Everything. Location is perfect, barely a 10 min walk to Whitby harbour. The owners, Ted & Sandra were wonderful, so kind and helpful and welcoming. (Not forgetting Milly the dog who was just gorgeous). The room was so lovely. So many tiny details added to the overall Nautical theme, the view is spectacular, the facilities spot on - including a fridge as well as wine glasses, fresh milk etc, every added comfort was thought of. Excellent local info as well. The bed was really comfy and the shower was great. It was a birthday trip, and it was a pleasure to wake up there, with the sound of seagulls and the steam train going past as we got ready to go out. Breakfast was also delicious. Can’t wait to book again, we absolutely can’t recommend here enough.

Gem of a property, Ted and Sandra were a lovely couple, very pleasant, lovely to chat to and gave us lots of tips on places to go in Whitby. The B & B is in a Fantastic location overlooking the harbour, the bedroom was spacious, very clean and there was lots of extras in the room which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was lovely and set you up for the day, nothing was to much trouble for Ted and Sandra and Millie the dog was gorgeous. Will definitely stay here again had a fantastic two night stay in Whitby.

Very friendly and helpful hosts Ted and Sandra. Location was ideal and only a short walk from the town centre and harbour. Room had exceptional views of harbour and Abbey and catered for every need, was clean and quirky(watch your head on the beams)Breakfast was excellent with good selection of foods and catered for all needs. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Captains Cabin 👍🏼

A lot of stairs but not a problem

Location fantastic, enough out of the way to avoid noise; but close enough to walk to the centre. Beautiful views, quiet, free parking. Excellent hosts, very kind and personable; it’s a home as apposed to a commercial business. Very relaxing definitely a feel of having own space.

There is nothing we didn’t like, however some may feel the stairs a challenge

We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ted and Sandra. There are a lot of stairs, but this is very clear on the description, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into! However, it did have the advantage of a lovely view of the Abbey from the window whilst having a drink in the room! The breakfast was brilliant and we had a great time chatting to Ted and Sandra and watching the goings on outside. All in all, a fantastic stay, which I would love to repeat.

The bed was a little too firm for me, but that is very much personal taste!

Great location with fantastic views of the abbey. Sandra and Ted are wonderful hosts and Captains Cabin felt like a home from home. Everything in the room that you need and great to have a fridge. Very quiet area and no traffic noise. Breakfast was lovely and so nice to chat to Sandra and Ted who have such a wealth of knowledge about the area. Parking right outside also a bonus . Plenty of restaurants and bars just round the corner. We will definitely stay again next time we visit the area.

Wonderful hosts, clean, comfortable. Delicious breakfast with views over the harbour. Milly the lab was adorable. Perfectly situated for all Whitby has to offer. Highly recommend and will 100% return.

it’s a lovely bed and breakfast. just the one room so very personal service. Sandra and Ted were great hosts and made us so welcome. we will certainly be back. attic room with fabulous views of the abbey and marina.

it wasn’t a problem for us. but there are a lot of steps up to the property and the bedroom is in the attic. it wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with poor mobility.

Absolutley brilliant stay. On site parking. Perfect location close to town. Everything we could possibly need was in the room. Lovely views of the the river. Ted, Sandra and Milly were the perfect hosts nothing was to much trouble. They even left a bottle of wine in the fridge for my partners birthday. Would definatly stay here again.

Excellent breakfast, enormous choice to suit all tastes and diets. Super room, spotless, everything worked well, brilliant details to make our stay comfortable. Excellent caring hosts. We could not have chosen better.

Breakfast was amazing and the location was just what we wanted-car parking right outside so we were able to leave the car and walk everywhere for 3 days. Hosts were very helpful, friendly and gave us some great ideas of where to go while in the area.

The breakfast was exceptional and the hosts were amazing! It was my birthday and I even received a gift from them, totally unexpected and such a great few days. Sandra & Ted excellent hosts along with their dog Millie. Full of knowledge both In and outside Whitby. Lots of steps and stairs but if you are able the view from the quirky bedroom is fantastic.
