"This hotel just off upper Queen Street is a real gem. Its fresh and clean with a modern decor in the bedroom and shower room. The staff are friendly and very professional. I booked online through Agoda and there were no problems when I arrived. Checkout time is 10am and there is a storage room to stow your bags if you need to catch a flight at a later time. There was an upgrade going-on in the hotel during the 6 days that I was there involving one of the lifts, but this was being carried out with no disruption to the guests as far as I could see. I only had 1 breakfast at the restaurant because there are so many other options for snacking and dining-out in this part of Auckland. The Continental breakfast was ok and reasonably priced. The hotel is about 1 minutes' walk from the Air Bus stop, so really convenient if you're flying in to Auckland. Its location just off upper Queen St, is close to the main bus routes running along Queen St and Karangahape Rd. Its about a 10min walk above the harbour and Britomart Station. From the hotel I could easily walk to Parnell, New Market, Grey Lynn, Ponsonby Rd, Auckland Uni, Auckland War Memorial Museum etc... The hotel building is an odd shape and the rooms are arranged around a central core....this meant no parallel walls in the bedroom... a bit disconcerting at first.. and meant that placement of the TV screen on the wall waat a bit of an angle to the viewer (but not a major problem). Value for money, this hotel would be hard to beat if you just need a place to sleep and shower."

"This hotel was perfectly adequate for our 2 day post cruise stay. This hotel is defiantly in the budget category and basically its one of those " what you pay for is what you get " deals similar to Ibis and Formulae 1 chains. However that being said the staff were helpful and welcoming and the rooms were clean but basic and the food was basic but was good value for the price paid. The lift was a VERY antiquated type*Think of the movie Thoroughly Modern Millie* (My partner was worried we would be stuck as it was very shuddery and bumpy when we stayed.) So if your looking for a good clean SHORT STAY BUDGET hotel in Auckland this will serve your needs however if your after a vacation hotel i would chose another more upmarket hotel in Auckland for your stay"

"Pros: Good location, Cheap accommodation, Clean with refurbished new facilities, late check out at 11am rather then the usual 10am in NZ. Cons:would be that there is no air con (fan instead), can't really leave the windows open as it's near main roads that creates a bit of noise. no mini bar/fridge, limited parking (so book this in advance). The doors are really heavy, I guess its so they close securly, but they are really noisy when they shut as they slam close. Keys instead of swipe/key cards, which I haven't seen for years in a hotel."

"Rendevous Hotel in Auckland was really nice. The hotel itself is really comfortable with its own bar and restaurant and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The bed itself is really comfy. Value for money was brilliant. Was sorry that we had only one night to stay there but will stay again when we are back in Auckland. Views from the hotel of the Skycity are also lovely especially at night time"

"We stayed at Oakwood Manor Motor Inn for two nights. We arrived by their courtesy coach at 7pm,check in was fast and easy as we had pre booked. We enjoyed a very nice meal in the dinning room, at this time there are no facilities for an alcoholic beverage as they are awaiting their licence to be approved. This did not worry us as we rarely drink alcohol anyway. We retired to our room to find the beds had electric blankets which had been previously turned on, which coming from a warm city to auckland in winter was wonderful. The beds were soft and very comfortable. The first morning we were taken again by courtesy coach to collect our hire car. Check out was also very quick and easy,The staff here are extremely friendly and we would definitely stay at Oakwood Manor Motor Inn if we return to Auckland."

"I've stayed in many hotels throughout Auckland, some were expensive and some were at the cheaper end of the market. This hotel is quiet and the rooms are really good, the pillows and bed are very comfortable. The only negative thing is that the bathrooms are not updated, but they are useable and everything works well. The room had a good selection of channels on the TV in my room. You can make a tea/coffee or use the microwave to heat food, but they don't have any plates or cutlery to use. "

"We stayed 3 nights in Skycity hotel. It is one of the best hotels in Auckland CBD. The iconic Skytower is adjuscent to the same building and the i-site center is squarely in the hotel itself. The Hotel also has a lively Casino and becomes the center of attraction on weekends. However, the only drawback is that they charge parking fee to in house guests also and that too at a steep NZD 20/night. Anyways there are no free parking places that we were aware of in Auckland and thus we had to park our rental cars in the hotel parking. The hotel staff was but more than happy to offer us free complimentary parking for 2 days after first night of paid parking. Only issue that we faced was, they charged my credit card, which they take for security, for some minibar consumption that we hadn't consumed. We were not informed about any charge at our checkout and later when I saw my card statement I realized NZD 10 was charged. But after some followups on email they have told me that these charges are reversed. But it kept me wondering, if they could have charged me for anything else also as they take your credit card information for security purpose."
