Nice Stay”

Excellent service and nice location with walks in the woods.

Tired and shabby”

Location was a bit out of the way, and front of house was impressive and grand. However, the bedrooms and corridors were shabby and old fashioned - it is Victorian of course. The bedroom was comfortable but the bathroom was freezing. The bathrooms need to be gutted and totally replaced. The breakfast buffet after 40 mins displayed dried out scrambled eggs, congealed baked beans, and tough as leather bacon. The coffee had been made but then the machine switched off and the pot of coffee was cold. To his credit, the manager immediately resolved the issue.

Traditional style hotel ”

All staff helpful and friendly, great location, plenty of parking, good breakfast, room and bathroom sparkling clean. Traditional style hotel in peaceful surroundings.

Acceptable”

Old shabby hotel, damp rooms, old bathroom that struggles to do the job. Food vile & I mean vile. Best Western should be ashamed of what they charge for this hole of a hotel

Friendly helpful staff especially Tanya. Rooms are a little data but the hotel is full of character. Grounds are beautiful and well kept. Excellent service

Excellent”

This Hotel was ideal as we were there prior to my husband going for tests in hospital.Staff only too happy to provide the limited diet he was allowed and for him to stay undisturbed in our room for the two days he was on the medication needed prior to the tests.The Hotel may be in a bit of a time warp but Simon and his Staff more than made up for the lack of glitz and glamour.

Nice location poorly run”

We ordered a cot for our 10month old baby which would tell any person at the hotel we are travelling with a small child. So they put us in a room the furthest away. With no lifts we had to transport our baggae plus baby and carrier up two flights of stairs and along 4corridoors. This is unacceptable. The front desk staff were rude and not inviting and offered no help with our luggage. We had travelled from Thailand to go to a wedding plus visit family and friends so we had a large amount of luggage

Lovely location”

Room small. Didnt try bar meals,instead opted forrestaurant. This was ratherexpensive and very disappointing.The steaks were very thin and not cooked medium rare as requested. Staff were apologetic and offered a reduction in bill. Still expensive for a disappointing meal.

Nice hotel in rustic setting in Nottingham city”

spent two days here over xmas. inexpensive hotel, historic building, beautiful setting in a forest yet 10 mins drive from downtown nottingham. staff are friendly. may have to wait up to 10 mins for hot water to come online. highly recommended.
