Cheap but old”

The price was cheap; however, the facilities were really poor. The hotel was quite old. Breakfast was said to be offered but the choices were really poor. Only instant noodles or fried eggs were offered. So we decided to go out for breakfast.

Nice”

Staff let us stay in our room until we got the night train which was so kind of them. Place was nice. Only a few spoke english well (day staff) but we could communicate well enough with the others - our fault for not knowing more Vietnamese. Pro tip - the wifi doesn't have a password, you can just connect.

Bed was comfortable, sheets were nice. Towels changed daily. Some of the staff don't really speak english but hasn't been an issue for us (the day staff speak excellent english). We extended our stay as we liked the place (and because i got food poisoning from a near by restaurant). Place has a lift. Ask for a room on the road side if possible as a couple of trains run through the night (though the night ones are quieter than the day ones). As is all cheap places in Vietnam there is a bit of mildew in the room, but it doesnt smell musty at all.

It is a budget hotel so don't expect too much. At first a got a room, which was not clean(ed) and the sink was leaking. After 5 minutes there was knocked on the door to change room (this was not great right one). The other room was bigger and cleaner, not really clean. And also the sink was leaking. I told the man about the sink. He spoke a few words English. If you are unlucky he is not there, his wife does not speak a single word of English. The man told me to let her call him if I had a question. Unfortunately I did not manage to do so (I don't speak Vietnamese and my body language was not good enough). The actual managers are the sun and daughter, who speak English well, but I have seen them not often in my presence. The menu for breakfast is limited, but the big baguette with egg was fabulous. The hotel is further from the centre then I had expected, because it is on the other side of the railway, about ten minutes walk.

Disappointing stay in Canh Dieu”

I stayed two nights in this hotel and I m really disappointed. The staff was not very welcoming (except one girl who was very kind), Sheets were not so clean, there was no hot water for shower, tv was not working... The only things I want in an hotel is a clean bed and a hot shower, that s all for me. But this time, the room didn't satisfied me so I would not recommend this hotel except if you just need A/C and a bed to sleep.

Nice stay in Ninh Binh”

The structure is the same as other 2 stars cheap hotels in Vietnam; always clean and in a good position into Ninh Binh city. the guests are very frinedly and always ready to help you when you need.

Not up to par”

Our room was on the 5th floor which we accessed through the stairs because the elevator reaked of mildew. Above the door in out room (the hallway door), there should have been a window or something but it was open space aside from a wooden decoration wich means it was open season for mosqiuitos. My friend got devoured and reacted badly to the bites. The wall paper was peeling off the walls. We are not talking about small pieces: a 3x3 area next to my bed and I could hear it continue to becoming unglued. We checked out after one night but if course we were charged for both nights. The food was mediocre at best but the hotel is isolated and on Tuesdays, everything around is closed. I had laundry done and it came back with stains on one tshirt, socks weren't dry and a 4 year old would do a much better folding job: everything was wrinkled to death.

Dirty & unhygienic room ”

The staff at the reception was very friendly and spoke english. Unfortunately the room wasnt cleaned up properly, the bed was full with hairs under the blanket and the bathroom full of mould fungus on the ceiling and walls - just disgusting. At night you heard also sound in the wall from mice or rats. Horrible night.
