One of the nicest hotels in Chang Mai set in beautiful gardens and only a relatively short walk from the old town and the river. All the staff were friendly, well trained and eager to help with information about Chang Mai, sightseeing etc. Well worth the extra to upgrade to an executive floor with use of the lounge. Free wifi in hotel a real plus but no smoking rooms that reek of cigarettes a real minus. Fantastic spa.

This is a small boutique resort set on the side of the Ping river which provides a very calm and scenic outlook to the hotel. It is well situated in that it is walking distance (or short tuk tuk ride) to the night market and many good eating places. The hotel is set around a swimming pool, which although not huge is long enough and deep enough for some decent lap swimming, but not so suitable for children. The rooms are very in keeping with a traditional Thai style with wooden furniture and floors and contain most of the appointments you would expect in a 5-star accommodation. The strengths of the resort are that it never seems busy in spite of having many guests, it is very quiet and relaxing. I really appreciated the calm atmosphere, sitting on the terrace overlooking the river enjoying breakfast was one of the best parts of the day. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights with two other friends. We had two rooms side by side looking into the garden. It was 10-15 min taxi ride from the airport. Hired a cab from the "taxi meter" counter for 150 baht, flat rate. We arrived in the evening, the lighting definitely set a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere. Love it already! I like boutique hotel rather than big chains because you don't need to bump into (a lot of) other travelers at the lobby. Staff were nice and friendly. The welcome drink tastes really good! The staff walked us to the room and showed us where to have breakfast. The room was clean, nicely scented with essential oils and quite spacious. It was quiet and I slept no problem at night. Not a fancy breakfast buffet, but you can choose patio (by the river) or indoor seating. "Egg frying pan" was very tasty and freshly prepared by the chef at the omelette station. Transportation to other parts of the city was easy by Tuk Tuk (80-100 baht to night market, negotiate price!) and/or "Red Car" (you may share ride with other locals, 20 baht per person to night market and 30 baht per person to nimmanhemin road). Red Car turns out to be cheap for our group of 3. Getting a Tuk Tuk or Red Car in the daytime and early evening was not a problem. But since the hotel was not on a busy street, we waited for a good while for a ride when we headed out at 11pm one night. There is a spa at the hotel, but we didn't use it. There is a so-called pool by the lawn, but you can barely swim because the water depth was from ankle-depth to 1.2m only. Overall, it was a 5-star experience and I will return for sure! we stayed for 3 nights at the ping nakar for my husbands 30th. upon arrival we were welcomed and shown around the grounds before going to our room. the decoration and finish of the entire hotel is done to a high standard. our room had its own private balcony and both bathtub and shower room. the furnishings where simple and understated and beuatifuly done. there is an option for the pillow menu if you have a need for a special pillow, however we found ours to be the best comfort. we also booked into the spa for a couple of treatments, it was offering a 15%discount to hotel guest and upon hearing that is was my husbands birthday gave another 15% discount! we can not recommend the spa enough as the staff where extremely proffesional and good at what they do, so good i booked in again for some reflexology. my husband massage was also extremely good as he suffers from back problems and the treatment really helped. the hotel staff also organised for a special thai desert for his birthday. all the staff were very friendly and happy to accommadate any need, helping with some printing we needed to posting mail for us. its the little things that counted such as coming back to ur room in the evenings to have had the bed turned down, flowers on the pillows, slippers and water put by the bed and the curtains drawn and lighting set. there was even a mosquito repellent put in, and if out on the terrace in the evening repellent wipes are provided. we can not reccomend the hotel and spa enough and will definately return.

we stayed at 'the park' (same compnay) 3 months earlier, and we changed our reservaton to the 'empress' for a few dollars more, for this stay. we were not disappointed - excellent service and great room. severe flooding in chiang mai a day after we arrived caused change of plans for sightseeing + longer time in hotel. the staff clearly were aware of guest frustrations being unable to leave the hotel for over 2 days, and then having to be loaded onto the tray of an earthmoving truck, via ladder, to get to dry ground. it was memorable all the same - and some great photos !!

This hotel was by far the best of all. The staff are extremely friendly, the room was large and beautifully decorated view a great view of some trees. There is a lady by the front desk who works for a tour company - she is outstanding. She will show you the most amount of options for you to enjoy your trip - even without booking a tour. we rented a motorcycle from her to ride to Doi Inthanon - Thailand's highest point in the Himalayan mountains. It was a 2 hour ride to get there but was totally worth it. You're immersed in a jungle so thick and full of life. We new the national park had other things to enjoy but did not research them but as we climbed to the top of the mountain, i saw an exit for a waterfall to the right and made the turn. I was blown away. I've never been up close to a waterfall of this size and it was a complete surprise. We purchased the breakfast tickets with the rooms and ate breakfast there every morning. There was a good variety of items and the chef told me i could also order some scrambled eggs or an omelette as well. Apple and orange juice as well as water and milk. Best hotel of my trip.

The leaf serviced apartment is great value for money if you are travelling on a budget. The owner is very helpful and provides the best service. They have bike hire, laundry facilities, pantry, and I was surprised that a light breakfast was provided and the mini bar in the room was for free. You can use Grab to go to the old city and night bazzar. The host also arranged transport for us for a day at a very reasonable cost. He left gifts for my children and a note for us since he was not available in person during check out. The family room was big enough for my family of 5. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We had only booked for 2 nights because there is no pool, and in summer Chiang Mai temperatures go up 39 degrees. A pool certainly would have been icing on the cake!

This is a small hotel with about a dozen suites. I got a good deal from Agoda so was really happy when I arrived and discovered I had a Jacuzzi. The rooms are a little dim and plagued with mosquitoes but you are warned about that. The staff gave me a little repellent plug in which worked and I did not get bitten. I appreciated their warning. Breakfast is served by the pool. Plenty of choice. They don't do food during the day but do not object to you getting your own and sitting by the pool and eating it, which is what I did. Staff were really lovely and politely quietened down several groups of Mainland Chinese tourists who, on arrival, took to yelling to each other as they checked in. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel to couples or someone on their own looking for some peace. As a side note it is next door to an excellent spa (Nakara) and less than five minutes walk Anantara which is a posh hotel with a great restaurant for more pricey cocktails and food. Also the market is just as close. Definitely worth the money.

A compact, pleasant 2 bed/2 bath apartment in a very convenient location within walking distance on the night market. The corridors echo somewhat and doors are noisy but we would happily stay there again and recommend it with only minor reservations. Good little coffee shop downstairs as well.

We could not get the room what we booked from Agoda becoz of some tech prob with agoda. But Agoda apologises & also the host "Bee" made us hapoy again. She was very friendly & we booked great tour to Doi Suthep with her. Very comfortable beda. Even the building seems old this is a kind of place you want to be in. Many shops near in area. 7 Eleven, Massages & even Uber. Very recommended

I absolutely loved this place! Great value for the money. Huge room, nice staff, quiet location, nice pool, fast wifi and very clean. Stayed 3 nights before going to Pai then booked another 5 nights upon returning. About a 10 minute walk from Anusarn night market and 10 minute tuk-tuk ride from the old city. Good,cheap,simple breakfast from the cafe attached to the hotel. If I had to pick a downside it would be the lack of restaurants/convenience stores in the area....but if you don’t mind walking for 10 minutes then it’s not a problem. This is my 5th time in Chiangmai and I will definitely book here next time I’m back! I 100% recommend this place!

I was travelling in a group of 3 and this was our first time at the Park Hotel. We booked a deluxe room and the room was more spacious than we anticipated. Two beds in the room were large to accommodate three of us. Before we went up to the room, we asked for an extra bed. The hotel staff did not convince me to order an extra bed, saying that the 2 beds in the room were large enough and that putting an extra bed would not leave enough space for us to walk around in the room. This proved to me that the hotel did not try to make money out of us, but just wanted to ensure our utmost comfort during our stay. We got an extra set of towels for free even if we did not order an extra bed. The beds were spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was large. In the deluxe room, they welcomed us with the fresh fruit platter, and as guests booking the hotel room online, they provided us a complimentary set of chocolate. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The food variety was not that much but the quality of food and fruits made us believe that the owner, the management and the chef try their best in ensuring that their guests would have best experience at their outlets. I could see this from the quality and freshness of meat, fruits and vegetables, including their condiments. Furthermore, as guests booking the hotel room online (again!!), all three of us got a very cute elephant key ring in a lovely box from the hotel staff while enjoying our breakfast buffet. In the second-day's morning, they did not serve the same kind of food as in the first-day's morning. I would say that I would definitely come back to The Park Hotel and would recommend my friends and acquaintances who are going to Chiang Mai to consider The Park Hotel as their first choice for the value of their money. My big thanks from us go to the management, owner, and all the hotel staff for their dedication for our relaxing stay during our vacation.

Staff was very helpful, and went one step further to help us arrange a driver, help with a sick 12 year old girl to go to hospital, and finally help us mail forgotten items in the hotel. Therefore Staff deserves 6 stars!

Full marks for almost everything. Delightful place. Well organised, clean, friendly, helpful staff, excellent security for lift access to floors. Room is top class in size, cleanliness, air condition very good and efficient. Breakfast was good and with plenty of choice, and the dishes varied slightly each of the 5 days we stayed. If there is anything that may be worth comments on . ... the pool is rather too near to and is open to the public road. In summary I would give it six or seven stars if the rating does not stop at 5. I have hesitation in using this hotel again .

Our stay at Mona's was absolutely fantastic. It seems to be a family business and they truly showed their kindness in everything they did for us. Only one or two can speak English well enough but it didn't matter. We connected much more with the eldest lady there and her husband who didn't speak any English at all. She's such a sweet lady. They gave us the big family room. So much space! And the room and bathroom were super clean. They changed out towels every day and left complimentary water bottles for the four of us daily. Breakfast was delicious and basically a four course meal. Soup, entree, sweet bread and fruits plus your beverage. It was incredible. Many taxi and tuk tuks won't know the location but there's over 700 hotels in Chiang Mai so be patient to find a driver that will make the effort for you! Its really close to the night market which you cannot miss! But stay at Mona's !! You won't regret it :) they were amazing! Thank you so much for everything !

This is excellent value in an excellent location . A beautiful pool and fairly clean rooms with hot water . It has a bar , restaurant and pool table and a nice mix of clientele .We checked in around 7.30am with no extra charge which im sure many travellers fail to mention . I work in a hotel and cant fault this place . If i could suggest one area of improvement it would be the addition of multi use soap/shampoo as this is not provided . A really nice place .

I stayed here during Loy Krathong and Yee Peng 2018. It was a very nice room with everything you need; a kitchen with all the utensils, microwave, washing machine on the balcony, two good working airconditioners with no bad smell at all, a nice couch, big television, spacious shower, etc.. It's possible to rent motorbike/scooter at the counter, the staff is very helpfull. When I go back to Chiang Mai I most certainly will stay here again. The only thing that stops me from giving this hotel a perfect score, is that they keep the crosstrainer in a very small non-airconditioned area on the upper floor.

Good service. We checked in at 10:00 a.m. and the staff was courteous to provide us the room with good views of the streets below. Although the hotel is old, they have maintained the cleanliness thoroughly. The room was clean and spacious with necessary amenities provided. Some of the equipment or furniture in the room was outdated or used over a long period of time, but one shouldn't complain given their low prices. The hotel staff informed us that all their rooms are non-smoking which is a boon for us non-smokers. You can smoke in the outdoor parking area though. Book on line to enjoy their special rates.

Amazing place and super cheap price, close to plazzar, I really like it, the booking is full and I cant live for more days, will book earlier if to Qiangmai again. SUPER GOOD HOTEL AND SERVICE.

I do a lot of traveling and have spent months staying in different hostels all around Thailand. This is one of the best values. I stayed in the 6 bed dorm (fan room). It was perfect temperate (I’ve seen other reviews complaining, so I’m not sure if they were in a different room or bad weather). Room was pretty clean (especially considering it a budget hostel). Hot water. Shoes are taken off before entering the hostel and overall the atmosphere was very laid back and opening. I was drinking a coffee writing this after having checked out (which was offered to me). Breakfast is included. That day it was soup and rice (as well as the standard toast with butter/jam, coffee/tea). It is self-serve. Starts at 8:15am, and u might want to get there early if u want to take advantage. Staff is some of the friendliest I met and tour packages offered best I’ve seen (includes bus to Pai for 180baht and BKK for 450). Area is out of center, but not far (cheap taxi) and free bike use. 100% recommend.

Great stay at Wiang Chang Klan! Owner/operater Feem is great and very helpful. If you're looking for a small hotel, nicely appointed, quiet, and close enough to everything you want to do but out of the fray - this is the place for you.

The location is good. We can try local noodles just crossing the road or walk 50 meters on the right hand side. It is easy to go to Chang Khan Road night market and medium sized Big C. Very convenient to buy cheap daily necessary or souvenirs. We can take duk duk to Chiang Mai Gate easily and cheap. Also we can try local food there! Super convenient. Even Grab a car to Nimman Road just need 110 bhut! The staff are super nice to us. They open the door for us everytime. And we can have some cake or thai tea downstairs in the cafe. The swimming pool is a bit small but the view is awsome! This apartment is highly recommended! I hope I can stay here next time when I come Chiang Mai again!

the hotel is in a great localisation, very close to the centrum and the night market. very good prices for a variety of trips and the owners are very helpful when it comes to the trips and not only! the rooms are very clean, the sheets were changed everyday. the only negative aspects were the breakfast, which was quite poor and that the wireless internet didn't work in the rooms. however, in the reception it worked just fine. but for such a price it didn't change our opinion of the hotel which is excellent!

Overall I loved it and would definitely come back. The price I paid for 4 nights with breakfast was only 85 dollars which is for the quality you get unbeatable. I would like this hotel to do well also in the future so my comment is mainly for the owners if they will ever read it.. :) Breakfast should be handled in a different way, we were served by a very nice Thai guy every morning however not having the chance of choosing your own breakfast and getting the same every day is no fun. If you like eggs, sausages and bacon you will be happy. If you are a yogurt, cereal, fruit, sweet bread person then not that much as they don't serve none of it! I have asked for some fruit and in the end I got a piece of watermelon which was great. Do not rent motorbike from them, you pay 200 for a rental for one day, if you walk just down the street and you turn right, there is a big rental place with Thai owner who rents motorbikes just for 100baht a day. New, nice bikes and he speaks really good English. Do rent bicycles from the hotel for 50baht a day, all bikes are brand new and stylish :) Do wash your clothes through the hotel = it's easy ans cheap (40baht a kilo). Rooms are awesome, spacious with nice shower and comfy bed. But the most important is the staff of the hotel, helpful in any situation, always positive with a great attitude.

The place is beautiful and the staff welcoming. They helped us book trips to go on and really took the time to do the little things to make us feel cared for. I would recommend if an older family or a young couple. The area okay, it was about a 15-20 minute walk to the night bazaar but not much is around the actual hotel.

The place was a pleasant surprise, considering how little we paid. Front desk staff were very helpful, a refreshing change from hotel staff in southern Thailand beach resorts. Bedroom and bathroom were clean when we first got in and the cleaning staff kept them that way for the next 3 days.

Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely and very helpful. They helped us with any queries that we had and done our washing for a small fee. Everything was very clean and we felt that ourselves and belongings were secure. The location is perfect for visiting the Night Bazaar and as a base for other destinations. Would definitely stay again, thank you!
