Excellent”

Very central location in Haiphong. If you're luggage isn't too heavy, it is walkable from Ga Haiphong (the Haiphong railway station), about 5 to 7 minutes. Plenty of restaurants and comparatively simple outdoor eating and drinking establishments in the immediate area. Also walking distance to the Ben Binh (ferry terminal) - about 15 minutes - where the ferries for Cat Ba Island depart. The hotel doesn't pretend to be fancy, is a no-frills business traveller hotel. Choice of Asian/European style breakfasts. The room cleaning staff, while helpful and friendly, are seemingly unaware of how noisy they sometimes are. One day two of them were "chatting" while doing the rooms. One of them in a room at one end of the hall, the other in a room two doors down. They had the doors open so they could holler to each other. Mind you, the whole country has a much higher tolerance for noise than is the norm in Europe,North America and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. All in all, I deem the Bao Anh Hotel a very acceptable base from which to explore the city.

Clean and reasonably priced hotel”

This nice little hotel fit the budget. I was a little leery with a 1.5 star rating, but that is likely because they don't have many amenities (pool, fitness center, restaurant, etc.). For the price this was a nice and clean place to stay the night before catching the morning hydrofoil to Cat Ba City (5 minute taxi ride). Across the street from the Bao Anh hotel is a nice size grocery store for bottled water and snacks. One block down the street is a newly opened Pizza Hut which is a bonus if you have kids.

Good for a late check-in”

I was in middle of Hai Phong after a very long working day. suddenly I found that the hotel booking made by our admin staff had some problem and then, I found this Bao Anh hotel on Agoda few hundred meters away and making booking instantly because it was 9pm, quite late in Vietnam time. The hotel was good value for money, I can't really say anything about the facility because it wasn't my intention to staying here first. It's small but cozy. Everything you need for one night stay: Hot tube, Air conditioner, proper bed. Room equipment's are clearly aged but clean. They don't have any F&B service but you can try the pizza restaurant just opposite the site, and a small supermarket for some snacks, too. The price 380.000 VND for a night stay is normal price and acceptable

Calm and central location”

This hotel is very well located at only 10min from the railway station by foot and close to the city center, in a quiet street with small cafes and restaurants nearby. Good staff speaking english correctly. Price very correct.

Gracing Haiphong with a smile..”

For a good stay and a nice price, Bao Anh will always be my choice. I always enjoyed my stay in Haiphong with this hotel!

So noisy in the morning ”

The price is very cheap. The cleanness is normal . The room is small for a couples . Compare to the price , I think it is ok . Only one thing I don't like is very very noisy in the morning . In the morning , so many noise , the staffs talked so loud and they turned on the music when they cleaned the room next door our room . I can't sleep anymore and woke up . I will not come back . I will book an other big hotel . I can't stay in noisy place .

Gets the job done, friendly staff”

I stayed for one night. My room was furnished with a queen bed, fan, wardrobe, and television that I used to tune into local Vietnamese news! Overall, furnishings were modest and reflective of the price. It was just what I needed: a place to sleep and shower. Added bonus- the staff was very friendly!

Noisy at night ”

Not much of a help at the front desk. Bed is hard and gets really noisy at night. It's good if you want to save money. Location is okay but it's a busy road. I'm sure you can find better for the same price

clean room, far from restaurants”

We stay at hotel for 1 night waiting for a boat to Cat Ba. Port is near, only about 1 US for a taxi. Room is OK, bad breakfast, staf not very nice, room good for the money but thats all

nothing to do in Haiphong”

The check in was quick, the staff was ok. Room was clean. Accross the street is a market and Texas ban for good food. Julie's Bar is right next door to have a drink and wind down.

Avergage, simple hotel”

Clean room with small bathroom and simple breakfast. I arrived early so they were nice enough to lend me another room before transferring me to another room at night. Not much to write about except that for this price you can get more in Hanoi and especially HCMC

繁華街に近くて便利”

家族経営ホテルらしく子供がロビーの机で勉強していた。繁華街に近く道の反対にスーパーマーケットがあって便利である。近隣で大型ホテルの建設が始まっていて夜間も騒音があった。　 It seemed to be a family run hotel as the child was studying at the lobby desk. There is a supermarket opposite the road and the hotel is near the downtown area. Construction of a large hotel was started nearby, and there was noises at night as well.

Average and nothing special”

Decidedly average. Scruffy but relatively clean rooms and a very cheap price. The hotel tried to sell us expensive tickets to get to Cat Ba Island, so we went to a travel agent and saved a lot of money. Wouldn't stay there again.

Dont expect too much”

For that money, it was ok. But dont expect too much: there is no in-room safety box (even though advertized), the matrasses are hard as wood, TV didnt work, electricity had a failure, electricity works only if you are in the room (so the minibar doesnt get cool). For breakfast dont order the eggs and bread. They advertize motor bike rental, but the only motor bike they had, didnt work. Pro: sufficiently clean and very central (on the other side is a big supermarket, restaurants in walking distance).

Cheap but not fresh”

Good location, the room smelled a bit wierd and the furniture were very old. We only stayed one night, and that was enough. Very cheap price so we hadn't expected too much either!

Quality”

Convenient overnight stay before we took the Bus/Ferry to Cat Ba. Quite nice option if you fly in late to Hanoi and can't take one of the main routes of transfer to Ha Long Bay.

Okay for a night”

The hotel is located pretty conveniently for a stopover on the way to Cat Ba island, in our case. The rooms are basic with not-so comfortable beds. Bathroom is not very practical, and there is a chance of street noise at night. In general, our stay here was disappointing, really only worth it to get to the ferries early the next morning.

Fine for the area”

Not loads of options in the area - this place is fine for a few nights as central. Rooms okay although a little dated. Huge construction site right next door (will be there for some time) which seems to work 24/7 so noisy.
