Traveling to Taiwan? Find Changhua hotels

Location was good, we walking to Lukang old street to explore after parking our car. There's free parking for hotel guests as well, just have to inform them of your car plate number. Bathing facilities were good, breakfast provided was not too bad as well. The only problem is that the room is pretty small for 3 of us, we all had to sit on the floor while watching tv / chilling (as we could only rest on the bed after bathing) and only one can open the luggage each time, or else there wouldn't be any space to walk. Hotel staff was very helpful and assisted in our queries, kindly directed us to the nearest laundromat.

The room’s condition is like 1-2 stars motel in the US but the price was over $100 per night. The breakfast is the best thing there. The swinming pool only open on Sat and Sun. I wish I knew that before I booked it with that price. There were small aunts in bethroom even it was on 13th floor. After we complained about the bad room condition to the hotel they sent some cookies to our room to try to make it up but that day the room service came to change the towels without making the bad. Not worthy!

A new (completed July 2017) modern hotel in Old Lukang. You are steps away from the old Lukang temple. There is parking below the hotel. They do not have a shuttle for Changhua train station pickup. They are billing themselves as a small luxury hotel. Everything is neat and clean with all the amenities you expect in a fine Taiwan hotel. Additional items are a bowl of fruit waiting for you and a mini-fridge stocked with a couple items. Additionally, at 8 pm they stock a cooler in the lobby with soft drinks for the guests and beer for a nominal charge. The lobby coffee maker is available for guest’s use all day long, since there is no coffee in the room. There is tea and a tea pot. Bathroom was modern with a large tub. Breakfast was a little strange. I have been used to buffet breakfasts at Taiwan hotels, but since there are probably such few guests on the day I was here they brought out the food individually on plates. When I checked in they asked if I wanted a Western or Taiwanese breakfast, I specified Western but I think I got mostly Taiwanese. They did make a so-so omelet though. I believe I was the only Westerner staying in the hotel which may have had something to do with it too. In summary, a very fine hotel close to important areas in Lukang. They may be overpriced but you are not going to find this type of hotel in the old area. Maybe if they are going to serve breakfast on individual plates, they should have a menu to check-off items, at least for Westerners since some may not have acquired the taste for a Taiwanese breakfast. Also, it would have been nice if they kept the hotel design reflective of Lukang character.

GREAT VALUE! GREAT STAFF! GREAT EVERYTHING! I wasn't too sure about the high rating over the internet for this hotel until we set our feet inside the facility! Not saying its 5 stars by any means but for it's price, it exceeds my expectation by MILES! 1. Great breakfast selection! I can't say enough about this! 2. Free beverages, snacks, and ice cream @ lobby is something I never came across of! also 4 Internet access PC and bikes? Man, they over kill it! 3. Decent room / bathroom interiors for this price. Lastly but not leastly, the staff was professional and caring! I can't wait to go back again~

Wonderful atmosphere in the hotel. Staffs are friendly. There's free drinks and snacks (noodles, fries, ice cream, tea, and others) in the restaurant for all guests. Wi-fi works fine. There's also free bicycle for use if you need. I tried cycling around in the afternoon when I was looking for lunch, but I'm not familiar with the traffic conditions and rules in Taiwan, so it took some getting used to. I came here for a performance at the Yuanlin Performance Hall, so this hotel was located close to it, perfect for my purpose, only 15mins walk or 5 mins cycle. I'll stay again if I'm back here.

hotel location is about 5 mins drive from Changhua city freeway and 10 mins drive from Changhua city and Changhua train station, the hotel room is actually good, Uniqlo, supermarket are opposite and night market is very near hotel, hotel room is actually good it is big and clean, it is not perfect but with this price it is worth to stay.

The hotel is carefully managed and staff well trained. Buffet style breakfast is of quality. Staffs are professional and attentive. All dishes are well prepared, fresh and tasty. There’s good variety of Asian dishes, good quality salad bar, seasonal fruit plates, breads, cereals, drinks... etc. All generously supplied, clean and fresh. I will definitely return and bring my families next time.

You are welcome with soothing music once stepped in the room. Very spacious room and large bathroom. Convenient shop is just nearby along the street.

Motel is within walking distance from Changhua Railway Station and bus station. There are buses going to Mt Bagua and Lugang from the Changhua Station. Can walk to the fan shaped train depot from the motel. A lot of food outlets nearby. Room is very big and bathroom is very big as well. Room is very cold. No hooks are available in the bathroom to hang clothes.

It took 30-40 mins walked from the Changhua train station to the hotel, however it is closed to the food night market area. Family Mart and 7 Eleven is around.

We stayed here to visit Lugang and Changhua. Hotel was good for money and the staff were kind. This hotel has a spacious parking lot on the ground. When we asked about the restaurant for dinner, the staff gave us a map around the hotel which was useful, and showed a direction to the street where were lots of restaurants. But they were like food stalls in night markets. What we wanted was air-conditioned one. So the next day, we went to leftwards from the hotel front door (going out from the hotel) and found an air-conditioned one with good food at the corner where the small road meets the big raod. It's very near from the hotel and you can see 7-11 there.

The room is too dark, when i book is rainbow, reach the hotel change to jungle , no good breakfast no good. only delivery to room with a burger and a drink only.

When we arrived the door was closed and we could not get in. However the lady returned after 15 minutes. That is why 4 star for Staff. Otherwise very good.

My biggest issue with this hotel is the mold, you are constantly breathing it in, it takes a toll on your lungs. Then, to take into account how much you pay for a room, I think it's overpriced.

This motel was over my expectation. It was completely different than what I knew of a motel. The room was huge with spacious bathroom. It would be better if the rooms were not transparent though. The check in was done quickly in the car, so there was very little interaction between the staff and us. Some very minor things that might need improvements were: ants in the bathroom, air con was way too cold, and the bed curtains were a bit useless as there was no way to adjusted them the way we wanted. Overall, it was a very good experience.

My friend and I booked a spa room so we could relax before and after running the Lukang half marathon. The hotel is lovely but not very close to the old street, maybe a 15 minute walk. Breakfast was included and was alright. We had a room with a pool inside and there were sooooo many mosquitos... it was impossible to sleep. However, the staff gave us a mosquito lamp when I asked and we went right to sleep after that. Definitely recommended (but ask for a mosquito lamp). Will return!!

service is good but too many tourist from china, too loud. we are awake at early 7am by people who live next to us. only shower in the bathroom, can't take a bath.

There aren't many guesthouse options if you want to spend the night in Lukang. This place is fairly easy to find on an alley that runs parallel to one of the main streets in Lukang with the hostel being located right by a historic gate or small archway. Note that just motorbikes have access to the narrow alley and that everything in Lukang is within walking distance from it. There is a hot water dispenser but a limited number of cups, dishes and not much in the way of silverware with that being my only real complaint - beyond the very steep/narrow stairs that go upstairs. Otherwise, the beds have mosquito netting which is a must - even in early December. This also means you will get bit when sitting downstairs. Each locker is opened by a number combination that you set yourselves. There are also sandals to wear provided by the hostel, laundry facilities and hot water showers. The front desk staff or owners can speak some English for basic questions - like checking the bus schedule for going back to Taipei. You will need to SMS or email them about your arrival time so that someone can be there to check you in (Agoda will email you their contact details / directions in multiple languages). If coming or going to Taipei, the bus station is less than 10 minutes walk and on the road that gives access to the alley that Smalleye is located on. Otherwise, you can get off the bus from Changhua at the intersection by the alley (there is a 7-eleven on the corner of the main intersection). Just note that Lukang shuts down fairly early on weekdays (no night market etc) when there aren't many tourists around. If you stay overnight, some of the lit up temples are worth revisiting at night.

Room light are too dim for reading. No chair & no desk to work on lap top. Onlt 2 working electric outlets (not enough). Very limited food choice for breajfast. No breakfast room, no restaurant. Most staff do not speak English. Chack-in time is 9 p.m. (very weird & unusual for hotels & motels. When I grumbled about this, they checjed me in as IRrived 1 p.m. windows open to a hallway (no daylight from outside). Too much noise at night from water & drainage systems. Cannot lock room from outside; they close.the garage door when you leave.

My family had a wondeful stay! The hosts are lovely and very friendly. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and beds were large and very comfortable. The best thing is that they have 6 very cute pet bunnies in the garden.

Sparkling clean with thoughtful little touches and details throughout and the bed was luxuriously comfortable, better than most hotels!
