we really enjoyed our stay at the shangri-la hotel in bangkok. it is our second time in bangkok, the first time we stayed closer to the mbk shopping centre and so the riverside area was a welcome change. it is a very large hotel, so we felt slightly like a number, but the facilities are very good. the pool was crowded so we didn't go swimming. the river shuttle service leaves every half an hour and is very good. the 'river city' shopping centre is a waste of time though. in all i'd recommend the 'shangri-la.'

Avani Riverside offers great value for your money. The hotel is very modern and elegant and it offers a breathtaking view over the Chao Phraya river, Asiatique Nightmarket and the skycrapers of Bangkok Riverside. The perfectly clean room was equipped with a super comfy 2,40m bed and an open bathroom. The rooftop area with an infinity pool and a fancy bar was another highlight. Breakfast also was delicious with a huge variety of dishes. The staff was extremely friendly and happy to help with anything. Since the hotel is somewhat away from the center, there is a free hotel shuttle boat to Sathorn Pier. From there you can go anywhere by BTS or by boat. Close to the pier there are also lots of food stalls and authentic restaurants. All in all it was a great experience and we can really recommend this hotel!

This hotel is located by the riverside, where the best hotels are. There is only positive things to say about it:  - Perfect location (in the Saphan Taksin Skytrain stop). The hotel runs a boat that goes every 15m/30m (depending on the hour of the day) to that Skytrain stop. The boat takes only 5m and it is a really nice ride. - Instead of taking the boat to the Skytrain you can walk to the back streets where you can easily get taxis, get food in local eateries, buy stuff in local shops (there is a 7Eleven 1m away with normal street prices), get cheap massages (the ones offered together with the hotel are very expensive - probably very good but haven't tried myself) - The rooms are very big, super clean, modern, etc... - Wifi is included with the room and works spotless everywhere, from the rooms to the pool (I had a room on the 21st floor) - The personnel very professional - The swimming pool is the best part of the hotel, it is a huge swimming pool located on the 6th floor from where you can see the whole Bangkok riverside. - If I had to think about negative points I can only think in the outreageous prices you have to pay for drinks or food in comparison with Bangkok prices (I only had a bottle of sparkling water during my stay - it costed like $8 if I recall correctly). But this shouldn't bother you at all as you can eat and drink in a million places outside the hotel.

Great hotel in Bangkok riverside. Cell phone hit spot wifi for guests are the way to go! I hope other hotels in Bangkok will follow. Breakfast is awesome with plenty selections.

In my opinion, the lebua is one of the best hotels in Bangkok. Although we did only stay there for one night, we enjoyed the stay very much. The room was huge, with a big bed, couches and complimentary minibar. The room attendant was very professional and caring. As we did arrive too late in the evening to get to the tower club lounge, we were provided with complimentary drinks as a compensation. Best of all was the view over the city from the balcony in the 57th floor, espacially at night. There are a lot of interesting streets you can walk around close to the lebua, but it is also easy to get to the bts from there. A must-see is the bar/restaurant in the hotel, breeze, where you can fetch drinks and food while looking at the skyline of Bangkok - wonderful.

I stayed at the Lebua for two nights in June 2010. Having stayed in other 5* hotels in Bangkok previously I can happily report that the Lebua is amongst the very best hotels in the City. Great facilities in the rooms, including free movies and Bvlgari bathroom products, to excellent hotel amenities, ranging from a stunning roof-top bar & restaurant through to high quality pool and gym facilities. A good Riverside location means that this is also well placed for some sight-seeing of Bangkoks attraction, from the temples and Grand Palace to some of the night markets.

We've spent there four nights. Location of the hotel was really nice, on the riverside, where you could take a river taxi to main attractions of Bangkok. Also there were lot of shops (a big one in the hotel building), restaurants and POIs. The rooms are huge, super clean with all necessary equipment (even with washing machine) and with spacious bathroom. We had a stunning view from our balcony on the river and skytowers of Bangkok. Breakfast was very nice with variety of food, restayran was also good. Pool area was nice, with nice urban view. All this for a really good price. What was annoying: it was really noisy (but we ubderstand that it is difficult to find peaceful place in Bangkok...), when you open he window noise is massive (we lived on 18th floor...). Also air con is quite noisy and may disturb your sleep, also it was hard to control (it seemed that it was always freezing, no matter what mode you have chosen). Also there were some noisy renovations in the hotel during our stay, but we could cope wit that. It was really good stay and this hotel is really worth consideration if you intend to stay in Bangkok for a few nights.

Room is clean and smell good. Riverview is beautiful to see all bangkok riverside. Hotel is near AsiaTique, a tourist spot for night time. Perferct choice for your money!

Stayed over the Loy Kratong weekend, and had a wonderful time. Attended the great buffet for the event night and food was so good. Also received a room upgrade for free as I have stayed here before. Definitely will be staying here again.

I’ve been using this hotel for a number of years when I have a Bangkok stopover due to its great location. This is the only place I know of where you can actually sit out over the river when having a nice breakfast. You can easily walk to the sky train or take the complimentary Sheraton shuttle boat. You’re close to China town (walkable if you want to stretch your legs). The popular river ferry (including the tourist ferry) stops next door to the hotel. There are nice little cafes at Riverside next door or you can try the street stalls. Lastly, there are lots of little back streets and lanes in easy walking distance to wander which offer an insight into Bangkok life. The rooms in the hotel are comfortable and depending on the room offer a great view. Best views come from the Executive suites (my last stay). The Executive club is pleasant too. If you want to on the river and have easy access to everything else, this really is a great place to stay. This won’t be my last visit.

ibis bangkok riverside hotel is very accessible. from the airport we just ride the bts station to krung thonburi. from krung thonburi bts station the hotel is just another 5-10 minutes taxi ride. the hotel also offers free shuttle service to the bts station which is very convenient when you start your itinerary for the day. the rooms are clean and quiet. at the same time, you will have a nice view of the chao phraya river. moreover, the hotel staffs are very accommodating. they attended to our rooms requests, inquiry on places to visit and directions, and even talk to taxi drivers when they don't understand where we wanted to go. overall, our stay in ibis bangkok riverside hotel is very pleasurable and we will definitely book it again when we return to bangkok.

The place is right beside Ibis Riverside Hotel. Room is big and spacious, bed is super comfortable and they provide basic amenities like water and some biscuits at the lobby. Service is excellent, staff was very helpful. One of the day, it was raining non-stop and one of the staff - Yo had even offered us her personal umbrella for the day. Bathroom - Water pressure is not one of the greatest but it does the job with good water heater. Location is a bit off from the main road so you have to make a bit of detour to get to BTS station or the Pepsi Pier for the ferry. At the main road, there are 2 7-11 shops and there are a number of food shops available for you from breakfast. Noted, all the shops are closed at late night.

The Mandarin Oriental hotel, the original hotel situated on the River of Kings, intrigues passers by on the river taxis, and captures the imagination of all who are lucky to visit or live in Bangkok. Arrival there for a celebratory 2 night stay lived up to all expectations. Service is immaculate from the moment you step out of your vehicle, paperwork executed in comfort in your own room and all amenities explained by the person who becomes your personal butler. The rooms are well-appointed and luxurious, on the smaller side but with no reduction of style or comfort. Air con, often the most disrupting element of any hotel, is quiet and effective. All guests were invited to a cocktail reception to meet the GM - where alcohol and canapes were of the highest standard and the atmosphere in the colonial Author's Lounge beyond compare. As part of our celebration we booked dinner at Le Normandie - the French restaurant on the top floor of this building, overlooking the river or the city. We were taken to our secluded table - privacy and elegance are maintained despite the small size of restaurant and looked after beautifully by the staff, including personal service from the Maitre d'Hote. Food and beverage were all sublime. We also had dinner on the riverside terrace - a magical environment for a select menu. Breakfasts on the riverside terrace are again out of this world, though if you were to come merely for breakfast rather expensive. The buffet includes all manner of delights pleasing all nationalities and tastes. The hotel is easily accessed by skytrain and then a lovely, courteous shuttle boat service. Valet parking takes the strain from those who have approached by road and taxis are carefully sought for all without their own transport. The area over the river includes a Thai restaurant, Spa and leisure facilities. All of the hotel building and grounds are remarkable for their flowers and trees.

It was kind of tricky to locate the hotel initially, enter by Soi Charoen Krung 72/2 will lead you to the lobby and carpark. Check in was swift and credit card is required for deposit. Room is spacious and well equipped, wifi fast, bed comfortable but somewhat low for our liking. Toilet shower head was tricky to use and the hot water doesn’t seem to be hot, the bathtub shower was excellent though. Shower gel and shampoo was aromatic. Rooftop restaurant is beautiful, superior view over bangkok riverside . Food was excellent and delicious with competitive pricing. Overall a very good choice stay near the bangkok riverside with competitive pricing compared to the nearby hotels.

If you are looking for cheap, big room, clean, near to asiatique, easy to find public transport, in riverside area Bangkok, I recommend this hotel. Try the river transport, only 14 baht to grand palace. Don't forget to taste durian and mango fruits at market near river terminal at grand palace. At night, you just walk to asiatique, find foods, shopping, watching calypso show and relax at cafe until midnight

Amazing hideaway location right on Bangkok Riverside. Only 15 minutes walk to the busy Khao San Road and 5-10 minute walk to river ferry crossings. Staff were polite and friendly & breakfast although limited was perfect if you are planning some sightseeing in Bangkok. You wouldn't realise you were staying in a hectic city if you stayed here. Would definitely stay again down to location and transport access.

i would highly recommend the navalai river resort. the hotel is in a great location. right on the river at ferry stop 13 which means that there is easy access to the main temples and the grand palace. you can also get the boat down to the sky train which takes you to the malls. the hotel is also a 5 minute walk from khoa san road, the main tourist street in bangkok. there are plenty of restaurants, stalls and amenities just outside the hotel. we also stayed on sukhomvit road and had a 60-90 minute commute into the tourist area each day so location is a big factor when choosing a hotel in bangkok. the hotel also has a great restaurant right on the river.it nevers seems overbusy but i don't know why as it was the best food we had in bangkok. the rooms themselves are nicely decorated and well maintained. don't expect the same as you would get at one of the 5 star resorts but they are still modern and reasonably spacious. please note that a city view room seems to mean that you get a room overlooking the road which can be noisy with traffic and bars. the cheapest rooms (serene corner rooms) are in the middle of the hotel and whilst they overlook the next building they are much quieter. we actually asked to downgrade to get a quieter room so don;t bother paying the extra! if we went back to bangkok we would definitely consider staying here again.

Each year I hunt for a quality location on the Chao Phraya River which runs through the heart of Bangkok. Riverside locations are prime spots for the most expensive hotels costing many hundreds of dollars a night, but true little gems such as the New Siam Riverside exist. Now I have shared a wonderful little known secret hideaway which is well within the price range of middle class travelers to enjoy. For a few bucks extra the top floor rooms have private balconies with table and chairs to view the passing river activity.

We were only at Theatre Residence for one night, but staff was incredibly courteous and the rooms were clean and well-organized. Definitely one of the most comfortable beds we slept in during our stay in Thailand. The hotel is also beautiful, with a well thought-out layout and furnishings. The location is off the main road which can make it a little difficult for taxis/ubers to reach, but nearby is a wonderful little market for great street food/massages/simple souvenir shopping. It is also incredibly close to the pier which enables you to quickly get to some of the key sites around Riverside, like the Palace. We found that taking the boat was preferable to visit many of the riverside classics if you don't mind walking a little (the boat is also very fun). Great place!

I have stayed at the Bossotel on four different occasions each for 4-6 nights. The room are big enough for Thailand standards and the staff very friendly and willing to help at all times. I always when checking out ask them to post an envelope which they accepted gladly (I just left them a fee that will cover the cost of the postage) Most of the accommodations in this price class only have a shower but the Bossotel have a bath and shower, water is always hot and a nice full strong stream of water. The room were always clean with newly linen. The hotel has its own spa but on the ground floor next to the hotel (with an entrance to the hotel’s lobby are a massage spa, with some of the skilled masseurs I came across in my 17-20 various visits to Thailand. The Bossotel is in the area where you will find the most 925 silver jewellery shops and precious and semi-precious gemstones. It is a 7 minutes’ walk from a sky train station and a 5 minute walk (in the same direction of the sky train station) to an apartment store where you will find everything you will need. In this complex you will find most of the international known food outlets and also local dining. There is also a very nice and very cheap local diner 1 minute from the hotel. The breakfast of this price class hotel has more to offer than some higher star hotels in Bangkok. I received free internet every time and I would gladly recommend anybody to stay at the Bossotel

when i was early check-in, all staffs are so kind and nice service. We went on a family summer vacation peacefully. the hotel room so clean and pleasant. my room is too big, big restroom, big window. everything is cool. the location is perfect. BTS saphan taksin maybe walk 15minutes. nearby robinson department and river city. i am willing to go again. I think it was the best choice in Bangkok.

Very recommended for couples! Location is not the best, it is near China Town and the largest golden Buddha, but fairly accessible. Other than location other things are impeccable. Definitely recommended.. if you are up for the authentic Bangkok experience - living by the riverside, loy la long hotel is not to be missed. The best hotel I have ever stayed in Thailand!

Our stay at the Amdaeng Hotel was lovely from the very first moment we arrived. Very beautiful and sensitively decorated interior, super friendly and welcoming staff, helped us with many little things we had to arrange and the rooms with the river view and a free standing bathtop are simply the best ~ Always recommend a stay at Amdaeng!

I stayed at 4 different hotels in Bangkok and this was my favourite. Yes, it's a bit further away from the main attractions, but a taxi is cheap or the river boat which stops near most main sights. The Tongtara is in fact located only 10 minutes walk from Asiatique, an amazing shopping and restaurant area which houses a night market from around 4pm onwards. The stalls all sell quality products with some more touristy type things, but on the whole it's much nicer wares than Khaosan Road. The food is also good here with a number of different restaurants- some very reasonable (where I ate), and others very expensive (which I looked longingly at!) But if you have the money, all good! The hotel itself is set back a little way from the main road, with a very plush lobby, a great pool (which many of the days I was there had no-one else in it) a decent breakfast, and lovely big rooms. Myself and my friend were staying there for a few days and we had a double bed each, one whole wall was a window out onto the city, tv, fridge, big bathroom- it was great!

A five star view at an affordable price in Thonburi, Baan Wangling Riverside is a delightful boutique hotel that is well worth making a part of any trip to Bangkok. Our stay here was a highlight of our time in Thailand, Baan Wanglang Riverside provided a wonderful respite from the city and our river view room was a perfect spot to begin and end each day.

We really enjoyed the quiet laid back atmosphere, frendly and helpful staff, awesome location amd individualized rooms. The best viewis from the suite on the 4th floor, my wife has a bad knee so we had to setle for the Ayuthaya room on nthe scond floor overlooking the river and it was still very nice. Riverside rooms with view of Wat Arun are the best. You can find other hotels with lower cost, but you are paying for the location here and it is worth it. this is our third visit to Bangkok in six years and we will defilentely stay heer again next trip for a few days.

Well recommend if you're looking for stay riverside hotel with reasonable price and full of standard facilities. There're might be some noise from boats during the day but it's normal if you stay riverside. Anyway, it could be better and feel more comfortable if hotel can transfer guests by boat since the nearby village before accessing the hotel get us feel insecure and unpleasant.

Praya Palazzo Hotel is situated across mainland Bangkok, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and this is what I like the best. It has a colonial style architecture and is simply a stunning place to stay for any relaxing holiday getaway. The only mode of transportation to the hotel would be via the boat. The hotel has it's own boat to fetch their customers from the pier. All you need to do is to give them a call from the pier and they will arrange a boat to pick you up shortly and it will only take 5 minutes to reach the hotel. Besides the unique location, I would also like to compliment on their excellent customer service that makes our stay more enjoyable. It's always nice to see someone waiting for you with your room keys when they know that you are reaching the hotel. When we came back to our room on our first night, it's really comforting to see that someone has already make our bed and has even turned on the air-condition for us. In order for us to contact them for whatever issues when we are at mainland Bangkok, the staff even arranged a mobile phone to us for free. Another thing worth mentioning is the breakfast. It's not like those international buffet breakfast from any other hotels. Breakfast is served from their restaurant and all you need is to order from the menu and it will be served to shortly. It's definitely a star hotel and I would rate it 10 points and beyond if I could.

Personally I prefer the Royal River to the Hilton. I stayed for 10 days in Royal Suite for a fraction of what it would have cost me in the Hilton after reading some of the reviews I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed staying at the Royal River. Ok yes, it could do with a refurbish and would benefit from free internet, but The Royal River has a unpretentious charm that I loved and how long do you need to sit on the internet for? I was traveling on my own and found the staff very helpful and friendly and I was not bothered or harassed outside of the hotel as I was when staying at the Hilton. Like all Hotels avoid the costly trips on offer in the lobby, walk five minuets to the shuttle boat stop called N 16 ( North 16 ) and for 15 baht get dropped off at most of the main attractions . A great evening stop off for riverside combination of modern shopping mail, night bazaar and food is Asiatique. I enjoyed the food and there are plenty of little shops around I will be coming back to the Royal River Bangkok.
