True ryokan experience”

Located right on the steps leading up to the Hikage ski lift, this ryokan has maybe the best location in Nozawa for skiing. It is however a true old ryokan, made of creaky wood, with low ceilings and hard floor mattresses and heat provided by kerosene heat lamps. If you're into that kind of true Japanese cultural experience, Chitosekan is perfect. If you want a soft mattress and a breakfast buffet, look elsewhere.
