Our stay overall exceeded our expectations. Casper was unfortunately unwell so couldn't check us in in-person, however he stayed in touch and was a very helpful and friendly host. The house and our room was absolutely beautiful, clean & spacious. So much thought went into the breakfast by Agnus the lovely housekeeper. Our breakfast was even brought up to us one day as there was an event on downstairs. The food was so tasty and the options were fantastic. We would 100% stay again!

From the moment my friend and I entered Beach Lodge, we were made to feel at home”

The breakfast was easily one of the best I have experienced at b&b stays - beautifully presented, a wide selection of fresh fruit and cereals, yoghurts, fruit juice and a menu that was left in our rooms when we checked in, where we could pre-select our preferred breakfast choice the night before, as well as what time we anticipated wanting breakfast (which included porridge, omelettes, "full English breakfast" as well). We had no sooner walked in to the dining room, when we were attended to, and asked if we would like tea or coffee and then we were left alone. The dining room had recently been redecorated and had an awesome skylight which really opened up the room.
I really cannot think of anything I didn't like!!

This is the best guesthouse I have ever stayed in”

Perfect location near the sea. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, superb bathroom. There was amazing attention to detail to ensure guests had everything they needed. The room and house were immaculately clean. I was delighted that the extensive breakfast menu could be provided gluten free and it was delicious. I particulally enjoyed the fresh fruit platter put on my table. Casper was so friendly and helpful.

simply everything was wonderful! We stayed in the deluxe double room with sea view and it was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The shower was a dream and we had a lovely big bed. There was plenty of water, coffee, milk and even cake on arrival and the next day. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options available and very fresh ingredients. We would love to stay again.

So good they should have named it twice!”

Room was lovely, comfortable and exceptionally clean. Breakfast beat expectations and we both particularly loved the fact fresh milk was provided in glass bottles. We dislike the little plastic pots!! We love walking which is one of the reasons we chose this guest house outside the city centre. Southbourne also has some fab restaurants covering every taste.
Not so much "didn't like", but more "how am I going to do.this?" when it came to parking. There are trees on the verge so it can be a tad awkward parking, but it's no one's fault. Plenty of space otherwise.

This place was absolutely spot on. The rooms were quiet, modern, large and clean. The full English and vegetarian breakfast served with fresh coffee or tea. More tea and coffee was offered every morning. The hosts were very pleasant and informative.

Cute, comfortable and charming”

I just had the most amazing 4 night stay at Beach Lodge, and totally recommend it to anyone. It's a lovely, spotlessly clean B&B with lovely bright white decor and the room had nice styling and the bed was really comfortable. What really makes the stay though is the very warm and genuine welcome from Casper, the owner. He really went out of his way to make my stay good - every day he made me a different VEGAN cake or biscuits, and he always made sure the breakfast menu was adapted to plant-based for me in an interesting way. Lovely pancakes too! As a solo traveller I also found the breakfast room a nice social place to chat to the other guests. A lot are repeat guests, which tells you something! The location is great - just a minute's walk from the promenade and a ramp/ steps down to the beach. In the other direction, 5 mins walk to the small high street with lots of dining options. Stay here - you won't regret it!

The property is a gorgeous huge period house, lovely light decor and finished nicely. The house has a homey feel and was very clean and comfortable. The beds were really comfy, the linens spotless and soft and the pillows were large and comfortable. Bathroom facilities, were bright clean and well maintained. It was me and my friend of many years staying together for a girls holiday of a few days. We had a small twin room in the eaves, prior to arriving we were worried about the heat this high in the roof but it was comfortable and well insulated even though it was 26-28 some of the days we were there. The best bit was the hosts, they were very welcoming and had great local recommendations. We had our rooms refreshed everyday and we were even left homemade cake every day which was such a lovely gesture, and so welcome after the beach!

Breakfast is fantastic here with items like sausages being sourced from a local butcher that are made on the premises. There were cakes in our room each day that were made on site fresh each day. It's 50mtrs to the end of the road and you are on the cliff overlooking the beach, there is a path 100mtrs away that goes down to the beach. Everything is very clean, fresh bottled water is available 24/7 to use for making tea or drinking rather than using tap water, also fresh milk in a fridge on the landing that you can use. We love staying here as it's much quieter than staying in Bournemouth but it's easy to get there or you can walk along the beach towards Christchurch instead.

Beach Lodge exceeded my expectations. The house is absolutely lovely, nice decoration, with some vintage furniture. Very clean, the single bedroom I stayed was very cute and comfy I felt like home. Decoration was quite relaxing, in blue/turquoise colours. I was welcomed with a brownie in my room. Breakfast was ordered the night before and was absolutely delicious. (I had poche eggs with salmon, avocado and nuts) They also have oat milk, yogurt, fruits, toasts, coffee, teas and cereals. Casper (host) was always able to help, talk and give some tips about the beach. I could store my bag for few hours after the check in, no extra charges. I highly recommend if you want a quiet and intimist place to rest :) Was a lovely staying!

Exquisite- home from home- cannot recommend highly enough!”

Breakfast was exceptional- there was lots of choice and everything was cooked to perfection. The hotel is beautiful and the extension is just breath taking . The host Casper is one of the nicest people we have ever met. A very nice touch is that every afternoon we were treated to some delicious home cake- this in addition to the very nice tea and coffee facilities already provided in the room.

Wonderfully warm welcome from the host (Casper), very comfortable B&B with beautiful big room - bigger than the pictures! Everything was perfectly clean, comfortable bed, great shower, loved the decor. The vegan breakfast was delicious and we especially appreciated the surprise chocolate walnut brownies and snickerdoodles waiting for us when we got back from our long daily cycles. Casper was genuinely lovely and even let us store our bicycles safely in his shed overnight. We really enjoyed our stay and felt so relaxed! The location is also perfect, so close to the beach. We definitely plan to come back again soon :)

This is a fantastic location, it's about 100mtrs to the path that goes down to the beach. We have stayed in Bournemouth before but much preferred staying here as it's so close the beach, we parked in front of the hotel and there weren't crowds of people about. It's about an hours walk to Hengistbury Head and the same to Bournemouth pier. The hotel itself is an older building with character but the rooms are very modern, tastefully done and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, very tasty. As soon as my wife saw the chocolate covered strawberries and truffles Casper had left out in the room upon our arrival then she was sold on it.

Casper was a great host, went the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable and welcomed. Came home from our days out to lovely clean rooms and delicious little home baked treats. The breakfast options were the best thing about our stay, so unexpected to have that much choice at a B&B and at such great quality. Could easily pay £10 for a similar breakfast at a restaurant. The location could not have been better, so close to the beach but on a lovely sheltered road with very little traffic

Excellent location and Casper was the perfect host. Very clean and well decorated room and dining area. Quality breakfast with fabulous ingredients with lovely cake treats each evening in our room. Would not hesitate to stay here every time we are in the area. Understandable why this is number 1 in the Bournemouth area. Thanks for a great break.
