Located on Ao Wongduan, rather calm but beautiful beach. The Thai House was really nice and clean, enough space. Friendly and helpful service, room service every day. Nice beakfast buffet and good food at the restaurant. It was a great stay!

Great place to stay on Koh Samet. Ao Wongduan is one of the larger beaches and a good place to stay with lots of restaurants, a nice swimmable beach, and close to other beaches to walk to. We got a pool side room and loved it, since it was just a few steps to the beach and also the pool. Quiet at night in the room and just the right amount of daytime activity and evening fun.

Ao Wongduan is the most beautiful point in Samed. There are light white sand, blue-green water and good facilities. Vimarn Samed Resort is the most popular in this bay. There are fabulous scenery and peaceful pages. The meal also clean and tasty. Therefore the impression are all-day calm and excited night life.

The location at the far end of Vondenguan beach is good: not that much noise from the bars, but still you have several dining options in the evening to choose from, unlike if staying on a more quiet beach. For the day we would walk to a more peaceful and less touristy beach nearby (walking distance to several, best was Ao Wai not more than 30min walk), and in the evening benefit from the restaurants and bars. Vondenguan is not a party beach, but it does get crowded and is very touristy. Smaller beaches nearby are more idyllic for swimming. We liked the resort's cozy summer cottage feel more than the very modern and expensicve resorts in the middle of the beach. Simple and cute white cottages blend nicely with the nature, which on this fully built beach is not the case with most resorts. Not a cheap place, but Koh Samet is really expensive. Like everywhere in Thailand, walls are paper, the only minus there. Bring earlplugs if you choose the cheaper double cottage. Excellent breakfast!

This was my first time time to Koh Samet and we chose La Lune based on good reviews and price.  The hotel was good and clean, which os surprising considering the sand on everyone's feet.  They are little foot wash pools outside the lobby that help.  The restaurant was okay, but really shined when the evening came and they do a beach side barbeque each night. Delicious.  This hotel tended to be quieter than its neighbors and my wife and I appreciated that.  Plenty of other restaurants and mini-marts are within walking distance.  The beach was good and wide enough when tide was down.  Even when up, there was enough space for sun worshipers. The pool is clean and partially shaded at certain parts of the day.  The staff is friendly and seem to work non-stop.  So at least you can become familiar with them.  I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know wanting to go to Koh Samet. We took the Cherdchai bus from Bangkok-Ekkamai to Ban Phe. Round trip tickets were about B320 each and takes about 3.5 hours each way.  Once you arrive at Ban Phe you can walk across the street to Nuantip pier and buy a ferry ticket to Ao Wongduan.  You have to wait until they have 20 people before they go, but its not bad.  They ferry you to an initial pier, but you stay on the boat and they continue on to Ao Wongduan.  Once in the bay, you transfer to a flat boat that takes you to the beach, with a charge of B10 per person.  If you have trouble walking or getting around, I would recommend finding a speed boat that can take you directly to the beach.  Transferring between the pier - ferry - boat - beach can be tricky.  Once on the beach, you have to pay the National Park entrance fee, B40 for Thais and B200 for everyone else.  So have some cash on hand before leaving the pier.

Nice little hotel on the 2nd line just below Tom's Pizza, in the center of the best beach - Wongduan. Our poms was happy to play there, and superior room (bungalo) is very comfortable and new.

getting there: from ban phe you can take a ferry from wongduan pier to the resort leaving at 10 am and 1:30 pm for baht. drops right at the beach without the necessity of taking a songtau. you may or may not skip paying the park fee depending on whether the officer meets your boat. got a good deal from agoda. owner tried to upsell based on proximity to the beach but all the amenities were the same so we stuck with the agoda deal which was maybe 200 meters off the beach. room was not a bungalow but a series of four rooms together. sound was not too bad though you could occasionally hear the neighbors next door. amenities included: garden view, air conditioning, hot/cold water, queen size bed, refrigerator, hotpot, daily coffee and water, sophon cable tv. there is a porch with chairs and a place to hang wet clothes. bed slept fine though all asian beds are a little harder than i'm used to. only issue was low pressure in the shower. the guesthouse offers a 10% discount at their restaurant. the restaurant food was good and comparably priced. they have raised platforms and cushions to lounge away the day. staff was efficient and pleasant. they were not pushy about letting you just hang out and ordering the occasional drink while you enjoyed the sand and surf.

food was good and convenient. service was very good. .....but 160 baht for a Leo beer. really? 200 baht charge if you bring your own drinks. But a lounge table for the whole family for the day in the shade next to the surf.....can't complain.

Almost on the beach. Fairly quiet. Small resort and hard to find. Plenty of restaurants, the best is called bay watch with English speaking owner. When checking out the owners tryed to charge me for a faulty kettle.. I got my deposit back. It's a shame that they do that.. Still it never ruined my holiday but the owner was a bit insensitivity.

Just great experience with plenty of fun and entertainment heat beaches clean sea water and plenty of water activities

The hotel has potential but some of the staff members were highly unprofessional (rude). Breakfast service was below standards and ended early. Eggs were no longer served and a lot of the food trays were empty or cold. When confronting staff members, some of them were rude and mot interested. I would not directly recommend this place

clean, with AC and wifi, towels, shampoo, and water bottle provided. friendly staff. very good value for money.

The resort was basic, in terms of extra amentities offered, but the rooms were so beautiful and comfortable. A perfect space for those just wanting to have a great room close to the beach!
