Exceptional”

We showed up here after one night in a homestay in a more remote part of the island. We made immediate use of the rooftop pool and took pictures of the sunset. Apparently this was a quiet time and the place felt a little empty. But we could easily walk to cafes, restaurants and beaches, and get a quick pick-up to our day cruise. Everything here was just what we wanted, very much worth paying about $20 more than our previous accomodation.

Smoke smell, but overall nice”

We stayed here for two nights. At check-in the staff said we had to pay extra for two people even though we booked a double room? It was not much, but still not ideal. Not only that, but breakfast would not be included in this room. Again, not a big deal, but not advertised, either. Then the second night I got almost no sleep as cigarette smoke poured into our room through the aircon. Luckily, neither myself nor my partner have asthma, because it was horrible. We tried turning off and opening the window, but it was horrible. It was as though someone was chain smoking in our room all night. I went downstairs around 1:00am to try and ask the staff about it, or request a new room or even a fan, but the front desk was completely empty with no one around. I got sick the next day with sore throat and horrible congestion. We did enjoy a cocktail at the sky bar/pool during sunset which was nice, and you can't beat the view/location, but the smoke issue was enough to make me not want to return.
