Stayed for 3 nights in the resort and we had the wonderful experience. Resort is located around the quiet part of the island and have amazing sunrise views. Villas were clean and well maintained. Service were on point and staff were friendly. Special mention to our villa host Pla who made sure that our stay was comfortable and also to the restaurant staff Tua who took care of us every breakfast. Me and my partner would definitely would like to come back in the future.

Informal luxury in idyllic spot on a true tropical island”
Great spot. Large comfortable rooms with plunge pools. Friendly and responsive staff to meet all needs. For someone looking for a quiet, romantic beach spot in Thailand (or anywhere) without the surrounding mess of a Samui or Phuket, this is your place.

amazing hotel, yards from the tropical beach”
We stayed in this resort on the dates specified above. It was indubitably the highlight of our say in Thailand. On top of the features listed above there are other aspects of the resort that deserve superlative praise. The location on a beach called Thong Nai Pan must be one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Although secluded, however, I was sorry to see the backpackers favourite, the legendary Star hut close to be replaced by a new four star resort the Buri Rasa so the resort is becoming slightly less secluded. We did manage one last sad meal at the Star Hut however. Do not panic though,I beleieve this institution is moving not far from its original location in Thong Nai Pan to more inside the village. A lot of reviews bemoan the lack of night life at this location. Sure, the beach cafes close at 09.30pm til 10.00 pm, but until then you can eat at the excellent and reasoanbly priced Luna lounge, or dine at the similary economical Italian themed,"Better than Sex, sometimes open till 11.00pm. Then later you can chill at several of the bars behind the beach in the village itself. Due to the brevity of our stay we did not manage to eat dinner in the hotel although we spoke to another couple, staying in the nearby Sanithya who had ate at the Rasananda for five or six nights out of a seven night stay and swore by the food and service. In short if you like an idyllic beach holiday with warm tropical seas and a laid back vibe go!

Piece of Heaven”
We stayed in one of the Ocean View Pool Villas over December 2016 (No 11). If you want you own piece of heaven, right at the beach (20 meters then you in the sea) with lots of space (m2)) then look no further and make a booking. The Ocean View Pool Villas are spacious with all amenities you require. If you have Apple devices, you have access to Apple TV to sit through any rainy day, when going to the beach is not an option or when you have seen what the island can offer. The breakfast in the mornings are good enough to satisfy all tastes. Breakfast is served on a sand floor, so don't be surprised when you arrive. Be aware that you are in a jungle environment and bugs (mosquitoes and the like) are everywhere. The resort offers a spray, but it is recommended to bring your own as well. The nearby village is really close, approximately 200 meters from the resort. The are numerous ATM's with little family run restaurants that serve authentic Thai food at reasonable prices. There are also two or three supermarkets that sell all essential goods. Overall the Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas can be recommended.

Our favourite beach resort”
We have been going to Tong Nai Pan Noi beach for the last five years. We started at the only five star resort that was there and finally found Rasananda newly built. (now 18 months old) We have been twice since then. It is the best location on that beautiful beach directly in the middle and the hotel itself sits right on the beach ... from the room you walk about 50 metres straight into the sea. Each self contained room (all have small private pools) either faces the beach or has it's own private garden. The hotel is excellently appointed and has a small gym ... which we used regularly. Our two weeks passed too quickly and we are ready to return there anytime.

Amazing, classy hotel with impeccable service.”
The Anantara Rasananda is in a class of its own as a beachfront resort. Every detail of the hotel has clearly been designed with taste and thought, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. It was our fourth time there and we booked an Ocean garden pool villa which has a daybed right on the beach, the view is just amazing and the room itself is again, really well designed and comfortable. It isn't cheap - but it's real value. The food at the hotel is of a really high standard along with the best breakfast spread on the island - the chef will ask you to have one of their fresh crab / smoked salmon Benedict breakfasts, and he's right, you must! What rounds off the Rasananda experience is really its staff. There is so much pride, joy and initiative they bring to every interaction, that you just know you're somewhere special. These guys are real pros - we can't wait to go back!

Rasananda Beach resort, October 2009”
Having already stayed a few times on Ton Nai Pan Noi Beach, one of our favorite beaches in the world because of its beautiful sand, calm waters and few people, we were delighted to find such high quality accommodation with perfectly designed rooms on the actual beach with all possible amenities one could wish for. The hotel has a speedboat allowing guests to arrive in comfort, style and fast from Koh Samui, the neighboring island with an international airport. Otherwise one is condemned to either a slow taxi boat to get directly on to the beach or the ferry and and unpleasant ride over a very bumpy road. The rooms are quiet and lovely and the bed is about the best we have found in any hotel since we have been traveling for the last twenty years or so. Apple imovies are available in some of the rooms and the wireless internet, free, worked pretty much all of the time: surprising for a beach so removed from the happening spot of the island and on an island itself. With our room came free cocktails: so sitting in our lounging area, with a small plunge pool, overlooking the beach and the ocean, under a grass roof each night with our friends, as the sun set and the sky became more and more spectacular, made such an enjoyable end to the day and perfect moment before our fabulous evening meal at the beach bistro. The staff endeavored, successfully I might add, to accommodate our vegetarian requirements and chef 'Nick' does a wonderful job. We loved our stay there.

Gorgeous beach-front location with modern decor”
We stayed here during our honeymoon and it was more than we could have hoped for. The location on Thong Nai Pan Noi was amazing. The decor around the entire hotel was luxurious, creative and peaceful. The villa's bedroom room was big and spacious with a modern Thai feel. The front doors of the bedroom opened up to the beach where we could watch the sunrise over the water from bed. Our bathroom was great but it needed a bath tub. The outdoor shower made up for it. The private beach with day bed and small pool was really nice to relax in, day or night. However, the pool was too cold and we spent less than 2 minutes in it during our entire stay. The spa was so beautiful, highly recommend a walk-through if nothing else. We enjoyed a couple's spa treatment. We would love to stay here again.

Great hotel and location”
We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday (1 week) at the Rasananda. The hotel staff were very professional and friendly...and could speak English well! The room was spacious and well furnished. Breakfast was delicious; dinners were good but a bit overpriced. We highly recommend the Rasananda and based on what other travellers said, it is the best choice in the Tong Nai Pan Noi beach!

Beautiful hotel great beach”
Greeting at the pier on Koh Samui was great, speedboat beautiful with excellent drive. The ride to Phangan has great views of all the small and cool beaches. Arrival at hotel's beach is amazing with staff greeting you, with your sandals already laid out by the foot shower ready for you to slip into. Quick check in although they should have completed the check in at the pier on Samui but this is us being picky. We took the Ocean Garden Suite with Pool on the beach. Rooms were very nice. Had a slight musky smell which is a pet hate of ours and should have had incense burning on arrival. Safe, walk in wardrobe, LCD TV with apple tv a great touch. No iPod docking. Lovely shower room, big shower head, double basin and an outside shower in addition to the inside one. Bed was big and very comfortable. View from bed was stunning. Outside table and chairs very cheap could have done a bit better with that. Lovely touch was 2 beach loungers reserved for you every day right outside villa. Very hip crowd on the beach. Village behind hotel is great and typical Phangan village cool wooden bars and rests and shops all serving very good food. Food in the hotel was surprisingly excellent (usually the better hotels on Phangan do not serve good food). Breakfast was fantastic. All the drinks in the day were excellent and well mixed. Spa superb. Usually the bigger hotels do not offer good spa service but this was great. All the staff enjoyed their jobs, very friendly and we couldn't help but tip them individually at the end of our stay. A fantastic resort and will def be returning.

Good. Very good. But not great (yet?)”
Before writing the actual report on our stay in Rasananda, I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to agoda for making it all happen. Nowadays it's quite difficult to come across the true professionals and you are exactly that, so thank you. What really surprised me about Rasananda was the fact that this particular hotel left me in some form of reviewer's limbo, whereby I neither hate nor love it. But even more strangely, I am not neutral towards it either. To be honest, it's been a week since my return, and yet I am still finding it difficult to form a conclusive opinion about Rasananda. On the one hand, this hotel does not have the obvious faults to be slammed in this report; on the other - Rasananda still has plenty to learn to acheive its full potential, and, more importantly - to bare individuality, which sorts the good from the great. 1) Arrival and departure: There are three ways of getting to Rasananda, and to be fair, not a single one of them is perfect. If your wallet is way too heavy for hand luggage and you check it in every time you fly, you might consider getting the hotel speedboat (we did exactly that on our way back). Sure it will set you back 4500 thai bat per couple per way (to give some perspective on pricing - our business class flight from Bangkok was 1000 bat cheaper), but you won't have a single worry in the world. There is a branded Rasananda desk at Samui airport, where this can be arranged. Then a minibus will take you to a local beachside bar, where upon consuming a couple of complimentary drinks you will board hotel's twin Suzuki-motor powered speedboat for a 30 minute trip to Rasananda's beach, drinking free Coke and enjoying spectacular scenery fly by.
