Good value when on sale”
For $5/night, you can't really beat this place on koh phangan. May have been so cheap because it was after the full moon party. AC works very well, beds are decent, they provide towel/shampoo/soap, and the location is good if you just need a place close to the pier to crash after doing a visa run. Only thing I didn't like was that they didn't have anybody working the day I checked out, which is pretty inconsiderate considering they had my ID an knew I was cracking out that day. But again, if it's $5/night you won't get better value on the entire island

Outstanding Staff”
Facilities and cleanliness are pretty standard. However I cannot fault the staff at Goodfellas - they pushed for us to get involved and meet new people. Chloe was particularly amazing - you felt you’d made a real supportive friend out of her rather than just someone who worked at goodfellas! Her and Steve were particularly helpful in a tough situations and I cannot be more greatful.

Great people, fab location, fun resort”
I was booked to stay for 2 nights to start of with, but then as it was such a great little spot to go from each day, I stayed for 5 nights in the end. All the staff I encountered were excellent, really great at their jobs, super helpful... They gave me lots of places to visit on the map, which I went to all and everywhere is great. You have full use of the resort down by the beach, with an amazing pool with bar that you can be in the pool an have a drink, but not one too many, you've got to swim remember! They also hire out scooters two types at a very good price. They have a bar just beside the hostel that serves great food, some of the best I've tried on Koh Pha Ngan, you can choose from westernised food or Thai. There are plenty of bars along this strip of road to cater to all needs. Overall 5 stars...I'll definitely be coming back here when visiting the island again! A big thank you to all the employees you made my stay from okay to being great.

This is one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at. You also have access to the Hacienda Resort with a pool, wet bar, and access to the beach. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I loved my stay here.

Bit further than the map said”
This hostel is tied in with the Hacienda beach resort so you can use their pool and chairs which are next to the beach. The room was ok despite having quite a few people in, beds are not the sturdiest and there is a few flights of stairs. The room got a bit dirty with sand in and they gave us toilet paper and soap but didn't clean the room fully every day. Price was cheap for the area although not for Thailand, staff were ok although you can book some things cheaper yourself like ferry tickets from the port.

Very friendly personal! Nice room, good price. Our room was on the highest (4th) floor with a very good view. A small inconvenience - it is forbidden to bring food and drinks to the rooms and for some reason we need to take off our shoes in the common area.

Awesome time!”
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night while we went to the Full Moon party and had an amazing time! The owner welcomed us with a free shot and a smile. After putting our bags in the room we went back down and ordered some food and they serve the best burger we have had in all of Thailand so far! They organized a pre-full moon party also so all the guests came down for drinks and a game of beer pong, which was awesome and they also arranged taxis for us all to get to the party. Although we read on this site that kyakas are available to use, they sadly are not as that is old advertising, but a light breakfast is included. Room was clean, the shower was remarkably hot which we loved and overall a great atmosphere!

it was okay”
It is value for money. Pretty basic for everything. Pha ngan is best if u take motorcycle n this place is close to tong sala, it was okay fr us. When half moon party lots of backpackers are there so it's fun environment a bit. Just the bad part was wifi is very2 bad. But all place in pha ngan really have poor wifi, so i guess it's acceptable. There's a nearby restaurant with good wifi though so on that issue is solved. It was okay.

My best stay in Thailand”
I had an amazing few days here. The whole staff is amazing, friendly. I was here for the full moon party and all the solo people came out at the bar for pre party fun, body painting and trust me, take the bucket from here rather than the beach cause its totally legit alcohol at the bar. We all went together and had agreat time. If you just want to chill at the bar or sit outside, its great to talk to people and I met some good folks. Special prop to the British owner/host ( sorry dont remember your name from all the drinking haha ), he is a legend with his stories. We shared too many beers during the stay. Although, its a bit far from the beach where the party is but it is the place to stay, meet people and have a good time. Cheers till the next time Im there :D

Good value for money ”
Our room here was perfect, very big and spacious, very strong ac, hot water and clean bathroom. There were holes in the bedding, and old neon paint on stuff b it that didn't bother us. Right next to a 7/11 so you can keep water in your fridge, I don't think they like you buying things and bringing then into the hotel. However there was literally never any staff around, it took ages to check in and out. Internet was in and out. Th free use of facilities at the beach resort was nice but not enough sun loungers and a bit of a dirty pool. But At 450bht a night with ac you can't complain.

The best hostel in the world, no joke ”
This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. I literally consider this place a second home. The hostel is owned by the nicest british couple you’ll ever meet. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I have never loved a place I have stayed more. I have met some of my best friends and my boyfriend at this hostel. Literally could not say enough good things. You’re making a mistake if you aren’t staying here.

Good base and great food for good price”
Within walkin distance to the pier but not so great for lots of nights out partying on Haad rin. Wifi wouldn't work except at the restaurant in the resort. Really good traditional food for a good price right next to the backpacker building. Helpful and friendly staff gave advice on where to go etc.

It's a really nice place to hang out and meet new people at the bar just downstairs! The bartender is the friendliest that I've ever seen throughout my trip! Cheers to him (I believe his name is Mai)! Mai speaks good English and is really comfortable in making friends and sharing his stories. I'll definitely come here again!

Pretty good”
The room has windows covering to outside wall, so on the morning it get really bright early. We went there to do half moon party, the organise a drop off 3 times between 9 and 12pm. The room was clean and really big. just a bit away form the market.

staff is really helpful. They had this shortage and had given me a single bedroom instead of double, but then Jessie the reception guy came back with an apology and number of solutions. overall good atmosphere, recommended for solo travellers.

Good value but not the cleanest place”
Super friendly and helpful staff. A great location near food markets, shops, restaurants etc. Great free breakfasts with HP Brown Sauce! Good chill area with bar and food. Room wasn't very clean, mouldy pillow, stained bedding with holes.
