"I have stayed at many hotels in Chiang Mai on business trips. This one was by far the best in the downtown area near the Night Bazaar. For me, location is very important in Chiang Mai. This is the best hotel in the location if you want luxury at a good value. The food here was very good also. This was our first time taking young children with us to Chiang Mai. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the children who were ages 1 and 3. We will definitely come back to the Centara. We love Chiang Mai."

"we live in dubai but we travel to chiang mai at least once a month as our children study in boarding school in chiang mai. we stay in many many highend places in chiang mai which were really nice and pricey. after we found "lotus pang suan kaew chiang mai" and stay here, it's just right about the location, safety, service and the hotel offer all guests free pick up from chiang mai airport too! we went back ther more than 7 times already since march 2011 and we booked the rooms with "agoda.com" only because so far this website is the best price and the best promotion (free room upgrade) compared to the others. i can pay 3 rooms per night as equal price as one night only @ the hotels i stay in chiang mai before. our family from uk also love this place, it's look gorgeous when you take pictures. "This hotel is my favourite hotel in Chiang Mai. Every time I visit Chiang Mai I prefer to stay here. It has the best location n that is one of the reason that if yoiu do not book well in time its hard to get a room. Nice spacious rooms n bath room. I always enjoyed the breakfast. The location is good one close to many attractions. I would recommend it to all travells whether solo or with family to stay here. "

"This is about the 8th time we have stayed at Top North, why? Because it is inexpensive, central to everything, clean and generally quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast whilst not lavish is suitable and sufficient for the general traveller. One not of caution, this time we were allocated room 407, which was roomy, clean and comfortable and provided a quiet nights rest. However for the infirm or elderly the shower/bath may be an issue as it stands approximately 70 cm - 2'4" inches high making access difficult for the elderly or anyone with hip or back problems. Our friend was allocated room 400, which had a lower shower/bath access. The owners have over the years slowly improved all the facilities in the hotel and it is now (for me) one of the best 'value for money', location wise hotels in Chiang Mai, with its large pool, pool bar and in-house massage facilities."

"Although this hotel is a few miles from Chiang Mai it is in a lovely peaceful setting and very tranquil. It is ideal as an away from it all location. There is a free shuttle service into Chiang Mai by boat in the morning and by minibus at night. Our room overlooked the River Ping and was well thought out in its layout. You could lay on the bed or in the bath and enjoy the views of the garden and the river. The infinity pool was a nice touch. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We wanted to go to a restaurant in Chiang Mai at 9.00pm on the Sunday evening and we asked reception to get us a taxi. They told us that the taxi was not available that evening but the receptionist offered to take us to the restaurant in her own car which we happily accepted. Now that's what you call customer service! Free wi fi was available at any point within the hotel grounds. Would definately recommend this hotel and would definately go back again. "

"Chiang Mai Orchid is one of the oldest big hotel in the city. Its location is convenient for me who has business to do with Chiang Mai University but for most tourists, it might be more convenient to stay over the Nimanhemin Road for your night shopping/dining. Although the room and facility look a little too aged, the hotel is very big and they have pretty much most things we need....it is just not in the most stylish way as many other smaller boutique hotels in Chiang Mai will offer. But the hotel restaurant offered a very nice local food in a very reasonable price. The breakfast buffet was also nice. In conclusion, although this place might be old and does not offer the fancy look to the visitor, it is clean and convenient."

"I stayed in a dorm under the roof. The dorm has 2 AC and a washbin. Outside the dorm is the shared toilet and bathroom. The locker for the luggage are to small to put a back pack inside. It's just for your valuables. Everything was very clean. You get a blanket and a pillow but no towel. At the terrace you have a wunderful view over Chiang Mai. Nearby is the somphet market and many temples. It's no problem to find breakfast in the surrounding. "
