"Panama Apartments was awesome. The design and layout of this apartment is simply unique. The view out the large glass window of the Lake Wakatipu and the mountains were stunning. Everything you need in the kitchen is provided and if you want to, you can even bake in here. The apartment is about 10mins walk away from Queenstown Central. Recommended to walk as parking is not easy in town. Apartment is clean, looks new, fireplace was awesome, bathroom does not have a full-size tub but i does just find. There is even a computer and printer provided at the work area in the apartment for your to print out itineraries and stuffs. Whatever you need, you'll get it here. We got a 1-bedroom apartment which cost are $390/night. Might seem high for the budget traveller but if its your honeymoon and you want to splurge on a room, THIS IS IT. Worth every cent. And also not forgetting the staff. They were friendly and more than welcome to accommodate you to book activities in Queenstown. Highly recommended. Very impressed. "

"The Earnslaw Lodge picked a prime piece of real estate for its location when it was built in the 1970’s. It’s a pleasant 15-minute walk into Queenstown through its . amazing lakeside park. You will see dozens of newer, and more expensive lodgings in Queenstown- but few can match the Earnslaw Lodge’s lake- view rooms for jaw-dropping views. Not all of the rooms have the spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu- but the ones that do are the ones to reserve. You may not see a lot of Queenstown because you might not leave your room!"

"our stay at peppers beacon hotel and queenstown were the highlights of our trip to new zealand, it was our first visit to new zealand and although we went during the rugby world cup to watch the rugby matches we were so glad we came to queenstown as well. as soon as we arrived we were immediately upgraded to an apartment with awesome views over the lake, it was breathtaking. the apartment was really luxurious we especially enjoyed the heated tiles in the bathroom."

"Been coming to Queenstown for nearly a decade and this accommodation for what you get and location was easily the best value for money. Friendly, unintrusive staff.....came back to a clean apartment every day after being up on the slopes. The location is only a few minutes walk into town and really close to a supermarket. I will most definitely be staying here again. 5 out of 5!!!"

"The Rees Hotel overlooks Lake Wakatipu and behind it the Remarkable Mountains. (That really is the name of the mountains, not my description of them). The hotel is quite new; our room was beautiful; and it had a fabulous view. The Rees was, by far, the best hotel in which we stayed on our 2.5-week trip to New Zealand. The hotel is about a five-minute drive from downtown Queenstown; but the hotel provides a shuttle bus service; there are also water taxis available; and downtown can also be reached by a lovely 40-minute walk along the lake. In one does not want to travel downtown to eat, the hotel has a gourmet restaurant with excellent food and a great wine list. Neither the hotel nor the restaurant are inexpensive, but my wife and I thought that both were a very good value for the money that we spent on them. "

"We booked Marina Apartment due to its relatively cheap rate (around 50%). Upon arrival, we found it was stunning & really out of our expectation. The unit was spacious & tastefully furnished. Everything was in good condition. This beautiful unit is just by lake side & we could see the pretty snowy mountains around. Shopping centre is just within a few minutes drive. Surely, we would highly recommend others to choose Marina Apartment when travelling to Queenstown."

"This was a last minute booking for me and was a bit worried as Queenstown was booked out except for this place, and was wondering why. Didn't need to be, as found this place perfect for what I wanted. Only a short walk into the main hub of town (although the walk back is steep, but was heading off to do the Routeburn, so wasn't a problem). On the main road out to Airport and there is a bus stop right out the front, which is very handy. Quite, clean and comfortable! Well worth it!"

"My husband and I spent four wonderful days in Queenstown over the New Year’s holiday and stayed at the Alexis Motor Hotel. We selected this place based on outstanding reviews and it’s easy to see why everyone likes it. It’s located about a ten minute walk from the heart of Queenstown but enough outside the hustle and bustle that it’s very quiet at night (and this even included New Year’s Eve - but we were close enough to be able to watch the fireworks from a balcony and sheltered from the rain). We asked the proprietor for a recommendation on good sea food and he gave us two choices. One was a fairly expensive but highly rated restaurant. The other was a seafood shack on the Marine Parade that was cheap but really good. He didn’t even know the name (it’s Aggy’s) but knew it was a great deal. He was right! The rooms are spacious, clean, and ours included a spa. The view from our front window was of the Incredibles and the Frankton Arm of Lake Wakatipu. From the kitchen window (kitchen has cook top, refrigerator, sink, and microwave) we could see the gondola up to skyline. Not bad for a budget location. There is a charge for local calls and we had to make five to confirm or change tour reservations. We went to the office to settle the bill and they said it’s only $2 so forget it! What a great place and what great people! Note that they provide 30 min. of free internet per device per 24 hrs. This means that your best strategy is to log on early and at the same time each day."

"The location was exactly how I like - not right in the city centre (no noise, no crowd, no pollution), but very close it. By very close, I mean easily walkable. There's a short cut to reach the centre centre by foot - which is uphill (only about 100 meters or so - the rest of the way is quite flat) when you go back to the hotel but almost all of New Zealand has big ups and downs. It wasn't a problem for me although I had a bad knee scrape at that time. The room itself was quite spacious and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The staff were very responsive and professional. The room was serviced everyday (basic cleaning and replacing towels etc,) - I was surprised that they even did the dishes when I left in a rush left a few dishes in the sink. Like many other hotels in NZ, this is also easily reachable by Super Shuttle from the airport ($20). Overall, I had no complaints and had a very pleasant stay. I think it's very good value for money. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone."

"I spent 3 nights at the St. James Apartments. On entry I was a little concerned, the was vaccuming going on and few people getting in or out. Specially since it is not our standard reception area like big hotels, I was a little worried. Check in was easy headed to Room 307. Actually it was a suite, two huge beds, each equipped with shower etc, then the was the kitchen a living room and dinning table. In honesty 6 people could fit just fine. Everything was clean and well appointed. The the was the view from the balcony ( looking directly at the very green hill was nice every morning. Plus you are in the middle of downtown Queenstown. So you are proximal to grocery store and restaurants. The staff I dealt with mostly was super helpful, she even helped me book my day flight to Milsford Sounds ( must do). Now it was a little pricey and a little noise since Room windows open to a road. But all I needed to do was close the window and noise dead down. Thank you for great stay! Keep it up!"
