Pretty, relaxed and excellent value!”
I came across Chezmoi Homestay by pure chance and it was such a lucky find! The rooms are simple yet clean, provides you with the essential comfort, there are enough clean bathrooms and toilets and you are treated with a homemade breakfast in the big kitchen every morning. The best was the free bicycles we toured through Chiang Rai with and the opportunity to hire a scooter at the homestay for little money to discover Chiang Rai's outskirts. There is also a cute shop in the front building to collect some souvenirs and presents. All in all a cozy, warm and safe place for amazing value – would definitely recommend for budget travellers!

Charming Homestay”
'Pros' If you're happy with basic and shared facilities, this charming quirky homestay is great value. Generous breakfast and free use of bicycles included. At time of writing, 433Bhat/night. With the handicraft shop attached, the place feels almost as much like an arts gallery as a guesthouse. Food? Can highly recommend 'A-Roi By Nar'; a lovely cafe/restaurant just a couple of minutes up the road. Great food, both Thai and Western. 'Cons' May be a little too far from centre for those who like nightlife, but Chiang Rai doesn't have much to offer anyway. Also, the lovely lady host speaks very little English. Good idea to learn some Thai before staying. Overall? Highly recommended for the basic/budget traveller, or anyone fancying a change from hotels.

Perfect stay in nice quiet guesthouse”
Couldn't find a nicer guesthouse! Location is a little far from the centre (about 30 mins walk), but this is where the negatives end. Rooms were very big and clean. Beds were comfortable and even though it was shared bathroom, there was more than enough showers and toilets to use! The actual homestay shares it place with a handicraft centre and if you have the chance to walk through the shop and/or watch the artist work, it is well worth your time! The place is surrounded by local vendors and 7/11 is only a 5 mins walk away. The important part - the included breakfast is amazing! Western option of toast is available, but definitely get the asian option. 3 dishes of homemade cuisine along with all the rice you want! Can't recommend this place any higher. A must stay!!

Recommended for great value and service!”
We needed somewhere we could crash for one night that was clean and affordable and this was definitely a great find. Staff was so kind—we actually needed to change dates and they gave us more flexibility than we expected given our booking rate policy. The set up is very simple but very clean. Photos shown on Agoda were accurate— colorful decor and mattresses on floor. Mattresses were very hard but that’s not uncommon for places I’ve stayed in Thailand. Rooms were very clean and tidy. We had one triple room, which had two queen size mattresses and one twin. We also had a standard air con room which had two twins. Many rooms have a shared bathroom, so just note that in advance, but there were two toilets and showers so we never had a problem. Breakfast is prepared and included in the community-style kitchen. The term homestay is appropriate. Other reviews mentioned the new age vibe, and that’s accurate. Location wise, it’s very near the clock tower.

Great and friendly hosts.”
I stayed at Chez Moi for 2 nights while exploring Chiang Rai. The host, Nat and his family is very helpful and accommodating. My room was simple and nice. The shared common bathroom are situated in the dining hall. The location of the homestay is situated slightly outside of town, so you'll need a tuk tuk or the blue van taxis to move about. The transport prices can be slightly pricey compared to Chiang Mai. During the day, you can easily negotiate 20 baht to get to town. But after sunset, you'll have to use your negotiating powers to bring the prices down in order get back home especially with the tuk tuks as the blue van taxis are difficult to be found. Evening prices can be between 40 - 60 baht.

Lovely experience all-around!”
my experience at chezmoi was great! it's a really lovely place, with an even lovelier staff; i whole-heartedly recommend it. super affordable, with free breakfast, free wifi, warm shower, etc - and a very good vibe. artistic, funky, independent. you can even rent a bicycle for free, or a motorbike for cheap (i did both - excellent)! the people that run it totally make you feel at home. they're very cool, very friendly, very sweet. it's a great location, too. would absolutely come back here!

low budget, comfortable, beautiful place ”
I'll definitely stay with Chezmoi again. The room I stayed in was very basic, clean and cozy, with beautiful tribe handicrafts decorations. I especially loved the home stay owner's handicraft shop. One downside is that the housekeeper doesn't speak English and it's hard to ask for help since the owner isn't always around.

Intimate and lovely design”
I love the way they decorate the room. Very intimate and touch of handicraft, which Chiang Rai is famous for. Lovely stay and lovely breakfast. Feel like homestay to a certain extent

Great Homestay”
Beautiful home with five rooms attached to a handicraft shop. Favourite place that we've stayed in during our Christmas trip. Bed was a little hard but still slept. Doi was a great host, lots of gesture conversations. Thank you for sharing your home.

Friendly hotel staff”
We had a nice and comfortable stay at Chezmoi. All the staff were very friendly and accomodating. We had arranged a tour day and our tour guide did not turn up and the staff were very helpful as they allowed us to use their phone and also waited for us a bit incase we wanted to join a tour they had organised with some other guests who were staying at the guest house. They also dropped us at the station which was a great help especially because we had quite a lot of baggages, The only thing that was a bit difficult for us was having the bathroom and toilets outside in a kind of open corridor so you don't really have any privacy. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay here.

Nice place”
Spend some days here and thought that it was a great location. A little far from bus station and the down town, but : On Sunday you have the Chiang Rai walking night street so it is nice, and you have food and massage in the street. About the room : Was great but could have been better on some points. Found some insects in it and not really comfortable with it, decoration was simple but good, bed was ok. Towels and pretty wrap clothes available. Not much light in the room on the ground floor. Bathroom was clean.

Homestay with clean rooms and friendly owner”
the homestay was not easy to locate but once we found it, it proved to be a lovely place. the rooms are behind a handicraft shop run by the same owners. they are friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. rooms are clean. however, it would be better if the rooms come with attached bathrooms, which is more convenient for travellers with small children.

Great! ”
Clean, large rooms with very comfortable beds (compared to other places in thailand). Free tea and coffee and breakfast included. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Is a distance from the centre of Chaing Rai (around 20 mins), however is an easy enough walk.

Amazing Stay”
Loved this place. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the free breakfast is healthy, local and delicious. It is located a bit of a walk from the center of town, but that was fine for us. I highly recommend staying here. You can't beat it for the price.

Charming, but Very Basic”
My friend and I stayed three nights at Chezmoi, and we had a good experience. Staying at this guesthouse was like staying at a Thai family's home...because that's exactly what it is! The family lives there; walls are thin and the 4-year-old cries frequently! But the beds were comfortable enough, the bathrooms/shower rooms (though not in the room) were fine but basic, and it was great to have free bikes and motorbikes to use. Chiang Rai is kind of weird -- no public transit, sparse taxis, and a bit sprawling. Not a lot of great restaurants around and all the tourist attractions (Golden Triangle, Doi Tung, etc.) are pretty far away. I recommend going to Phahanyolthin Road to set up a tour with an agency down there so you can get the most bang for your baht.

Get away from city”
Chez Moi is a good small home stay if you prefer quiet place. Staff was very friendly, room is ok but please don't compared with hotel. It's feel like you stay at your Grandma's home. Location is a bit far from city center but you can rent a motorcycle.

Cute guesthouse with helpful staff”
our stay was very pleasant. the guesthouse is attached to a nice little boutique shop and is right next to a large outdoor weekend market. the staff was also friendly and helpful, and accommodated our early arrival and very early morning departure (including having breakfast ready for us at 5:30am and driving us to the bus station). they also have bicycles available that are free for guests to use. one of the only slight negatives was that there were limited bathroom and shower facilities, which usually wasn't a problem but could get a little busy at times; they were, however, always kept nice and clean. for the price, this is an excellent little guesthouse, and we certainly enjoyed our stay!

Where is the staff?”
Very quaint homestay behind a nice little clothing shop, but there was only one person around. He appeared to be more of a security/caretaker of the property than staff. Needs information brochure in multiple languages or at least one available staff person.
