Lovely Homestay”
We stayed at Banana Homestay one night so that we could visit Mt Ijen. We found the accommodation very homely and the couple who ran the home stay were very kind and gave us delish dinner and breakfast and also gave us lots of tips about travel in Indonesia, they helped us find train tickets and finding our way to Mt Ijen. The accommodation was clean and very nice, the room was comfortable with good airflow. Would definitely recommend to other travelers. It is a bargain for the price.

Wonderful Host. Clean environment. ”
Host is friendly and extremely helpful. They personally picked us up late at night when we told them we would be arriving late due to bad traffic jam to Banyuwangi. The house is clean and tidy. Room is equipped with basic facility like standing fan and power plug. If you are used to air-conditioned room, the room may get a little bit warm. On the day of check-out, the host offered to send us to the harbour. They also helped us with the purchase of ferry ticket to Bali. Saving us the hassle of having to deal with the unfamiliar ticket procurement process. We’re lucky to have met such a wonderful host that made our stay in Banyuwangi a really pleasant one.

Fantastic, friendly homestay”
The owner Fryda is so warm and welcoming and was always wanting to feed me. There is no AC but the fan in my private room kept me perfectly comfortable. Fryda helped me arrange a tour to climb Mount Ijen. Banana Homestay exceeded my expectations and I would definitely recommend staying there when you visit Banywangi. Thank you Fryda for such a great welcome.

Banana homestay is great accomodation if you plan to visit Ijen as they will help you arrange driver and mask for Ijen tour for very good price (250k per person in week day). Also breakfast was perfect and we felt there very nice .

Amazing Couple”
The owners of this homestay were genuinely some of the nicest people we have ever met. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. They helped us book our trip to Ijen at a discount. They let us borrow warm clothes for the hike. They were also very funny and entertaining. We would recommend this place to anyone who is in the Banyuwangi area :)

Best homestay ”
You can absolutely not ask for more from the wonderful family at this homestay. If you want to explore East Java, stay here. The home is very nice, breakfast was amazing and it's in a very nice location. In the group I was with at Ijen, I got the best deal out of everyone. Tell them wherever you want to go, like Red Island, they will make it happen and for the best deal anywhere. I will always compare other homestays to their amazing hospitality 🙂

Excellent homestay! It was a short stay before our trip to Kawah Ijen, yet the host Fryda and her husband made it so comfortable and friendly. Fryda managed to help us secure the transportation to & fro Ijen. She even went out of her way to send us our breakfast at the train station as we had to rush for the train. Definitely a stay to remember and thumbs up to the hosts for the most hospitable stay ever. I highly recommend!

Finding the relax ambiance in the house, felt like home, they treat me as family, amazing host ever. Lovely Family”
We had a great stay with such amazing hosts. They went out of their way to help us over the two nights we stayed. They organised us an Ijen tour for a great price (cheaper than the standard rate!) and lent us a scooter for the day to explore giving us advice on where to go. After our Ijen tour we had a crazy rush to get to the bus station but they made sure we had a packed breakfast to get us on our way.

Host is Friendly and super helpful, house is clean and tidy. equipped with basic facility, please note that no AC (Air conditioning) at the room, if your children get used to with AC, they cant sleep. The staff is so super friendly, they help you with everything and they treat you as their friend. I felt so welcomed by everyone. They make sure you have the best time. Also the breakfast is unbelievable good and big. On my 4 months of traveling I have never had such good breakfast! The room and bathroom are pretty basic but you still get more for what you pay!

Really nice place, super clean and comfy. Great welcome drinks we food and breakfast is the best, super filling. The host goes above and beyond to make sure that you have anything you want. She took us on her scooter around to the laundry place, the pizza place and even to the ferry port. Was sad to leave.

En allant loger au banana homestay vous aurez simplement l'impression de trouver une nouvelle famille. "Papa et mama" comme ils se sont appelés sont toujours là pour essayer de trouver des solutions a vos recherches. Je suis arrivé tard sans manger, un coup de scooter avec "papa" et me voilà avec une portion de street food. Le lendemain matin visite de quelques endroits de la ville avec "mama" en scooter. J'ai fais le pont Ijen en scooter, ils se sont occupés d'aller me chercher un scooter et d'en faire le plein avec l'argent que j'avais avancé. Pour être tout a fait honnête, pas d'AC, pas d'eau chaude et une mosquée pas très loin et donc des appels a la prière réguliers. Mais rien de ça ne peut entacher l'apport de la bonne humeur, l'amabilité de ce couple merveilleux. En plus de ça, un petit dej de super qualité, qui vous calera pour un moment et fait avec des produits frais quand vous vous levez. Si vous devez passer a Banyuwangi c'est sans aucun doute l'endroit a reserver.
