I booked though agoda for 1 night but Im stay 2 nights more in Cat ba hostel , on next day they have big party dinner for all guest stayed in hostel so nice dinner what i has it is for free Im really enjoy with them we dink over night waiting for for new year watched TIVi togethor at night time the fireworks room very clean and I think they just make many window for all room it is not sea view but they have mountain view for my room which I has stayed , staff in hostel alway want to help you also I have booked 1 day trip to Ha long bay from this hostel they give me price abit cheaper than other one I has meet them on boat , tour it is ok but bot supper you can see nice view of Lan ha bay and ha long bay location of hostel abit far from the pier about 300m but it is ok for me for walk , it very quiet , I would recommed toother one come to Cat ba island for stay in ths hostel because price and clean thanks for staff in hostel for party in new year

when I arrived hostel they have only 1 room left they give me key and take me to the room Im so amazing with the room it is not single room that is twin room but they said it is ok for you stay in this room , after they invited me for dinner at night time that is great food and drink I has thanks so much . room very clean with hot water it is normal but that all you need for traveler , location abit far from pier but you have very friendy staff , price in Cat ba much cheaper than Ha noi what I has paid I will tell my friend stay here they go to visiting Cat ba island for stay here

Easy to find, friendly staff, not pushy”
We did not realize how easy to would be to find a hotel on Cat Ba Island so we booked Cat Ba Hostel. We enjoyed are stay, it is a bit of a walk up a hill but makes for a quite location. The staff is nice and not pushy with kayaking trips or trips to the National Park. We did not book with them and it was not an issue. The room was clean and the shower was hot what more could you want for this price. Thank you Cat Ba Hostel.

I has stayed 1 night in Catbahostel , the staff very friend and help full during I stay in Hotel , the room very clean , many hotel in Cat ba island but Catbahostel is cheapest , location very quiet and not noise area I has did the tour from the hotel with Halong bay 1 day trip it is exelent , I would recomment this hotel for other one who going to Cat ba island I will back to cat ba island again I will stay in This hotel again

Good value, nice friendly staff”
Very good value hostel with good sized comfortable rooms. It was cold while we were there and pretty much a ghost town due to Tet, but the staff were very helpful and even had a party with losts of free drinks on Tet Eve. I would stop there again, but ensure to go to Cat Ba during the good weather season as it gets very cold out of season. Also, avoid Tet in general in vietnam, as it throws off all travel plans. We were stuck on the island longer than we wanted, and we weren't the only ones.

Great service and nice location”
Our stay in Catba Hostel was initial for 2 nights but we extended it for one more because of the beauty of the island. The hostel have new management, so it just finish the renewing process and have good conditions and cleanness in general. Our room was big and clean with cable TV, AC, fan, free shampoo and soap, and cleaned every day with new towels. Laundry service was satisfactory and fast, same day delivery. Is located 3 minutes walking for the main street with lots of restaurants and pubs and 5/10 minutes to the beach. The manager is a dynamic person that is always ready to help you. He found to us a great boat tour around Ha Long Bay, with a price many time cheaper than the ones asked in Hanoi for similar tours. We even had a free bottle of water and coffee in the last day due to our earlier check out. We do recommend this hostel.

"Lovely hostel and service with a smile" ”
Room very clean and nice , with very cheap price you can get a private room with everything private ( bath room , hot shower , air codion also fan in room available , staff very friendy and help full , breakfast include with this price , I dont want to say anything else but it is the best hosel for me in Viet nam , I take I day tour from cat ba hostel to Lan ha bay and Ha long bay , also I rent moto bike from this hostel

Really lovely staff, comfy spacious room”
We had such a great stay at the Catba Hostel that we ended up extending it for 2 more nights. The owner and his staff were so friendly and helpful right from the moment we arrived. We were really suprised that our room was so spacious and comfy, as we had only paid a very little amount for it. The Catba Hostel runs various tours and trips, but the staff never push you to try and get you to buy one. We did however join the Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay one day tour, which we really enjoyed, you travel all over the bays and can kayak, swim and visit caves too. We tried to see as much of the island as we could during our five day stay, and the staff were really helpful with directions and advice, aswell as recommendations for different restaurants too. If we go back to Catba Island, we will definitely stay here again.

Nive hotel zith very kind staff”
You will need to walk 5 to 140 minutes to reach this hotel from the main boat station in Cat Ba, but the walk worth it. This hotel is a quiet and clean place, with simple rooms. The staff can help you to organize your trips on the island and rent motorcycles for a cheap price.\ You can order a very good local seafood meal for 100,000dongs and it really worth it. The main defaults of this hotel is that you need to climb a hard road to get there and that all facilities are not properly working in the rooms (bathrooms in two different rooms which have shared air space so that you can hear what your neighboor says from the other bathroom - air is damp if you have a room with no window).

Good place and good price”
After few days in Hanoi, we was not really happy with the differents hotels. But this one on cat ba island is not expensiv and we decide to go there. The hotel is 5 mn walking from the front and "busy" place of cat ba or 1mn from "red light" but it really quiet and cool because we discover that on the last night ! It was perfect for me to find a quiet place and not much touristic. My son was sick and we really happy that the owner help us a lot for free to buy medecin, give sirup and propose his help all the time. Staff is very friendly and try to speak with you. During our stay, we ask him to find a friend of him who can propose us a trip with boat around but not like a touristic tour. We wonder to discover with a local fischer, many little beach close to halong bay and that was incredible moment !!!! It was like in the movie "the beach" !!! In the street there is a very good restaurant but only for Viet. The menu is Viet and all is Viet. The first time we go there, the people thinking we make a mistake. But it was so good food that we go there 3 times ! To finish about this hotel, I recommand it because the owner is cool and always try to help people who are nice with him. Room are good and clean ok.

What a great place! Just up the hill from all the bars, yet close enough to be in the mix if you want. The staff are absolutely wonderful and really good people. I would make this my regular place at Cat Ba from here on out!

Nice comfortable stay”
We stayed here for two days, and the staff helped us organize all trips in CatBa and around the island. They helped us rent a motorbike and gave us a map and suggestions on what to see. The room was very basic, but was comfy for a short stay. Breakfast was very nice too, but not included in room price. It is definitely a good value.

Nice stay at this small family run hotel. Rooms are clean an big enough, with TV, AC and bathrooms. We rented motorbikes and had a lot of fun exploring the beautiful countryside of Cat Ba Island. Don't miss to visit the zoo!

stayed for 2 nights. rooms were pretty good. definitely value for money and the owner was so nice to wait for us to arrive even tho we were very late, even putting his dinner aside to welcome us. the balcony was a nice touch for abit of fresh air even if it just faces the opposite building. best thing was the in-house food and the selection available on the menu, which offered the same foods as restaurants along the main street but at a much cheaper price. dont let the price fool you tho, the food is great. we will prolly not return to catba due to it being too touristy but if we do we'll definitely stay here again.

Good location in cat ba, easy motorbike rentals and tour booking! The staff was helpful and the room was great. Bathroom is a little dirty but I have seen much worse in SE Asia. Thanks for a great stay!

alright stay for price”
Not too bad, stayed in worse places. shower head was broken so you had to hold it. floors in room needed to be swept, after having a shower your feet would get dirty from the floor. had to wipe my feet before I got into bed other my bed would het dirty. good location right in cat ba town

The hostel was very nice, they have good prices for the activitys around catba and bus ticket, but if you will book somewhere else you’ll get bad attitude! But for that price the room was great!

Convenient and pleasant hotel”
I found this to be a very satisfactory place to stay. I had a map which helped because it can be confused with Cat Ba Hotel, a different place, though not really very far away. For a short stay when all you really want is a bed and somewhere to leave your stuff, this is excellent.
