Andalay beach resort”
We opted for this upmarket resort to dial down from the stress of London life before 3 months of down market backpacking. Boy was it worth it. The staff were charming and kind, the food great and the facilities stunning. Worth every pound!

Libong Andalay”
Our room should have a view. Paid for view. But got trees in front. Breakfast is great (excellent choices). Hard to get a cup of coffee (always a line). Food are good and reasonable prices. There is no other places to go for food and drinks in the area. No enough chairs for guests. Pools are super clean and nice. There are lots of hermit crabs on the beach. Love them! Great resort to come and relax for a few nights. Nothing to do, but walk the beach or take a nap. It is a superb place to unwind and be happy. Transfer prices for both to and from the resort is on the high side.

Beautiful holiday ”
We just returned from 4 nights at Andalay. The staff all spoke English and were genuinely friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. They arranged all transfers for us and a tour to see the dugongs. The room was lovely, the pools and beach were clean. We hardly saw any plastic on the beach/sea. We highly recommend staying here if you want peace, quiet and a naturally beautiful Thai experience. Thank you to all Andalay staff, especially Khun Nee.

Excellent”
You will see a beautiful sunset in front of the hotel. The sea water is crystal clear. Clean bedroom. Friendly staff. The hotel has all facilities but we think it need more attention in cleaning the swimming pools and sun bed, better choices for Breakfast and better spa facilities. Overall we think it is overprice for what we get.

We stayed 2 nights in one of their beach side Oriental Villas. The staff were super friendly and made our stay really enjoyable. The restaurant offered mainly Thai breakfast selection and our dinner in the evening chosen from their extensive menu was delicious. Price average. We departed by privat6long tail boat

Lovely place”
Knowing that ko Libong is not a huge touristik island, it's amazing what the owner and the staff do to that resort. Food was good, not to pricey and every one of the staff was always friendly and helpfull. We felt really welcomed. Would totally recommend for a few nights.

Good location for relax. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Room is clean and the landscape is nice. However, the food is ok but not great. There is room for improvement on food both quality and taste.

Nice resort on a island full of rubbish”
The resort is nice with especially very nice staff. BUT: there is no sense for clean nature or beaches even in the resort! We were actually quite shocked of the whole island but also the beach right in front of the resort is full of rubbish every day. We collected it with our kids a few times but all the people need to do so much more to fix this place, it’s a mass! So sad to see paradise go to hell! :( and ruined a little the atmosphere of our vacation to us… we wonder how many tourists will come in the future if not better taken care about.

Excellent stay”
We had an excellent ending to our months journey in Thailand at Andalay Resort, Ko Libong. The resort has been designed beautifully, the gardens are wonderfully layed out and the swimming pool is fantastic (you can order your cocktail to the side of the pool). The swimming pool is also the place to watch the incredible sunsets! We stayed in one of the Anda rooms, it was spacious, clean, comfy and had some really great features! The resort is on the beach, opposite is a small island that you can kayak too, the water is crystal clear but it is quite a rocky area with the tide going in and out so you have to catch the right time to kayak. ko Libong is still a very remote island, there aren't any official places to visit or taxis to take you anywhere. What I can recommend is getting a scooter from the resort and exploring the island, there are plenty of remote beaches to find, with hundreds of beautiful shells and giant hermit crabs! The fishing village is really interesting and the locals are really friendly - try a breakfast down there! Next to Andalay are two other beach bungalow resorts so there are other options for somewhere to eat walking distance. There are several local spots nearby too, the island is dry so be aware that alcohol is only sold in the resorts (at a higher price than normal). We took a day trip to Ko Muk and the emerald caves - I would really recommend doing this if you're staying there for a while. The staff at Andalay are brilliant! Very helpful and happy people! I would 100% recommend Andalay Beach Resort, perfect place to chill out in luxury!

Very nice hotel, location and staff.”
If I had to describe the Andalay Beach Resort on Koh Libong in a single sentence I would say that it's a very nice, boutique sized,rustic-Thai style, beach side, resort with friendly staff who go out of their way to please. I only stayed at the resort for 4 nights but in that time I got a good feeling for the resort, it's staff and the amenities and location that it offers. Koh Libong is a small, very uncommercialised island so if partying all night long is what you're looking for then both the resort and island are not for you, however if an unspoilt Thai island and a relaxing time fit your bill then this could be what you're looking for. While at the resort I hired a motor bike, you can see most of the island and what it has to offer in a day or less, went cycling, hill walking, running on the beach, walked to a nearby island at low tide, went swimming, saw a beautiful sunset, went looking for and failed to see dugong, sea mammals that feed in the local waters, and had some great Thai and western food at the resort restaurant. And with more time I could have gone snorkeling, kayaking and out on a long-tailed boat tour. So a resort to relax in but also much to do if your looking looking for distraction from resting. The staff were all helpful and friendly but the lady at reception, who's name I didn't get, was particularly helpful with much of what I did so I attach her photo as an example of the great resort staff. Just a few other comments, I think Andalay is the best resort on the island, I certainly didn't see any other similar styled or quality resorts on my travels, Andalay has 21 double rooms / chalets with another 2 being built, so small in size, there are no well stocked shops on the island, many small local convenience stores but nothing larger, and outside of the resort there were few alternative places to eat, so for me important that the food at the Andalay is good.

6-star services with great environmental stewardship. Will definitely return.”
We had a 3-day stay on this island-getaway resort. We were truly happy with the services and how much attention in detail the staff and the owner of this resort put. We stayed at many other 5- and 6-star resorts, but we were most impressed by the sincerity and the level of detail that the staff at Andalay Beach Resort gave us. We were greeted by our first name by all the staff even though we never met them before from the pier on the mainland side all the way to the first step into the resort. This is a pleasant surprise as most Thai business would greet us as "Mr. Customer" in Thai. We were impressed by the very friendly and peaceful vibe and smile everywhere including the gardeners and cleaning staff. The staff are also knowledgable and helpful. The landscape is very well kept. You can see the grooming marks on the sandy part and no fallen leaves. They use native plants to decorate the yards and to protect the sand from wind erosion. The beach is so lively, especially during low tide and after the sun set. We were greeted by so many crabs and hermit crabs. Low tide is really low and you can walk to another small island nearby where locals go there to dig up some clams. You could imagine marine lives we saw when the tide is back by just snorkel out from the beach. The architectural design of the buildings blends very well with the surroundings. We kayaked parallel to the beach to the northern part of the island. We could not see any of the resort's buildings. They are well hidden and not creating visual conflicts compared to the other resorts along the same beach. The villa we stayed is very cute and spacious with a deck and big bathroom built-in. The food and drinks are good and at a reasonable price even though hotel restaurant is more-of-less your main choice. They did not jack up the price at all. We got Kayak and bicycle free of charge to travel around the local community. We can rent scooters or arrange a pickup truck from the hotel as well. We had an excur

Great Hotel on a remote island”
Had a wonderful stay at Andalay Beach Resort. The Resort just opened a couple of month ago and has a very well designed architecture, spacious and comfortable rooms with great interior design and a lovely well cared garden. As Libong still is very remote with very little tourists, there is nothing to do except snorkeling and just relaxing. What we were looking for. The tide has a wide range and the difference may be around 2-3 meters. So while Sunset was dry and looked like on the moon, morning and daytime was full of water. We liked the different atmosphere. The water itself was cristal turquoise. I would definitely recommend Libong if you look for a remote place. Also the locals at the fisherman's village and also around the island are super friendly. They are not really used to tourists and find it exciting to talk :-)
