Nice location that is near CRRU, there are a lot of restaurants that you can walk. There are a lot of car parking. The staffs are nice, mind-service and friendly.

Old hotel / Nice chioce of buffet breakfast / kind staffs”

We had a warm welcome feeling from the staffs there. The rooms are ok and have good beds except there is no terrace in the room. The hotel, in general, is outdated and worn out. Location is not somewhere I usually stay but I felt safe in the area. Anyways, buffet breakfast and internet wifi are acceptable. We can not really complain, but we would not go there again as there are different choices and the location is more convenient.

The Bandu Resort, as of November 2019, is under a new very committed and enthusiastic management, which will definitely improve an already very good structure. Location is excellent if you need to get to the airport as well as for daily trips in the Chiang Rai area. Not far from the city either, although very good wating/drinking options are within walking distance in the nearby streets, especially if you like to live the genuine local scene away from the tourists. Nice (salt water) pool open till evening (9pm i think). Last but not least, very good value for the cost. I'll stay here again next time I am in the Chiang Rai area. Our thanks and best wishes to the new manager!

Bandu Resort is a nice property with good amenities and it's a great value for the price. The staff is very nice and helpful and the town is a short walk away. Breakfast was also nice. We would stay here again.

The Bandu Resort in Chiangrai”

We travelled to Chiangrai during the rainy season so naturally it rained a lot. It meant that we did not really enjoy the gardens and swimming pool as much as we would have liked and these are the highlights of the resort. There was a significant lack of signage so finding the place was not easy. In fact the first sign we saw was through the gate of the resort itself after driving around some obscure lanes for 10 minutes. My wife was sure it was someone's private house until she saw the small sign inside the garden. The staff at the reception were efficient and attractive but not overly communicative and didn't seem particularly happy to see us. No-one helped to carry our bags or show us to our room. Breakfast was acceptable but certainly not a highlight. The breakfast room was large quiet and echoing so we felt the need to whisper every morning. Some music would have helped. The first morning there was cutlery so we spread butter on our toast with a teaspoon. The room was large and comfortable and clean. Everything worked well. There was a lack of bins in the room and the shower was clearly designed for very short people. The only switches for the lights were by the door and it would have been more convenient to have switches by the bed like in other hotels. The location was okay and there were restaurants nearby catering primarily to students of Chiangrai university. Unfortunately it was very hard to park near these restaurants because every front of every building barred parking. We parked in front of a hair dresser shop because there was no sign saying we couldn't. A man came out and rudely told us we can't park there unless we were going to have a haircut. I of course immediately moved the car and made a mental note never to have a hair cut there. These things will leave a bad impression even though it is not the hotel's fault. Overall the hotel was fine clean and comfortable.

I have recently received an e-mail saying I had cancelled my reservation, this is not true We stayed there two nights & I would stay there again in a heartbeat if i was staying in the area. They had no record of my reservation when I checked in so I payed them myself, I hope Agoda doesn't charge me again for my stay.

Staff needs a little bit of improvement”

Overall we had a pleasant stay. The staff in the reception needs to be more welcoming and interested in the guests. Thai people are normally warm and greet their customers every time they meet them. I did not see this in the hotel staff at the reception especially with the staff doing their night shift. Maybe they are too tired. But at least a little bit of effort would do. I commend the staff in the dining area. They are hard-working and very respectful.

I stayed on the 1st floor of the hotel with garden and swimming pool view. The room is clean but the bathroom smells soooo bad.
