Nothing more than a relaxing resort, it doesn't have any sort of facilities.”
it is a nice relaxing place far from any sort of busy surroundings. quite old place, rooms very small and poorly lit. The front desk staff are supportive and charming. The only dispointed issue is there is no lift at the resort do you need to be really fit to walk through the three stip floors stairs. however, we enjoyed our stay.

Don't Go”
Unkept , nearly abandoned, we paid at reception and were let through the abandoned bar and restaurant and passageways to our damp and mouldy room. The A/C didn't work until a guy fiddled with something in the roof space,the fridge was filthy. We left and returned and hour later to collect our bags on move onto another resort. We are still waiting for a refund.

"Get away in paradise"”
The Baan Krating resort was really something special. The resort consists of around 20-25 rooms that are located on the curve of the bay in Khao Lak. If I’m not mistaken, all rooms face towards the ocean and are nestled in the trees and back drop of Khao Lak beach. Our room had its own balcony with a table and chairs. It was really relaxing to sit out there and watch the ocean. The room was spacious and clean with a medium sized bathroom. Our only interaction with hotel staff was when we went to reception to ask questions, which I thought was really nice because it felt so secluded from the world. The cleaning staff were like ninjas and came in while we were out of the room, made everything nice and neat again and left without a trace. They would put local flowers or plants into a bottle of water for the room which was a really nice touch. The walk down from the room to the beach was slightly difficult as you have to make your way down a handful of steps. The stretch of beach that the resort overlooks is simply stunning with not too many people. It was a perfect escape for a couple of days. What I like about Khao Lak is that there is really not that much to do which forces you to unwind and relax in paradise!

A place to visit again”
we spent several days in baan krating resort and found the place great. wooden bungalows set amidst a tropical forest with huge and old trees, flowers, bushes, geckos, flying bats, a beautiful view on the ocean and a beautiful sunset. the resort is close to a national park, which guarantees being away from the crowd, yet it is not too far away from restaurants (taxi, by foot). the small private beach is connected to the large sandy beach of khao lak, and is reached by descending a number of stairs. overall there are a lot of stairs and people who do not like climbing stairs, who do not like solitude, or being surrounded by the noises of a tropical forest at night should go somewhere else. for us it was the perfect retreat and we would certainly go back again.

One of the best panoramic sea view in Khao Lak! Cosy and quiet hotel nextdoor with the KhaoLak LamRu National park. Garden looks wild, but bright and maintained. Bungalows and pathways shadowed enough. Part of the terrasses in front of bungalows is often in the sun. Wi-Fi and internet access is only in lobby. Two restaurant is available right in hotel: in main building and Muanlay Restauranton on the other side of the hotel. The breakfasts in main building is so-so and overpriced. May be, the main reason of it - 5 min (+100 THB) by taxi to the nearest restaurants. Beach is only 1 min walk downstairs. Sunbeds is present. So this hotel for people, who love the walk, do not affraid a stairs and for relaxing in nature.

The hotel is on Khao-lak and 5-10 minutes walk from a national park Khaolak-Lam roo. They reserve the natural beauties of jungle. The trees are huge and very old , I guess. Take about 10-15 minutes walk down to the beautiful beach. The cottages are lovely ( I booked 2 cottages for myself and my parents- Pavillion) All are very lovely decorated and clean.

Lovely location hidden away in the trees”
located a little under 1.5 hours from phuket airport, baan krating was a lovely hideway just before khao lak. we had one of the slightly larger bungalows, with air con. it was quite a big room, with a balcony overlooking the bay - very picturesque. generally the staff didn't have good english (always exceptions though) but they were all very friendly and did their best to help as needed.

Lovely beachside bungalows”
The Baan Krating is in a great Iocation tucked away in the jungle of the national park at the very end of the beach. The bungalows are spread down the hillside with varying sea views, some absolutely stunning. There are lots of steps to get down to the beach but in my view the location and setting is worth it. However, it wouldn't suit the elderly or infirm. Once on the beach you can literally walk for hours. There is a nice pool and also a sunbathing area near the beach with a reasonable quantity of sunbeds. During our stay there were only a few pedants who went down before breakfast to reserve their favourite sunbed with their towels. Deluxe rooms are rustic but comfortable while the Pavilion rooms are larger and more modern. We liked both. Rooms weren't offered with breakfast and we felt 200 baht per person was a bit too much for the fairly dull offering (omelette, toast, cereal) so bought our own from the supermarket in town. For evening dining there are restaurants all the way down the beach and the setting is just lovely, or there are more options in town. The town is a 20 minute walk or a 100 baht taxi ride. The staff are very helpful and informative and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
