Great Location but can be rowdy”
The hotel was very acceptable. There is a restaurant on level 2 which is a bit hidden, but for 5 pounds had an excellent buffet. The rooms were clean and tidy, but internet beyond second floor is non-existent. You get a signal, but not strong enough to connect. For that you need to be in the (slightly chilly) lobby. Our television did not work, but it did not bother me enough to mention as I had a total of 5 concious minutes in the room. Too much to do outside! Biggest drawback is the hotel seems to cater to pre-wedding parties such as bachelor and bachelorette parties. As such, it was boisterous from about 6:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday night. I even found someone passed out in a hallway (although when I mentioned it to security they were aghast and advised they would address the issue immediately). I would definately stay again, despite the factors mentioned above. Lots of nice pubs, etc. in the area and the main City Center is only a brisk 5 minute walk.

A good place to be at the end of the day”
They do cater for everything and the hotel is definitely worth considering when booking yourself a room etc in Nottingham. I went through a third party to book my room and saved quite a bit. Good luck!

Great location”
The hotel is well situated for easy walking access to the city centre and sites like the Castle. As the hotel does not have car parking facilities it has an arrangement with the NCP Car Park directly opposite for a cheaper 24 hour parking rate. The room was smallish but adequate for a short stay. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided, plus TV, fridge and a neat, clean bathroom. Staff were helpful and friendly and provided us with fan on request as our room was very hot on arrival and there is no a/c in the hotel.

Basic but convenient”
The Britannia is a good budget hotel and fine to stay at for a couple of nights. The location is convenient for the centre and getting to the main areas of Nottingham. The rooms are very basic and could have been cleaner and more comfortable. They also need modernisation and a lick of paint. We had to change rooms as the key to the first room didn't work. The lounge bar was spacious with reasonable prices. Breakfast was good and all you can eat. We had an issue with whether breakfast was included with our room but the staff eventually sorted it out. The NCP car park across the street is convenient and the hotel gives a discount when you check out. Overall, not a bad hotel, but it is probably worth paying a bit extra to stay somewhere nicer with better rooms.

Tidy hotel, great location to the city”
The hotel was clean and tidy, really close to the city centre. the room was big easily fit a family of 4. down side we had an office block to the side of us and when looking out of the window you could see them all working and they could see you. we only had breakfast, that was a buffee style. so you could fill your self up ready for the big shop.

Decent hotel in the Centre of the City”
The Britannia in Nottingham was clean, fairly quiet, locally situated and decent value for money. If you are travelling to Nottingham and need a central hotel at a decent price with no thrills then the Britannia will meet your requirements.

good hotel and very good value for money”
It is a very good value for money hotel. The rooms were clean, it is well located in the city center. The staff were decent and welcoming. The only problem is that there is no free parking around the hotel area. You will have to park in a multistorey parking site just next door to the hotel and it costs you around 10 GBP per night after the discount given by the hotel.

rooms small, but great. Clean. friendly staff”
Slight confusion at reception. But was eventually sorted very satisfactory. Rooms were small, but space not needed in a city centre hotel. The cleaning staff were friendly and efficient.

Expected better”
Hotel is ideally located for the centre of Nottingham. However Wifi is only available in public areas, one of which was quite cold, due to opening in to the multi-story carpark. With the hotel being so near to the centre, it seemed to cater for those who were after a night out, or weekend away. This led to the hotel being quite noisy and busy during the weekends. The heating system seemed to have a will of its own, pumping out hot air as and when it felt like it, regardless of what I changed the thermostat to. The heated towel rail in the bathroom did not work. Though they have two lifts, one was out of action for the entire length of my stay (14 nights) and the other was very slow. On check in I was not told about breakfast or wifi, I had to specifically ask. My room key needed recoding 4 times during my 14 night stay, even though I had made sure to keep it away from my mobile. Finally on a positive note, the shower was very powerful and there was plenty of hot water. Also it was nice to see that they accepted guests with small pets, as not many big hotels seem willing.

Great staff allround, hotel tired in places”
the rooms are reasonably generous for a 3 star budget hotel, all facilities in room working, showers hot and powerful, crappy old telly/remote though, just 7/8 channels available. overall a decent place to stay, 2 minute walk to the city centre.

Comfortable rooms in a great location”
Had booked two single rooms but they had only reserved one. Problem was sorted with minimal inconvenience and both rooms were upgraded to doubles. The decor was a bit dated and tatty in places but the rooms were relatively clean and comfortable. The biggest selling point is location, it took approximately 1 minute to get to main square in the city centre.

Friendly staff but in dire need of investment”
We booked into here for a quick over-night stay in Nottingham on route further south, so weren't after anything fancy. All I can say is that my experience of all Brittania hotels is that they have a policy of next to no investment in their properties. Everything was old, some of the furniture looked like it could have been found on a skip. Carpets/hallways generally very dated. I've found this to also be the case at Brittania Stockport, so it's obviously company policy to not invest in their properties. Staff and location very good, parking £10/day on car park opposite. We paid for this room which isn't too bad for city centre.

Great location with excellent views”
Overall our stay was very good. With a few changes this hotel could be one of the best in Nottingham. Some of the furniture needs updating in the restaurant and the rooms which would also benefit from a flat screen TV. Although staff on reception were friendly enough i felt that there was room for improvement. When we checked in i was handed the key and given the room number. It would have been nice to have been informed about the breakfast times and given basic directions to the room. This does not seem a lot but it is standard procedure in most hotels and makes a difference. Everything else was excellent. Good size room with extras. e.g. Hairdryer, iron etc.

Dated but exceptionally clean”
Was worried as read bad reviews after booking but reception staff friendly on check in and room tired and dated but exceptionally clean. Room 912 lovely view over the city. Only downside was 1 lift working and took forever.

Great Central Location”
Brilliamt location great value for money due to time issues did not try the breakfast but paying on arrival for this is cheaper would recommend and would stay again. Worked out even with overnight parking in Broadmarsh at £4.50 cheaper than staying further out of city and with a huge choice of places to eat a must.

Good base for a night out in Nottingham”
This hotel is very convenient for the centre of the City. It is to be fair getting a bit tired and the public areas are starting to look shabby. The room we had was good size. The bed was comfortable. It is good value as long as you are not paying the full rate.
