Overall an excellent hotel”
+ excellent location in being convenient to museums, concubine lane, street art, etc. Great value. Really good facilities with communal dining area, water filter, fridge, etc. It was also clean throughout the hotel and my bed was very comfy. - overall this hotel was excellent. Minor gripes are that we stayed in a family room with 4 separate single mattresses placed on the second floor and only 2 had mosquito net covers and the other 2 did not. The steps to the 2nd floor are also narrow so it's important to be careful going up and down the stairs.

Great location in centre ipoh town. U can get everything near the hotel. Just 3-5 minutes walk to concubine market. The price is cheap with beautiful room and toilet. Everything is super clean. Recommended.

Nice hotel, staff very friendly, allowed us too leave our bags and take shower after check out. Toilets and bathroom very clean, bedrooms a bit dusty on the floor. Need curtains on the windows.

Parking so easy. I check in around 9pm, there have many empty parking space. The room is clean and nice! I liked it. The private bathroom is big.

Fantastic”
The budget hotel is really sweet, full of traditional charm. It is super clean though the bathroom is shared. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only setback was the TV channel was not working and the staff has to download programs using USB for us to watch. So if you do have TV-on-the-go, it's best to use your laptop to watch. Other than this, I'll rate it superbly and will come back again.

Lovely boutique hotel with superb location”
Love that the location is superb. It is only walking distance to some of the highly recommended kopitiams in oldtown ipoh , and from the famous Concubine lane too. Hotel was simple with all the basic necessities fulfilled, they even provide water dispenser at the pantry. Kudos for helping save mother nature with that move(less water bottles to be thrown away!) Decor was also nice, in and out of the room. Love the tiles on the floor(u can get creative for some instagram posts). My only complaint? There isn’t enough storage space in the room, so it is more suitable for people who travel light. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Overall is good except the alley upstairs a bit dark. It’s a bit scary during our stay when we need to walk to the toilet during night time. The alley is too dark and seems like nobody staying except us.

Second time staying here. Will come back again. Lots of good cafes within walking distance. Clean comfy. Functional for short stay. Too bad bathroom not attached. But for RM75 a night it’s still great value. Family room next door was noisy but it didn’t bother us. Window to airwell so not much natural light at all even though ventilation still good. Overslept & nearly missed train coz didn’t set alarm & thought it was still early morning!

Its my second time at BanLoong. Front office is amazing as always. Cleanliness on the other hand is needing much improvement if comparing to my last visit about 2 years ago. Location is the best ever, right at the centre of Ipoh Oldtown and easily accessible to all that Ipoh have to offer. Gladly recommends

Air conditioner wasn't serviced. Poor staff service.”
Credit card machine not functioning but there wasn't any notice for it. So, i had to walk all the way to the nearest ATM, about 10 to 15 minutes walk to get cash. I was presented with a spoilt key card. Hence, I wasn't able to access the lobby. The receptionist wasn't available as he went out to get food - again, there wasn't any notice. I had to wait for a good 15 minutes for him to come back to let me into the hotel. There are probably better accommodation out there in Ipoh with similar prices and better service. The air-conditioning in my room wasn't serviced properly. It was hot.

OK room in average hotel”
While we can say this place is bad, it just wasn’t as good as all our other stays in Malaysia. The room was ok but you had to whisper in the room so others wouldn’t hear you in the room. We could hear everything in halls and room next door too. The location was ok but you had to cross a very busy street to go into the old part of town. The staff were indifferent about helping. Internet wasn’t working the entire stay because the password they gave guests was wrong. They couldn’t care less that it didn’t work and wouldn’t admit it was their issue.

Staff told they don’t serve any Bank Transfer and Card Payment upon arrival”
The day we arrive, we were told by one of the staff who mentions that they not accepting any bank transfers or card payment systems whereby they claim the line connectivity issue as we need to walk for 10 min to withdraw cash for them. To be honestly asking us to walk for 10 min to withdraw cash is unacceptable whereby they should at least store a QR payment system just in case bank transfer or card payment is down. I don’t know, this is me trying to share my review while on the other hand I was hoping the hotel would improve their service also, till then I’m not coming back until they provide a better service and hospitality
