Good place out of the bustle of Alona”
Overall nice place. Best is location tucked away a bit from Alona beach, where it feels a little like any other overly touristic place with hawkers and hustlers, but close enough for easy access and staying there late at night. It's also located on the right side for sunsets :) Just rent a scooter the first day and go and come as you please. Room left nothing to wish for. Large clean and nice bathroom. Pool and general area for hanging out around the restaurant has a nice look and vibe to it. Food at the resort was good although a little pricier than eating at a shack at a random beach (obviously). Beach is nice but at low tide you have to walk really far to get to swimmable depth. This should not be done because of the array of starfish you'd trample plus it's a litteral mine field of urchins a little bit out in the seaweed. You have to swim all the way to the dive boats to reach the remaining part of the reef. Cons would be that it's a little pricy.

A hidden charm”
Very quaint location. Its perfect if you just want to unwind and be away from the crowded zones. Very personalized experience. The staff was extremely accommodating, courteous and was always there to help. Its thoughtfully rustic and the ants that do tend to creep into the room needs to be overlooked in order to enjoy the place. the swimming pool is small. The animals that come in the garden early mornings was a fun experience for my lil one. Overall a very pleasant stay and would go back again.

Reese from Philippines”
Staff was friendly and courteous. Food is good, though pricey for an average family. Room rate is a little overrated. Phone/intercom can do well so you don't have to go down to reception if you need anything. But we definitely enjoyed our vacation.

Overpriced ”
We had a very average experience with Ananyana beach resort. Staff seemed a bit off and not what we could have expected from a resort in this price category.

Acceptable”
Overpriced for what it was. No proper entrance or reception area. The resort seemed unfinished. The staff were very nice and tried their best, however a lot of the basics were just not there. Not conveniently located (nothing nearby).

Lovely, secluded, peaceful hotel”
To be honest, I chose the Ananyana because it was a good deal on Agoda and I didn't want to stay on the main "drag" of Alona Beach, but I'm really glad we found the place. It is the other side of the island from Alona and is alone on its stretch of beach, although another, larger resort is being built a bit further down. This meant that it was very quiet and there was only one other family there during the 3 days we stayed. I'm not sure why there were not more guests as it is a beautifully designed place with reasonably basic but very comfortable and well-designed rooms. The staff were without exception extremely friendly and helpful and, best of all, we were able to go diving with the resident dive master just by ourselves. Other boats we saw from other resorts were full of people, while ours were quite happy to take just the two of us. The diving was fantastic - absolutely stunning coral gardens and reef wall at Balicasag island with the typically abundant reef rish and great visibility of many places in the Philippines. Highlights were the giant turtles :) It's true that the beach isn't ideal for swimming, especially at low tide as the water is very shallow, but it's a very pretty and well-maintained beach with beautifully soft, white sand. The pool is small but perfectly formed and good for a refreshing dip. There is only one restaurant but they have at least 3 specials every evening and I found the vairety offered perfectly adequate, even for a vegetarian and occasional pescetarian. I would definitely recommend this thoughtfully-planned, relaxing place.

Wonderful Exciting and Romantic Hotel ”
We stayed for 1 week. It was everything we wanted. I was quiet, not many rooms so not many people, romantic and calm. We enjoyed the excellent service and very good food with daily specials that were the best. The snorkeling and scuba diving was excellent but best to have them take you by boat to nearby island but it is possible to dive near the hotel. Kyaking was great cruising along the shoreline. Going to the local village for things was easy and the local church for Sunday mass was very nice. A tour of Bohol was great seeing Chocolate Hills, Tarsier reserve, butterfly zoo and other places We always felt very safe and comfortable. The spa was great and massages excellent and not expensive. This was our second trip to Bohol and we enjoyed Ananyana Resort the best and we will return there. It was only missing a gym or work out room found in larger resorts.

A place to relax and get away from the city life”
We had a good and relaxing stay at this hotel. If you have been to Bohol before, do not plan on doing the city tours, and just want to unwind and have a quiet time, then this is the place for you. The feel of the resort is very nice. The downside for me are 1) lack of food choices, it would be nice to have seafood (island type food) rather than all western food. We had to go to Alona Beach via tricycle to have good seafood and barbeque, which is ok since i havent been to Alona Beach. The tricycle though is quite expensive at Php200 one way! 2) Food and activties are a bit overpriced. I know the resort is probably better than any other resort in Alona Beach, but It would have been better if activties such as Island Hopping was abit cheaper. It costs around Php5,000 if you book with the them. I got our island hopping trip at Php700 for 2 people at Alona beach. For the price of the room, i hope the activties and food would be priced reasonably so that we do not have to leave the resort. But overall, I would still recommend this place and will definitely stay here again

Wonderful stay”
The food was wonderful, my husband and I promised we'll go back here when we're in Bohol for that. It's a little on the expensive side but it's worth it. Would have loved to have TVs at least in the room but we understand that it's because they want the guests to relax in the hotel, it was pretty minor anyway. The room was huge which we loved and the lighting was just perfect. The staff is wonderful, they're all very friendly and helpful and one of the reasons why we loved our stay in Ananyana.

Will recommend it to my friends ”
It was the best so far. We've been to different places in panglao but ananyana is the most private place that we've tried. Will definitely comeback on our next visit but will stay a bit longer for sure. The food is quite affordable. And the beach is awesome.

A quiet and relaxing weekend”
At Ananyana Resort we stayed in a Family unit with 2 single beds on the first floor and a king bed in the loft with a balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and ocean. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There was no wi-fi or TV in the room but at the pool area and dining area wi-fi was very good.

Beautiful and relaxing but lacking in practical considerations for travellers”
We loved hanging out in Ananyana. The whole area was tastefully decorated and relaxing. There were plenty of lounge chairs and hammocks. So even on days where the sun was hiding, we had a nice time. The family room is of a good size too with a lot of natural light and a spacious bathroom. However, we couldn't get over the fact that there were no doors for the toilet and shower area. We were a group of four and you can imagine the discomfort of having practically no privacy when one of us had to use the bathroom.

The best service you can ever receive”
Words cannot be described how we've enjoyed the stay at Ananyana. The best service you can ever get! Everything was taken care of, even unspoken requests! (Another room was set up for us after our diving trip, so that we can have shower even we've checked out!) No TV in the room, so anyone whom does not appreciate the quietness of this place, be prepared and don't complaint.

Lovely hotel with great service”
Lovely hotel where we had a great stay. Only 12 rooms, very relaxed, intimate feeling, amazing service. We loved our stay there and recommend it highly but we agree with all the comments we read before going: - A bit far from Alona Beach: 10 mns by car or tukutuk / Only one restaurant with delicious food but limited selection - A bit expansive: the price is a 5 star price but it is more a 4 star (lovely rooms but not amenities in the bathroom, always have to ask for towels etc) Also the price of the tours they offer is way too expansive, 3/4 times more of what they offer in Alona Beach - Beautiful beach but it is too shallow to swim in it - Very small swimming pool

Mervellous stay at Ananyana”
Exceptional stay in this wonderful hotel. Garden is very nice. Restaurant and patio are well designed. The pool is small but as the number of room is low it's not an issue. It's a luxurious hotel so the staff is very warm and listen client request but also know how to be discret. The beach is not exceptional because you have low tide and there are sea food. But if you swim less than hundred meter it's so wonderful you have exceptional alive corals with so many fish. It's so unlikely to find an hotel where the beach is a very nice spot for snorkelling. Good italian restaurant, it's quite rare to eat well in Philippines. Only Italian food but very good. I also advisse you to do a day trip excursion to see the chocolate hills. However the tarsier (it's a bit disapointing) Our stay was very relaxing and we really appreciate the warm staff, the clear water.
