Nice hotel in the middle of old town”
after long day we came to chengho hotel and welcomed with friendly smile on the face of an old receptionist. it is very nice and make us feel that other things about this hotel is not big problems. we get what we paid and we will come back and stay chengho next time. thank you cheng ho and all staffs.

Near the Jonker Night Market”
The hotel is just two blocks away from the Jonker Walk. It's a good area to shop and eat at night. Across the bridge are Melaka Heritage sites. Biking around town is a popular way to explore. Cheng Ho owners have a bike rental and restaurant near the guesthouse. There's a free breakfast on their restaurant which was just so-so and repetitive.

Good place to stay!”
My stay was pleasant. It's a great place if you're only in Malacca for the weekend. The room is clean, I don't have bed bugs issue like some other reviews had. The bathroom is clean although it's a shared one. Less than 5 minutes walk to Jonker street. A great place to meet other travellers too! The only issue I had is the parking for my car as I drove to Malacca.

Cultural indulgence”
Cheng Ho Guesthouse is located just inside the jonker street. We rented bicycle and rode around the area, joyful ride. Rental from ChengHo will need not deposit for bicycle and that save us a lot of hassle as we did not bring much cash. Shopping centre just nearby, we walked there on first night and rode bicycle to there on second night.

TINY ROOMS”
People keep coming to Cheng Ho because of the reviews it receives but I feel for them to improve we have to give good honest comments for them to be better. The rooms are really tiny and property in Melaka is not the most expensive. The owners probably wanted to get as much income per day by getting as many people to stay in their guesthouse by constructing these small rooms. Yes true, the price is about RM 50 and if one converts it into USD or Pounds it is peanuts. The room consist of only a bed,a table,a plastic chair, a table fan and a BROKEN table lamp. The AC is cold but the temp is set with a timer which we couldnt fix or adjust. It would be cold for half hour and we'd have to press ON again to make it cold again. It's a very difficult place to find parking. One has to turn several times to look for a space. We arrived at night and when we checked out the next day, we already received a parking ticket or summon from the local municipal council clipped to our wiper and we were parked very near to the entrance of the guesthouse.The reception didnt even say anything to us about buying parking coupons. Agoda should highlight the guesthouses which are more suitable for guests who may be travelling to Melaka by bus, taxi or train as Cheng Ho and alert/advise potential customers to this guesthouse that parking is really difficult. We only managed to get the parking space very late at night when the Jonker Street vendors were in the midst of closing their businesses. My advice to the owners, to please evaluate the size of the rooms and make them a little bigger. Profit is not everything.

the room was claen and compact. friendly staff and attend to your requests. a nice gesture to provide internet service and tv at the reception area. the guest house is only few minutes walk to jonker walk, one thing to note that it is opposite the moseque and you have to prepeare that braodcast few times a day. overall, recommend for those budget travellers

Just behind jonker street”
easy to find location, even all the taxi drivers there in malaka would know this guesthouse. night market is just 1 block away, which means you can get easy access for shopping without people disturbing you when you're taking your nap. the receptionist is nice and would give you guides to most of tourist attractions & recommended restaurant there, and even give you reminder to be aware of pickpockets. most of tourist attractions are in walking distance, and even the rooms are generally neat and tidy, there are some stains on bedsheets and that's why i doubt about their cleanliness. they have 3 toilets on each floor. when we went there, the waterheater in 1 of the cubicles was not functioning, we also had complaint about small water pressure at some cubicles. but after all, this guesthouse is recommended for people who look for a cheap, strategic accomodation

excellent for backpackers. location excellent for shopping. roaming into the smaller alleys, you will be able to good food. good and yummy chicken rice ball stall around the corner. you can also find yummiest chendol nearby. you will enjoy the stalls at night along jonker street. stalls selling a lot of novelties you will never find in singapore.

warmest guesthouse and service with smile”
my first try on guesthouse ! the place is clean and comfortable, eventhough the attached bathroom is small, but its still acceptable in terms of its cleaness ! service is extreamly good, service with a smile and super friendly , and will fulfill guest's request within their limitation. well, the location is quite stategic, walking distance to the bandar hilir and famous attractions ! nice and perfect choice for budget short trip ^^

The service crew was very friendly and provided us with tips of where to go for our next food/massage destination... even to calling taxi service free of charge when it was pouring out... This is a budget backpacker hotel with the good service attitude. One of the better located around Jonker Street.

A quick family holiday”
We were a family of 7, wanting a quick holiday before heading back to KL. We fetched our son and daughter in law from the airport and hit straight to Melaka. My wife is from Melaka and so we are no strangers in Melaka. But to stay the night at Jonker Street where the hotel is located is an experience. It was pleasant despite the negative review. It's a good place to start as there are many attractions and local food nearby. We never fail to drop by our favorite chicken ball rice nearby.

Decent enough for backpacker”
This place is located in middle of jonker street which mean u're just in walking distance to almost everywhere. The date we chose to stay there fall on the same date with Thaipusam, so we were woken up early by the prayer from nearby temple. Apart form that, it was a nice experience

Budget guesthouse good for backpackers”
The hotel was booked for my girlfriend and her roommate. They went there for a night stay but had some rather unpleasant experience. It was during the hungry ghost festival and the temple beside was having some spiritual ceremony and my girlfriend and her roommate both had some unusual and funny activities going on in their room scaring the hell out of them both and stayed up all night. Other than that, everything overall was fine and value for the money as a budget guesthouse.

Staff have good service and explain every question clearly. Breakfast can choose 1 choice. Guesthouse is small room. We have reserved twin bed with attached bathroom, but bathroom is small and not good, water was flow all night.

1. clean 2. room is big 3. with hotel water and air cond 4. near to jonker street (night market) 5 near to history places (5 min walk) 6. near to shopping mall 7. near to restaurant (dimsum, noodle soup) 8. different temple u can see from here. cons. 1. no TV and wireless not strong inside the room 2. noisy - near to few temples which they have morning praying.
