all the food and eateries. You likely won’t find a place around that combines old world style with modern feel with good internet and a staff that is like a family around in any district.

Excellent stay in Thao Dien ”
We really enjoyed our stay here because the staff were so hospitable and the city view from the room is fantastic you don’t feel helmed in like other places we stayed in Vietnam. Enjoyed the dip in the pool on hot days and liked that it was covered but still outdoors. Above all loved the expat area with excellent restaurants and bars near by you felt like a privileged local. We took Grab to other parts of town as this isn’t a city you can walk anyway there are no pavements.

I had an amazing time in D2, Thao Dien is a great area to be away from the city but still close by if you want a night life however the local bars was great. The room was clean that was equipped with a kitchen area however please note no utensils and basic pantry so more suitable if you are doing a long stay and can buy your own. Staff are friendly and helped me order grab when I needed it

Pro tip: if you want a bathtub, message the hotel beforehand. Not all rooms have it eventhough it is indicated. Other than that, experience was nice and so near to the expat community in district 2.

It could have been better”
What's good: We love the location because it's in a quiet alley and only a few minutes walk from the main street, where you can get everything. The room is also reasonably spacious, with a good-sized kitchenette too. The bed was comfortable. They also have a lovely dog which you can pet all you want! What's bad: They had plenty of construction going on during our stay so it was quite noisy. The bathroom in our room floods whenever we take a shower and we have to wait for hours for it to drain. Our fault was we didn't complain about it so we didn't know if the other rooms are the same.
