Wonderful experience in a thai style wooden house ”
The only reason for us to spend a night in this small town is to reach Meaklong train market by 8.20am. We had a hard time locate the hotel as it was late at night but Baan suan Amphawa surprise us the moment we drove into the carpark with a thai style wooden house surrounded by nice garden and a very friendly staff (he called himself the care taker for this home-stay) showing us right to our room after verifying our names, without doing any check-in procedure. This little act is so impressive especially after a long day drive from Kanchanaburi. We will given a big, clean room on the second floor and we love the unique thai home style decoration. The friendly care taker even off all lights in the garden to show us fireflies and draw us a very detail map to Maeklong train market which is located about 10km away from the hotel.

Riverside hotel surrounded by nature”
It's a riverside hotel, but not near Amphawa floating market. You must have car to go there. The rooms are large and clean. Garden area & terrace are very nice and cozy. In the morning, there are Buddhist monks paddling the boat to the pier in front of the hotel for alms-offering.

Good for relaxation ,ambiance ”
We've been visiting Amphawa more than eight times over the pass two to three years, each time we tried difference places around Amphawa( I only selects 3* resort as a budget ). To compared with others 3* resort Baan Suan Amphawa price is at high side ,especially if you book on weekend, due to shops only operating on Thursday to Sunday/ 4D/ week. Baan Suan Amphawa is an old Thai style two stories with big garden facing riverside. We choosed to stayed at one of the room on ground floor, which is big, was pleasant at first sight. Many mosquito in the room ,has kinda musty smells which effected our stay at the rest of the night. ( Speedy checkout the next day morning). Breakfast was poor only one kind pork boil rice soup as main, and 3+1 coffee ,Milo (no tea). If you choose to stay here you have to self drive or get your own transportation there( it's not a friendly traffic place).

Beautiful traditional house, lovely owners”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.the owners are extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The building is very traditional and absolutely beautiful. Our room was massive with had such high ceilings, plenty of windows and very good air con as well as a super comfortable bed. It's a bit out of town but we really liked this. It's a peaceful location on the riverfront and its lovely to watch the locals going about their daily business. This was by far our favourite stay in thailand and would certainly recommend this to anyone interested in a peaceful, relaxed stay close to the floating market. To get to the floating market the owner is able to organise local boat to pick you up, which is a really fun way of getting to the market. Breakfast was traditional thai food which was also thoroughly enjoyable.

A great little getaway spot and nice rooms, hotel is 5km from the markets but is very tranquil and quiet. Very nice rooms and thai decor is great, staff were very nice and even picked us up food both nights free of charge. Would definitely stay again!

Peaceful location, very beautiful scenery”
We got a very clean room in a very nice old Thai style house. It is located next to the river. We can enjoy morning breakfast with the riverside view and see the life of people along the canal. From the homestay, we can get the boat to many places with 300 baht only and it is for more than 3hours with private boat pick us up from the homestay. Our room rate is affordable and great place to stay!

We got great room in Thai style. All wood and high space above. If you want to visit floating market you will have to use some transport. We liked boat taxi that staff will arrange for you. It was really pleasant stay also there were a cat that was socializing with us since day one :)

this hotel is actually very far away from the floating market, and it's really hard to find, it's impossible for you to go there by walking. if you look this in a good way, this hotel really quiet and peaceful. though the couple living above me were making really big noise during the night. overall it was a nice hotel, really good staff.

Beautiful stay , great hospitality”
Me and my family stay there 2 days, Thai house style absolutely beautiful surrounding with threes located near by the river, but be careful in the night time there are lot of insects and mosquitoes. Host are amezing, he arraged everything that we were ask with hamble and smiling face. Only Thai breakfast they served in the morning and some kind of toast bread and yams. For sure if I have chance I would stay here again.

I really enjoyed my one night there. The place was not bz so the manager allowed me late checkout which I really needed and didn't think I was going get it. He went out of his way to help me find a local bike rental place from another 'resort/hotel' since the usual one was closed. Great experience and would go back again

Impresssive”
Room is simple decoration. Most of furniture made by wood and some cement. Most thing I liked is location connect with canal that In the morning you can give food the monk. Monk transport by small paddle boat. The worst thing that i don't like is restaurant in the resort. If you want to have dinner in the resort. You need to wait very very long time because they will order from other restaurant for you because they don't have chef to make dish.

Off Season”
Being in the off season they might as well have been closed. Property was in disrepair. Lightbulbs out, relatively dirty, no daily room makeup, no TP, only 3 tv channels which I assume is because they cancel their cable in the off season. Totally isolated and about 4-5 kilometers from anywhere. No transportation in this neck of the woods unless you own your own vehicle. Had to walk to 7-11 and back amongst mean dogs, owner offered me a 6' bamboo pole to use to battle the rabid, mangy mutts along my walk. He was nice enough however to have his wife take me on their motorbike to the floating market. Hd reservations for 3 nights but couldnt see myself walking 5k back and forth. Had to cancel the last night and spoke with the 'boss' about a credit back of one night. She reluctantly said she would do what she could as I lived in Bangkok. Took my phone number and never heard from her again. If you want a place to stay totally isolated, this is the place. I wont be back and wouldnt recommend it to Travellers.

A beutiful old Thai styl hause in a garden near a small canal , a bit difficult to find the place. Because it locates realy in a natural garden (jungle) It was decorated with basic fernitures for example a clean simple bed, old TV, toilet and offered an easy breakfast (coffee, tea and Patongko and Khow Tom mu/Kung) . In the morning there are 3 monks stop bei on a boat to get the food . It has an excellent WiFi . We like this place.
