Feels like home”
Bann Elephant Home feels like you’re at home. Nice, quiet and beautiful place. The staff is very helpful, will answer all your questions and give suggestions when needed. At the same time they will leave you alone when you don’t want to strike a conversation.

Great value for money ”
The staff at this hostel are friendly and great. They bend over backwards to help. It’s location is a plus. I would recommend this hostel for your stay in Chiang Mai, especially in the Old City, An Elderly Backpacker.

Great staff, great location and a nice room. You can book lots of things with the hostel including a trip to the elephant sanctuary which I would highly recommend!

Great Hostel with Relaxed Vibe”
We really enjoyed our stay here. The building is traditional Thai teak and has cool chill out and communal areas. The traditional build does mean you can hear your neighbours like they are in the room with you but people were respectful when we were there. Staff are helpful and nice and the breakfast is good. It's also a great location in the old city but a little bit out of the way so quieter.

Great atmosphere”
Bann Elephant is a beautiful traditional Thai home with lots of wood and cozy decoration that really feels like home. There are lots of places where you can sit down comfortably and meet some new friends or just read a book. The only bad thing is that the common bathrooms were not clean, the shelves looked like they had not been cleaned for months and there was a thick layer of grease on the water heaters. There's also no toiletries and not even soap. Ratings could easily go up if someone would take care of these basics.

But not the best hostel in Chiang Mai

Cheap, noisy and smelly bathroom”
It's a good deal for the price u pay, bathrooms were really smelly, there is no shampoo, shower gel, you have to bring your own. Wooden floors makes the while house super noisy, if u are not lucky with neighbours as I was. The room is small, but clean, we had problems with ants, they bite us over night. I would give it 5/10.

Good”
My main issue is that it smells like stinky feet everywhere. I just couldn't stand it. The toilet needs improvement. The lighting in the room is too gloomy.

Nie polecam”
Miły personel i dobra lokalizacja i koniec plusów. W pokojach są pluskwy, proponowano nam inne pokoje, wszędzie brudna i poplamiona pościel. Nie warto.

We couldn’t sleep!”
When we first arrived at Bann elephant, I was so happy as it looked very chilled and unique, however everything is wooden, and it’s only a wooden panel between rooms, so we could hear everything. Shared showers wasn’t clean. Communal area was lovely, staff were helpful.

Acceptable”
We were there when some of the bathrooms were under construction which was unfortunate

Uncomfortable, noisy, no daylight...”
We had booked a room with own bathroom and gardenview. We had our own bathroom but the gardenview was a 50x20 cm hole in the upper end of the wall. Garden view like in a prison or even less. It was really noisy all the time cause the rooms were next to the hang around area. Also we heard every step from the people on the room on the floor ebove us. One night we were sitting outside in the later Evening at the smoking area. Every time we were sitting there they usually turned on the fan against the mosquitos. On that evening they turned of and told us it’s time to go to bed. Well no problem but the way they told us were really impolite. Can’t recommend this hostel. Sorry.

Awesome Place”
I absolutely loved the look, feel, and experience of the Baan Elephant House. It seemed like the best combination of location, amenities, and value on Agoda so I chose it just based on what I saw on the site. My time there was so great that when I went back to Chiang Mai I stayed at Baan Elephant House everytime. A good mix of travelers stay here and it can be a quiet place to enjoy yourself.

Ease ad comfort in the old city”
We were mostly using the room for a homebase as we met with friends around town and looked for jobs. The old city is probably not the ideal locale for this sort of visit but Baan elephant was a pleasant place to stay. Additionally those working there were helpful and even allowed me to use their iron to prepare my interview attire. This is a totally clean and chill guesthouse that I will reccomend to all friends coming into town!

Great for the price!”
Located near the southwest corner of the Old City. The three story open tree-house like building is cool. We stayed for a few nights. The walk to Thapae Gate was a little far but nothing to discourage you - unless you hate walking. Good restaurant not too far, laundry across the street. The beds are hard mattresses on the floor. Kinda local Thai style. But the rooms are clean along with the shared bathroom. Lots of open public spaces to look out over the town or read a book. Not traffic noise either! We tried to stay longer but they were booked.

Not welcoming”
We have a 7 months baby, and the first welcome was asking us if the baby crying in the night because the room are wooden room. Well it's a baby, our is not a crying baby, but anyway this does not make us feel confortable. If they have problems they could write not babies and pet allowed!! The room is small, but very clean, the matrass very confortble, but the room is completely dark. 2 windows looking inside the living room!!! In our floor for more than 10 room plus a dorm we had just 2 shared bathroom!! The price compare to the facilities was the most expensive we paid in Chiang Mai, and we are travelling in Chiang Mai many years
