There aren't that many boutique guest houses like this that offer you such unique hospitality in a setting that is quite stunning. The owners Kaya and Mark have quite obviously invested a lot of time and love and the atmosphere is so soothing that you don't want to leave. The rooms are large and comfortable with stunning sunsets and orchestrated bird sounds every evening before delicious home cooked meals. You couldn't wish for more.

Wonderful place”
A beautiful location, run with passion by friendly owners. This place between the rice, pineapple and bamboo fields is both relaxing but also still not too far from town. Grab taxi is easily arranged. The location is clean with good wifi (was able to remotely work without problems). The coffee is the best I have had in Thailand thus far. When in the neighborhood I will certainly return again.

The loft was beautiful and the location as well as the surrounded area invited to relax and be happy. Both hosts had been very supportive and gave great Tipps for outings and things to do around. I really don‘t understand why people give such a low rating for an outstanding spot. Please keep in mind, that you are still in Thailand and for example hot water is nearby in every hotel I have been only limited available as it gets heated by small electric water boilers with a smaller water capacity. Nevertheless there was enough hot water and the climate works well too. I absolutely recommend this place and will come back next time I will be in the area. Thanks

As you, we are sometimes wondering why guests give a rather low rating for our location. It seems to be the case that one expects to stay in the downtown area. We are definitely not and that is one of our qualities. It is a bit frustrating as we clearly describe where we are located and the map on any booking site clearly shows... :-)
Mostly Recommended”
We loved this place as we had a 4 day journey ride from Malaysia. As soon as we arrived at night the staff was waiting for us to check in. Once we had checked in, the room was really simple and so cosy. It was big too for the two of us. The landscaping is amazing as the owners are really down to the details. They are helpful in recommending places to visit and eat. However the homestay is quite far away from the tourist attraction. Renting a motorcycle or vehicle is an option. We Highly recommend you to experience your stay here.

It impressed us that you and your partner drove all the way from the peninsular to the north of Thailand. Regarding your feedback on reaching Chiang Rai's tourist spots. Please note that almost all these places are scattered around the city and the province. There are hardly any in the downtown area so anyone who wants to go sightseeing needs a form of transportation. We are at walking or cycling distance to the famous Black House museum though! We offer free bicycles to explore the beautiful countryside and mountains surrounding us, we rent our automatic scooters and we have a lot of experience organizing day trips, drivers and guides or calling a cab for our guests.

Lovely hosts. Private retreat away from the hustle n bustle. Rooms are very comfortable. Location is central to the region. Dinner is a must as is breakfast. Would definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Magic Garden”
This is a tranquil, enchanted garden bursting with happy plants, butterflies, and birds. The hosts, Ya and Mark are super friendly and helpful. They truly make you feel at home. This is an excellent place to get away from the hustle and noise of the world and actually relax. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Beautiful and relaxing place”
A very friendly+helpful owner. The room we stayed was great (we asked to be in the most quiet room possible so we had a chalet room which was really good). The selection of breakfast is good enough and very tasty. It was a bit far from town but this is why we chose the place (drive to town is about 15-20 minutes). Quite easy to get to see other attractions which is far away from town like tea plantation, other mountains attractions etc.

You are right, we are not Chiang Rai's downtown area even it is only a mere 10 km to the heart of the city. Several sightseeing spots are at the outskirts of the city and the most important ones are scattered around our beautiful province so we do make a pretty good starting point to explore.

The place is very peaceful! Friendly host and friendly dog there too! We love how they have touched up our room to customise for our honeymoon there. And they even have rental motorbikes which we rode for the whole day! The host was very kind to recommend us places to go too. No regrets in choosing this place.

Full of natural”
Fantastic location right away from Chiang Mai / Chiang Rai city. Made me feel so welcome and it was like staying at a friend's place when we having breakfast with Marc and Ya. The view looked amazing and we were very happy to be there. Previously, there was only 1 tree and Marc built the whole garden and rooms. If you want to be a real countryside, there would be a perfect choice. Only 1 km to the black house and you may enjoy a wonderful bicycle experience to get there. ( Gentle reminder : You would better get to the hotel in the day time. and let the drier of tuk-tuk / songthaew find the location easier )

We are sorry that you had some difficulties with the service of your tuk-tuk or songthaew driver. They are only familiar with the downtown area.... :-) However, there are plenty of meter taxi drivers knowledgeable about the city and using the GRAB taxi (our local Uber) makes it even easier !
Lovely Woden house in the middle of rice fields ”
My boyfriend and I stayed at Bambuh hotel for our first night in Chiang Rai. The hotel is located near by the airport (maybe 10-15 mins drive) and around 20 mins to town. Ya and Marc (the owners) were so nice and helpful. The upper room we got is so lovely with a huge balcony and rice field view from our bed. It was just what we were looking for - cozy, local and welcoming.

The only downside I remember is that the way to the place was dark. The place has a nice atmosphere. We got a concrete room which make the room warm even without a heater. The room was also very spacious and surround with nature. We brought left over food with us for dinner and the host was happy to warm up our food and provides kitchenwares for us to use.

We loved our stay with Ya and Mark, who were wonderful hosts and really went out of their way to accommodate my currently complicated dietary requirements. A remote and beautiful place for relaxing, with a lot of attention to detail in the rooms and garden, great coffee, great food and interesting conversations.

Lovely getaway”
I stayed only one night at Bambuh, but it was the perfect, quiet get away that I needed. The room was very clean and really spacious. The decor was simple and stylish. The bed was comfortable. The rooms also had a small fridge and a hot water kettle, which I appreciated. Just an FYI, the room I stayed in had no bathroom door. Traveling alone or with a partner, it was fine, but could be awkward if traveling with a friend or acquaintance.

Third time and still sublime”
Quiet and out of town, set in a lovely garden. Amazing old wooden house (we stayed in loft room). Proper chilled. Nice sunsets. No breakfast (available upon request) but that’s fine for us cos we’re lazy and there’s some great spots around town.

location is a bit far out from main street so it would be convenient for those who have cars, overall the room is clean but only one thing is the shower, when it comes to hot water, it wan't so strong,,,water stream was kinda weak. apart from that it's all great

Dear khun Pantila, Thanks for staying with us and taking your time to send us your feedback. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay in our traditional wooden stilted house. The water pressure shower in your room ok but the bathroom offers a very large rain shower. A wide beam of water "falls" down and it differs from a standard shower head with a narrow, stronger beam. We are only a mere 700 meters from the highway. Honestly, it is very easy to arrive at our place and get around even without your own car. :-)
Superior Delight Room”
We had a short stay of 3 nights at Bambuh Boutique Homestay in early November 2019. Overall, it was a positive experience. Mark and his wife Ya are professional smart owners/staff who offered many great suggestions/recommendations upon our arrival. The grounds are beautiful with well-decorated rooms, great taste, scenic views and a mature vibe. My boyfriend and I both loved the amazing handcrafted artisan shower gel and shampoo provided in the bathroom which was available for purchase on-site! Wish we had brought some back with us. The location is private, quiet and in the middle of nature. Our only notes were that found getting there to be a bit difficult at times (self drove); Google maps didn't help (delay). The guests upstairs from us sounded like they were doing gymnastics every morning and night; definitely noticeable. Cleanliness - The bed sheets had some kind of oil stain upon arrival that was not from us or our stay, the room needs to be vacuumed not dusted or swept.

I wish you would have mentioned this to us so we could have talked to them. We are a bit surprised that you seem to have had some problems finding our place as we have road signs and you should find us seamlessly with Google Maps were we are listed as a business as well. Sorry to hear that there was an oily stain in your bed sheet. We guarantee that it is not from a previous guest. Every room gets fresh bed linen before a new guests arrived. Thank you for your feedback about the dust. We instruct our staff to clean with a vacuum cleaner but it seems we need to remind them to actually use it instead of using a dust broom!
