The room was very comfortable, I enjoyed my stay in here. It is centrally located and easy to get around to all the places (near by to St. Joseph's Cathedral, coffee shops, cafes and restaurants). If your room is included with the breakfast, you will satisfy with the excellent breakfast that the hotel has been provided in the rooftop. The variety and quality of food was superb! There is a rooftop bar as well the best place to get along with the people around. (They have a happy hour from 18:00 - 19:00) The last but not least, I’d like to thank for very helpful/pleasant staff. The staff was extremely friendly. Specially for TUAN, and ANH who very attentively responsive to all my requests. Overall, I could say the hotel has a good mission with very high standards were visible to see. Staff bright and happy with great focuses on their customers. Would highly recommended!

Exceptional”
Chien hostel is my favourite hostel in Hanoi, I stayed here for quite a while whilst waiting to get an apartment here. The rooms are clean, cheap and comfortable, great aircon and every other guest is respectful in the room. The staff are friendly and fantastic, they will help you out with everything from tours to getting some ideas of where go in Hanoi. The free breakfast is the best I've found in south east asia. The bar on the top of the hostel is a super chill spot with a great mix of backpackers and locals, has friendly staff, free beer and very fun events on certain days. I recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Hanoi.

Rosie is awsome!! ”
Wawawawawawawiwa! What a nice place. The staff is so cool especially Rosie. If you are lucky enough and she is working at reception the day you arrive it's a perfect start for your time in Hanoi. Also the hostel is super clean and the Aircon is on almost all day. Not to forget breakfast all you can eat and free beer hour at the roof top terrace where it's super easy to meet amazing people. Most of them not as amazing as Rosie but you can't have everything.

Incredible staff you drink as many beers as you can between 7 and 7:30 pm. perfect location in front of the cathedral friendly staff. delicious and very abundant breakfast. Lots of fun. We Ioved it and would totally recommend it for anyone!!!

Good Value for Money. Good Location. Nice Staff”
The value for this hostel is good with this very good price. First, the location is good. It is close to the lake and the puppet theatre. There are many restaurants around, too. So I could still find food at 10:30pm-11pm. The breakfast was nice, with egg, bread, a hot dish, coffee and tea. I only stayed there for one night but I felt that there was enough bathrooms and toilets. So far I stayed there for one night. So I did not meet all the staff members. But this staff member (Rosy, aka Autumn Water => Vietnamese name translated directly to Chinese) was very friendly. She helped me get to the water puppet theatre, recommended me where to find Vietnamese food nearby (and in Hai Phong, where I went to next). I particularly thanked her for telling me the nearest bus station to Hai Phong was Giap Bat Bus station and for telling me that there were some bad people trying to sell me bus tickets outside the bus station with a higher price or another buses.

Stayed 3night at 10mixed dorm. Clean sheet n pillow, comfy bed. U have own fan apart from room air conditioner and small locker to keep personal stuff. Staff members are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the rooftop w St. joseph cathedral view is amazing!!! Location is also perfect!

Friendly Staff, nice breafast ”
Their staffs were helpful, everyone is helpful but who standout were the siblings Nemu and Rosie. They are exceptional! Rosie and Nemu extended help beyond their duties and I really appreaciate it a lot. Breakfast was great! You can choose a variety of good food. A great stay with you are in a budget! Stayed there for 9 nights. 🇵🇭
